Arachnophobia is the third episode of The Secret in the Forest. It aired on April 25, 2020.
Synopsis[]
Visiting the Ape Hangers, the team finds a terrible murder next to the place, and, with Arthur's help, a city's musician, they need to go to the forest to fight the horror that hides there.
Summary[]
After the return of Thiago, that went out of Pequena Carpa Sanatorium to look for other clues, the team finishes doing their job by throwing gasoline at the Ooze Maggot and giving a shot to burn the creature. Soon after, the group goes to the Carpazinha Hospital to be attended to by the wounds caused, treating the wounds and regaining some sanity, while the rest go to sleep.
At the hospital, they meet Cibele, a nurse who works at the hospital. She is very worried to see the situation of Cristopher, and plays a bit with him and Cesar, sympathizing with the two, along with the other nurses. Despite the screams of Cris disturb a little, the nurses end up having fun with the cute man-wall. Later everyone goes to sleep, some with more difficulty because of the cries of Cristopher, and Cesar passes the night playing LOL, receiving an anonymous message written "Ape Hangers, 5PM". Everyone gets that same message later.
Thiago arrives with the car at the hospital, and the group heads to Ape Hangers. The different appearance, with the entrance door closed and several motorcycles and cars parked in front with some very low guitar noises, plus a giant sign written on the "Vultures Show". Also noteworthy is an envelope sent by Mr. Verity, was marked by Thiago to be sent at the bar. Inside the envelope, there were two photos of the symbol and two files of two occultists suspects: Eric Jour and Eva van Gloss.
Inside the bar, the bikers were arranging some instruments. Instead of the pool table, there was a large makeshift stage with huge speakers. Many people would attend the show. There, the team is presented to Arthur Cervero, son of Brúlio, and guitarrist of the band,very excited for his presentation, wanting very much the five to listen to his songs.
While they’re distracted, trying to pull out one of the darts that Joui threw during the first encounter with the Vultures and arranging other things for the bar party, they don't even notice the delay of Thiago when going to talk to Mr. Getúlio, a friend of the gang. Brúlio notices and resumes this information to the group, and Cesar calls to see where his friend is, without answer.
While everyone is packing up equipment for the show, they leave upon receiving the news, seeking to find him at the gas station in front of the bar. Instead, they find the still fresh corpse of Getúlio, blood everywhere, a trail of ooze to the forest and a Dumped Spider devouring his face. The creature, by seeing Cristopher, that opened the door, jumps into his face and tries to kill him, but is killed before managing to cause serious damage. A lot of new people start arriving for the party, and now, the team needed to save that crowd of people from the monster, without them getting knowledge of this information.
A discussion takes place about the man’s death and how they would hide him from the rest of the people. Trying to find a solution as more people arrive, the quintet fights against the time for the show to be postponed, but Arthur, worried about the group’s delay, goes to the gas station and finds the man’s body, having his first official contact with the Order. The team asks the guitarist to trust them, and to postpone the show for people’s safety. Immediately, Arthur cancels the party. Brúlio does not understand anything, but does not disagree to see the serious face of his son, and even gives him a gun to protect himself.
He then returns to the group, and they all head towards the forest, following the trail of dark ooze, hearing fine sounds and seeing silhouettes walking in the shadows behind the trees. More and more, the ooze became more visible.
A silhouette could be seen from the forest, recognized as Thiago, and other silhouettes of several small mutant spiders, and a reddish glow. This silhouette was an Aracnasite, like the other spiders, but colossal, the red symbol glowing in the rear, and a dark and hairy body with certain transparent parts, being able to see the body of the unconscious Thiago. It stands up and quickly rushes to attack, accompanied by dozens of other spiders.
Incredibly, it is not the biggest problem in this battle. The greatest danger is the small arachnids in every corner, which jump in groups towards their prey, clinging to some part of the body, waiting for other spiders to arrive. In the beginning, the winning technique was to hit the spider’s ass (where the symbol was) and not hit Thiago, but after getting closer and discovering other abilities of it, including long-distance attacks, the main plan becomes to run. However, Cristopher stays behind and holds on to the monster, trying to grab Thiago to get him out of the animal. But again, the plan goes wrong, and an immense amount of spiders join in the man.
Cristopher sacrifices himself to save Thiago, but loses his life in a cruel way in the process, being devoured by the creatures on top of him. The giant spider dies, exploded internally by Elizabeth with a flare shot that enters its mouth, killing all its little arachnid servants, and setting that beautiful forest on fire.
Thiago still lives in the cocoon, with the remains of his friend giving a last goodbye hug. He only leaves when Liz pulls him out.

Trivia[]
- Rakin, that plays Thiago Fritz, was not present during the recording of this episode due to problems with his Twitch account. His character was played by the master, Cellbit, who followed the player’s guidelines of how he would handle the plot situations.
- Guaxinim debuts as Arthur Cervero, in what was scheduled to be just a special cameo to fill the lack of Thiago in the team. His character would join the main cast from the episode "The House".
- The initial script of the episode was that the agents would take refuge in the bar when they found the giant spider and then would have to kill all the dumped spiders and save the civilians, until the giant spider arrived as the final enemy of the episode.
