Beach is the second episode of The Secret in the Island. It aired on July 2, 2022.
Synopsis[]
The Florence decide to enjoy the day to relax a bit on the beach of Tipora. But a wild incident, a village gathering, and a secret guarded all over the island promise to turn the day upside down.
Summary[]
It's a new day at the island of Tipora. Amelie wakes up and goes to check the window of the room where she was with her brother. She notices a person walking outside the mansion coming from the back and heading towards the entrance of the house, Amelie recognizes him as Cavalcante, she wakes Olivier up so he can see too, but the real estate agent is no longer seen. The brothers smell the breakfast being made by their mother and go to the kitchen, talking a bit with their family.
In the next door, Bárbara wakes up with the sun rays coming in through the window, and then wakes up Milo. Suddenly they hear loud knocks on the door, and someone shouts asking why Bartô is there, Bárbara recognizes this voice as Lívia Lima, her mother. Lívia enters the room and quarrels with the two for having gone to the mansion, Bartô leaves with Milo and Lívia continues fighting with Bárbara, slapping her in the face and forbbiding her to go to the church barbecue. Milo and his father go towards their house, and Bartô as soon as he arrives, departs towards the sea.
At the mansion, the family finishes eating, they talk a little and decide to prepare to go to the beach. Angelina goes to her room to change clothes and Amelie follows her. While the mother is in the closet changing clothes, Amelie looks at her mother’s things and finds some papers about a divorce case, and while Amelie sees that paper Angelina comes out of the closet and Amelie quickly hides the paper, the mother realizes only that she hid something and Amelie goes to the closet to get ready.
In the next door, Bárbara cries a little due to the slap of her mother, and decides to leave her house, leaving there she finds Olivier and talks a little with him. Amelie and Angelina leave the mansion and ask Bárbara about a good beach, and she recommends the beach from Milo's house, guiding them to there. Meanwhile, Milo stays at home playing his banjo, and upon hearing them talking, Milo stops playing and goes to them. Angelina lies in the sand and they talk a little outside, they enter Milo’s house and continue to talk there. Milo decides to open his father’s bedroom door for the first time, and they begin to investigate, finding a knife, a lighter and a locked drawer. Looking for something, Milo finds a picture of a woman, which Milo recognizes as being a picture of his mother.
Suddenly they hear someone screaming, Olivier looks out the window and sees Angelina running away from the boar they met yesterday, running all bloody. However, the boar was not running after Angelina, it was running from something, and from the middle of the woods there are some Wild Dogs who were chasing the Boar. Everyone runs in the direction and starts fighting the animals that appeared. Milo catches a paddle and fights the dogs, Amelie and Olivier go close to their mother and a dog attacks Olivier, injuring his leg. During this, coming from the sea, Bartô Castello appears, paddling towards them. Coming right after the dogs, by surprise, Snakes appear, attacking the dogs and Milo. And when Milo is bitten, he notices that that was a venomous snake. Bartô arrives and helps them by killing the animals and taking a poisoned Milo to Návia Eiland, the island doctor. Bartô runs along with Milo through the forest and Bárbara goes after. From the middle of the bush appears Vagner, who takes the body of the boars, and goes with Angelina, Amelie and Olivier to the village.
Arriving there, Bartô puts Milo in one of the beds of Návia’s house, and she begins to treat Milo. The Florence arrive in the village and go straight to Návia’s house. Milo is stabilized but they still need an antidote to stop the snake’s venom, causing Bárbara and Amelie to run into the forest to look for a plant called "Climbing Fig", plant that has this name because cats tend to hate it, which differs it from an extremely similar plant, but that cats like. In the search for Bisteca to find the right plant, the girls find Pedrinho and Vitinho again messing with the animal and fight with them, managing to rescue the cat. After finding the right plant, Bárbara tells Amelie that the two boys only generate problems, and that their speech worried her about commenting on "drop the act", the Florence doesn't understand anything at first, but the gardener says that there is a secret that the whole island knows, except Milo, and she would tell this secret to Amelie later. They then return to the house of Návia and do the antidote for the poison, treating the wounds and then everyone leaves the house.
Leaving there, they realize that the village is very busy, they see the people of the village are preparing dinner. Bárbara sees her mother and, in fear, hides behind people so as not to be seen. They talk while dinner things are being prepared. After Bárbara hides after Amelie makes a loud sound, she realizes that her mother was already passed out from drinking, they approach and Lívia ends up vomiting on Amelie, soiling her. Bárbara notices Helena hiding behind Vagner watching them, going there Bárbara talks to her and she offers to make a costume for Amelie. They talk for a while and Milo gets up on the table, grabs his banjo and starts playing for everyone. After that they decide to take food and talk about the day before, Olivier notices Cavalcante arriving and approaching the food.
They begin to realize that the mood of the party is getting heavy, the conversations cease and they see in the distance a figure walking, Celestino, who shows up alone saying he’s alone without his father and talking about Constantino, calling him "Uncle Constantino". Adrian takes him back to the lighthouse, everyone wonders that they’ve never seen the lightkeeper so far from the lighthouse.
The youngers then go to Helena's house to pick up Amelie's new clothes, since the apron that Bárbara had lent her so that the girl would not be receiving judgement looks was dirty with the vomit of Mrs. Lívia. Leaving there, everyone goes together to their homes, accompanying Adrian taking his uncle to the lighthouse. Arriving there, the lightkeeper saus something about a secret that can only be said once a day, and about not following the noises of the night. They go to the mansion with Milo, who briefly argues with his father that he did not want to give him permission to sleep outside again, but eventually relents. On the way, they debate thesuspicious attitudes of Cavalcante and they find out that possibly he also had contact with the strange painting.
Arriving at the mansion, the group of young people begins to talk about the new things that were found and a small family intrigue ends up happening, where Amelie tells her mother that she saw the papers about the divorce, while Olivier, Bárbara and Milo talk to Montel about how he acts as a father. Not long after that, after only the youngers remain in the hall of the mansion, they argue over a birth record and fight so that Milo would not take it, but, upon seeing the record, Milo discovers that in fact, he never existed. Milo has always been an imaginary friend of Miguel, and in one night Miguel takes on Milo’s personality, simply ceasing to exist. For 10 years everyone in the village kept this lie, this theater, but Bárbara couldn’t go on with it anymore and told the whole truth, and finished, she returns to her home. Milo follows her, and even with the discussion the two sleep in the girl’s room, while the Florence, after debating about what had just happened, go to Olivier’s room and sleep.
With a jumpscare, in the middle of the dawn, the brothers wake up hearing something falling and a disturbing roar again in the third floor. They decide to ignore again and go back to sleep, but it’s not the end of the night yet.
It's raining a lot, and Milo sees himself at the beach, seeing the sea and a silhouette of a person, Miguel. The boy is happy to finally see his "brother", who is exactly like him, but he talks about the door being opened again and Milo wakes up soaked in sweat.
