The Blacksmith

The Blacksmith was an inhabitant and former leader of Holy Cradle. She acted as a Pilgrim, using the name Laura and enticing some of the inhabitants of Carpazinha to join the town.

She first appeared in the 15th episode of The Secret in the Woods, entering the Ape Hangers bar on her human form, interacting with Team Kelvin and later taking them to Holy Cradle. The next Blacksmith after her ends up commenting with Team H that she had contracted some respiratory disease and died.

Appearance

Laura first appeared in the Ape Hangers on her Ignarus form, where she was a big, strong woman with fair skin, long blond hair and blue eyes. She wore a light blue sweatshirt, light gray pants and black shoes.

In Holy Cradle, the Blacksmith stayed in her Lusidii form, where, just like all Holy Cradle residents, had gray skin, completely black eyes, pointed ears and stripes on her face, which in her case, came out of the nose and climbed up her face, dividing into two stripes on the forehead and rising up the head, in addition to having stripes that descend from both eyes. She wore a golden armor, consisting of shoulder pads, a breastplate and leggings.

Personality

She used to be very kind and welcoming to people, especially the residents of Holy Cradle, fulfilling her role as leader of the city.

Biography

Little is known about the Blacksmith’s past, but, apparently, she would have been born in Holy Cradle and later became the leader of the town. She was very interested in Team Kelvin in the time she met them, specially Miguel Cariad. After the shown events on the 15th episode, the Blacksmith and Miguel officially became a couple, developing a lovely relationship, with Miguel living as her Helper by a time. Due to her work to feed the Holy, the Blacksmith had several sons, being the first The Gatekeeper and the others the Sources. It is reported by Miguel that the Blacksmith had contracted some respiratory disease and, due to her advanced age, had died 10 years ago (10 days outside of HC) before Team H arrived in town.

Relationships

• Holy Cradle Residents: Being the leader of Holy Cradle, the Blacksmith did everything to protect its inhabitants.
• Miguel Cariad: The Blacksmith showed interest in Miguel from the first time she saw him, both for his usefulness in Holy Cradle and her lovely attraction. She confided and related closely with him during the time Miguel spent alone in the city. In confrontation with Team Kelvin, the Blacksmith was very hurt to be betrayed, but soon after, was relieved by his decision to change sides and protect Holy Cradle. They lived as a couple until she died eventually.
• Kenan Thomas and Mariana Larona: The Blacksmith became interested in the two the first time she saw them due to the athletic size of both, which would be very useful in the city. She treated them with sympathy and receptivity at first. However, after discovering the team’s true goal, she proved furious and offensive, which culminated in Mariana’s death and Kenan’s imprisonment within the Cavern.
• The Gatekeeper: It is reported by the Gatekeeper himself that his mother loved him very much and that, being her first child, she didn't have the courage to put him to be a Source how it should be done. It was said that she took him out of his cubicle and raised him with love and affection. Despite having different goals as adults, the Gatekeeper loved the Blacksmith very much and was grateful to her for freeing him from his suffering.
