Yuki Saito[1]

Yuki Saito[2] is a Japanese occultist and member of Obscurité, an independent gang of occultists from France who fight the paranormal, with a cameo appearance in the 10th episode of Calamity. Along with Dominic, she was called to deliver a box to Leone's Mansion, on the orders of Marc Menet, and stayed there to protect it from invasion with members of the group Hell Hunters and Arthur, Balu and Rubens.[3] Yuki is also bonded with a Mark from the Other Side.

Appearance[]

Yuki is a short woman, about 1,60 meters tall, has straight black hair, wears a shirt with black stripes; on her neck, she has chains of a strong black tone, wearing a black outfit, however, being slightly grayer, in a lighter tone. Yuki has light blue eyes, and carries two swords with customized daggers, containing ornaments of blue colored oriental dragons. On the blades, the rituals she uses have been drawn.[4]

When using Curse Weapon with Knowledge Ritual, her eyes glow gold, as do parts of her clothing and blades.[5]

Personality[]

Yuki is a very serious woman who speaks calmly most of the time, rarely getting excited. She is quite a strategic woman. Yuki tends to be serene and talk in a low voice, even in tense combat situations. She is also known to be cold, as she is unaffected by the death of a companion caused by herself.

Biography[]

Past[]

Yuki was born in Japan. At some point in her life, Yuki joined the Obscurité to get revenge for the death of her brother, who was also a member of the group. There, she met and befriended Dominic Sy Pierre, becoming best friends.[6]

Calamity[]

During a mission in Paris, Marc asked Yuki and Dominic to take a box from the Catacombs of Paris to the Leone Mansion,[7] so both of them went to Italy and fought in the first wave of attacks of the Escribes, taking out much of the enemy.[8][9]

With the arrival of Arthur Cervero, Balu and Rubens Naluti at the mansion, Yuki helped in the second wave of attacks, taking some Escribes Lusidii and supporting the fight against Sphinx Carrion, using her Paradox ritual on the creature which ended up failing and killing an ally.[10][11] After defeating the creature, the two members of the Obscurité handed the box to Arthur and returned to Paris to continue their mission.[12]

Deadly Speed Ritual: By using this ritual, Yuki gains great movement speed, being able to perform more than one action per turn, having the feeling that the world around her is slower.[13]

"Cards of Destiny" Ritual: Yuki runs his hand over one of his swords, pulling out a card and throwing it at a target, when using this ritual , it manifests and fires a symbol against the target's mind, guaranteeing 2d6 damage of Knowledge and if it fails a Will test with Presence, it ends up being dazed. If the target resists it suffers half the damage. It is possible to improve this ritual by spending 2 PE, planting the symbol in the enemy's mind, thus, for the duration of the ritual, Yuki will know the direction and location of the enemy.[14]

Disturbing Ritual: Yuki points one of her swords in the direction of her target, saying "come" in Japanese, when using this ritual she sends command words to the target's mind, causing it to perform an action of your choice, if it fails a Will save with Presence, it must carry out the command during its own turn, as best it can.[15]

Curse Weapon with Knowledge Ritual: Yuki, upon licking his two swords, activates this ritual, causing his dual swords to take on a golden hue, along with with her eyes and parts of her clothing. This ritual causes her swords to deal an additional 1d6 Knowledge damage for the entire scene.[5]

Impact Delay Ritual: Yuki, through this ritual, manages to dissipate part of the potential energy of attacks suffered, receiving 10 more temporary VP (Life Points), but only against ballistic or physical damage, it is also possible to improve this ritual, spending 2 more EP, thus gaining 5 more VP, this ritual lasts for an entire scene.[16][17]

Paradox Ritual: Yuki crosses his swords making circular movements in the air and a black sphere begins to appear on the ground. When using this ritual, a vortex of temporal paradox is created in an area of choice, at short range, everyone in the area takes 6d6 damage from Death and if anyone falls in dying with this ritual's damage is killed instantly, it is also possible to enhance this ritual by spending 2 EP, adding another 1d6 Death damage.[18][11]

Phantom Leap Ritual: Yuki crosses her swords and is engulfed by a sizzle, almost as if a TV turns off, instantly teleporting to Fabrizio's side, when using this ritual can instantly teleport to an area he already knows.[19]

Abilities[]

Other Side Element Affinity: Yuki has an affinity for Element of Knowledge, allowing her to cast Knowledge rituals without requiring ingredients. Also being able to use Knowledge rituals as a standard action, rather than a full action, in addition to being able to develop a certain affinity with Knowledge paranormal powers.[20]

Defensive Tactics: Yuki can use Intellect instead of Agility on Reflex rolls.[21]

Paranormal Force: Yuki's rituals, which deal damage or heal, receive an additional bonus equal to the user's Intellect, which in Yuki's case is 3.[22]

Flexible Enchantment: By using 2 EP, Yuki can change the duration of her rituals.[23]

Precognition: Yuki has a sixth sense of sorts, sensing incoming attacks around her, gaining +5 defense for close range attacks.[24]

Exorcism: Yuki has the ability to calm someone using her Occultism points instead of Diplomacy points, which can be used to bring an ally out of the state of Going Mad.[25]

Double swords with ritual spikes in black and daggers decorated in the shape of blue oriental dragons. When Yuki uses the Curse Weapon Ritual with Knowledge, his swords glow gold, dealing attacks with additional Knowledge damage.

Trivia[]

  • The name Yuki is inspired by a character of the same name from Kalera from Conan RP, as well as Erin Parker.
