The Collector

Welcome to Holy Cradle, you guys arrived right in my Trial!

Murilo^[1]

Murilo, later known as The Collector, was an employee at the Carpazinha Hotel, and subsequently was found living with the people of Holy Cradle.

He first appeared in the 1st episode of The Secret in the Woods, welcoming Team H in the hotel he worked.^[2] He appeared again in the 9th episode, being seen dancing with some Lusidii around him.^[3] He was about to start his Trial when he disappeared,^[4] and after this, was found dead at the woods.^[5]

Appearance[]

Murilo was a young man in his 20s, thin, with short curly light brown hair.^[2]

When he assumed his Lusidii form in Holy Cradle, he, like all the inhabitants of the village of Holy Cradle, had grayish skin, completely black eyes, pointed ears and stripes on his face, which in his case were two stripes in each eye, one down to the chin and another also down to the chin, but diverging in another line in the cheek area. He wore a large black coat with a brown hood over a beige shirt, a beige pants and brown boots.^[3]

Biography[]

Murilo was a normal young man from Carpazinha, working in the Carpazinha Hotel, where he was probably doing some kind of internship.^[2] As he lived in a small town, he knew almost everyone there. His grandpa was the owner of Carpazinha Printers, one of the only printers in town, and he was dating Jéssica, that worked in the Carpazinha Library.^[6]^[7]

In his monotonous work, he used to spend most of his time on social media and was always surprised when a new guest arrived. He was who received Liz, Thiago, Joui, Cesar and Cristopher, when they arrived in the town searching for Team Kelvin.^[8]

A few days later, he was approached by The Gatekeeper, that invited him to join Holy Cradle, a hidden town between the forest. For some unknown reason he accepted and left his life in Carpazinha behind, embracing the village people and becoming The Collector.^[9] In the following days, he gained the typical appearance of the Lusidii.^[10]

On the day of his Trial, when he would begin the process that would definitively turn him into a member of Holy Cradle, he was surprised by the arrival of Liz, Thiago, Joui, Cesar and Arthur in the town. During the process, he was very excited, and explained to them that he would have to spend three years in "pilgrimage" until he could return to the Woods, where the seed he had planted would have already borne fruit.^[3]

In the following days, however, he seemed to have disappeared completely.^[4] Eventually, his body was found dead in the tree stump representing the community leader, The Blacksmith. Just like it happened with The Helper, his throat was cut with a kitchen knife and his mouth was full of green crystals. After seeing the body, The Doctor theorized that they had been used as anesthesia, and that he must have been unconscious for days when his throat was torn. Drawn with his blood on the trunk, was the Spiral Symbol.^[5] After being confronted, The Gatekeeper admitted that he murdered both The Helper and the Collector to free them both from their suffering.^[11]
