Chizue Akechi

Team Kelvin was a group of people whose disappearances makes the protagonists of The Secret in the Forest go to the city of Carpazinha, in Rio Grande do Sul's interior, to investigate paranormal activity in the region. It was composed by Kenan Thomas, Miguel Cariad and Mariana Larona, and it was described as the Order's most efficient team in national territory. Later, Team H finds that the trio was lured to the hidden town of Holy Cradle by The Blacksmith, and supposedly disappeared after entering the Infinite Labyrinth. The origin of the team name has never been explained, but it is likely that it was chosen by Kenan to represent the first letter of his name.

Characteristics

Team Kelvin was composed by Kenan Thomas, Miguel Cariad and Mariana Larona, three members of the Order described by Mr. Verity as highly experienced and methodical.

In the photo that Team H received when they accepted the mission, It is possible to see two tall and strong men, both about 6.56 feet, with military haircuts and a serious expression on the face. It is also possible to see a woman with approximately 5.9 feet, black skin and afro hair. All are wearing black robes. The professionalism that this team transmitted to those who observe them was undeniable. In addition, they had the exact same tattoo on their right arm as a form of identification.

History

Report made by the members of Team Kelvin

Team Kelvin was formed around 2010, with three extremely efficient recruits of the Order, both physically and mentally. They were trained by Arnaldo Fritz, considered a mentor by the team until his supposed death in search of how to stop Kian. In the meantime, they traveled all over the country, solving dozens of cases involving occultist activities and along the way becoming great friends.

After following a trail of two occultists, doctors Eric Jour and Eva van Gloss, by months, the new team's contact, Chizue Akechi (called Mrs. Verity by the team), shows them a case of a man's murder, Rafael Montes, in a road at Rio Grande do Sul's interior. Rafael had the Symbol on his forehead, that was recognized by the team as from the "Project HC". His wife and daughter disappeared. Already in Carpazinha, Team Kelvin interviews Ivete, owner of the bar Ape Hangers, and the last person that saw the Montes' family alive. After a night on the bar, Kenan, Miguel and Mariana meets a woman named Laura - later identified as The Blacksmith - and follow her to the town of Holy Cradle, hidden in the forest.

Realizing the scope of the occultistmanifestation that is Holy Cradle, Miguel remains to investigate the case further as Kenan and Mariana return to Ape Hangers to send a report to the Order.

"Staying in a hotel next to where the body was found, we identified involvement of the Esoterrorist group. The problem is bigger than we thought, no doubt. Phone coverage in the region is almost non-existent. More info soon."

When they return, Kenan and Mariana discover that it already passed two weeks inside the village despite having spent an hour outside. Miguel says he found out how to enter the labyrinth in the center of the place. In the meantime, Miguel became The Blacksmith’s lover and noted that she has the Symbol marked on her body that is, probably, the thing she uses to guide herself in the labyrinth. Mariana marks the symbol on Miguel's chest with a knife and the trio heads to the center of the labyrinth. There, The Blacksmith surprises them and ends up convincing Miguel to finish his partners. He shoots Mariana in the head and locks Kenan in a cell along with the Sources. Years later (on Holy Cradle), Miguel became The Blacksmith, the leader of the Holy Cradle community.

A month later, Mr. Verity reunites a new Order team to investigate Team Kelvin's whereabouts: the futurely named Team H. Eventually, that team manages to locate Kenan in the center of the labyrinth and he tells them what happened with his team.

Mentors

• Arnaldo Fritz: Arnaldo was a famous actor, who used his renown as a front for his secret activities with the Order, being one of the most experienced and renowned agents of the organization. He was responsible for training Team Kelvin, bur, after his supposed death, Chizue took his place as mentor. Later, at Holy Cradle, Team Kelvin meets Arnaldo, that attacks the team at the city's hotel, later being revealed as a Guilt Parasite pretending to be their mentor.

• Chizue Akechi: Chizue is an agent of Ordo Realitas that returned as mentor of Team Kelvin, due to the increase in paranormal cases and the disappearance of Arnaldo Fritz, attributing with the murder case of Rafael Montes. She met Miguel Cariad, Mariana Larona and Kenan Thomas and charged them to investigate the Carpazinha case.

Members

• Kenan Thomas: Kenan was an experienced agent of Ordo Realitas that was investigating Project HC, on Carpazinha, with his allies. Kenan was betrayed by Miguel and witnessed him killing his partner, soon after being locked in a cell in the caves of the Holy Cradle Labyrinth, becoming a Source. He was saved by Team H after decades locked, accompaining the group to the Dimensions Parasite, who consumes the body of his former ally, who tried to stop them from destroying the Parasite, but eventually turned him into the God of Death, making Kenan completely insane. Kenan starts going towards the team with the explosive in hand and Cesar, in an act of despair, shot the man before he pressed the button.

• Mariana Larona: Mariana was a personal trainer coming from São Paulo, that just like her colleagues, was one of the best paranormal investigators in the country. She was recruited to solve the Carpazinha case, along with her team, based on the body of Rafael Montes, who had an occultist symbol marked on his forehead. Mariana was killed by Miguel, her teammate who betrayed his allies, getting shot in the head and falling hard on the ground.

• Miguel Cariad: Miguel was an experienced agent of Ordo Realitas, along with his friends. The trio was investigating Project HC, on Carpazinha, a city on Rio Grande do Sul's interior. Miguel, after spending weeks in Holy Cradle, settled in the place, which led him to betray his teammates, killing Mariana and locking Kenan, later becoming The Blacksmith and killed by Team H.
