The Telepsy is a creature of Energy with complements of Death and Fear that emerged from the legend about a cursed VHS tape of the same name that contains a mysterious and terrible recording. The reports of those who owned the tape mixed with false reports of people who just wanted attention. However, all those who proved to have the tape died soon after.
No one seems to be able to describe what’s on the recording, not even its length. Everyone who tries has a fit of maddening hysteria, constantly repeating the words "Rewind Through" in a panic attack. It is theorized that to defeat the creature it is necessary to destroy the tape, even though it is impossible to determine an origin for it, since no one remembers what they did with it after watching it.
Telepsy came to be mentioned in the 7th episode of Signals from the Other Side, with its tape appearing in one of the rooms on the fifth floor of the TV Varminho's Tower.[1] However, Morato Vertaler ended up destroying the tape with his machine gun.
Appearance[]
Telepsy is a humanoid creature who wears a tie and a long black overcoat over its skeletal and cadaveric body, having in its head a kind of ancient television where disturbing and maddening images are transmitted. No one knows what is in the film recordings, only knowing that its content is horrible.
Behaviour[]
Telepsy eventually meets everyone who has ever watched its tape, watching them as it distorts and disintegrates, leaving only a black spot in the shape of a silhouette where it killed its victims. Telepsy can emerge from screens and displays, which makes it easy to reach its victims in hard-to-reach locations, but which have a kind of screen or viewfinder that can appear to disintegrate its target. Unless the VHS tape containing the film is destroyed, even if Telepsy is defeated, it is only a matter of time before it returns.
Trivia[]
- Telepsy was based on a meme that Cellbit watched about a man using a TV as his head.[2][3]
- Cellbit confirmed that Telepsy's tape appearance in Signals from the Other Side was only an "Easter Egg" due to the several community theories about the supposed appearance of the creature, even without any reference to it throughout the campaign.[4]
