Kian knows... None of this will exist.
Rana[1]
Rana was an Escribe that grew up at the St. Menefreda Orphanage. She first appeared in the 6th episode of Deconjuration, where she used a Paralysis Ritual to stop the agents of the Order from approaching Gal.[2]
After Kian's returnal, Rana accompanied the Escribes to the Famiglia Leone's mansion to murder their residents and open their safe, but she ended up being killed by Joui Jouki while conjuring a ritual to teleport the remaining Escribes to safety.[3]
Appearance[]
Childhood[]

As a child, Rana had her hair with a fringe and a bun, with long wicks in front of her ears, she wore a dark shirt, with light pants, along with black sneakers and socks.[4]
Deconjuration and Calamity[]

Rana was a fair-skinned woman, dark hair tied in a bun and with a fringe that covered her forehead, and whitish eyes. She had Escribes tattoos all around her body, besides having the Japanese character 鬼 (Oni/Demon) on her cheek. Also like the other Escribes, Rana walked barefoot, wore a beige blanket over her shoulders and a darker fabric that leaves her abdomen revealed. Rana also had two fans that she carries in her hands, which have the kanjis 死 (death) and 知識 (knowledge).
After being dismembered by Joui Jouki and having her body dumped in a place with a damaged veil, she went through the transformation of a Mutilated Zombie, becoming a bestial reddish creature with a purple tongue curled all over its body, spikes projected from its spine, a huge mouthpiece and new limbs that grew in place of those who were severed.[5]
Personality[]
Rana was a calm, serene woman and, like the rest of the Escribes, loyal to Kian and his plan. The Escribe cared about the health of her companions, always seeking to heal their wounds and provide the necessary help. Faced with a situation of extreme danger, such as the massacre of Joui Jouki, Rana lost her serene posture and was terrified, but still prioritized the other Escribes, waiting for everyone to escape while keeping the portal open.
Biography[]
Past[]
Rana grew up at the St. Menefreda Orphanage with the other orphans. During her childhood, Rana was quite rebellious, having challenged Anthony Scelto hiding the keys to the dorm of Sister Thelma.[6] After the 2009 orphanage fire, caused by a "game" created by The Host in order to kill Kian,[7] where several orphans died in the flames, Rana entered the Escribes.
Deconjuration[]
With the other Escribes, Rana was present at the St. Menefreda Orphanage when the Order agents were almost escaping, using a Paralysis Ritual to prevent the agents from approaching Gal.
Calamity[]
A long time after Kian's returnal, Rana accompanies the Escribes to Italy, using her ritual to teleport the other occultists to the Famiglia Leone's mansion. The Escribes cause a massacre at the residence, murdering every Leone they see on their way. Once at the mansion’s underground base, Rana leaves for a while and later returns joined by Kian, who wants to see the contents of the family safe. However, all those present are alerted by screams coming from the main hall upstairs.
There, they meet Joui Jouki stepping above the bodies of torn Escribes. Joui recognizes Rana as the occultist who paralyzed his team in the orphanage and screams on her direction, causing the Escribe to scream and lock herself in the room behind her in order to open a portal to get everyone in the mansion. She succeeds and holds on to the ritual as the others escape and, as she was about to enter, feels her neck being grabbed by Joui. Enraged, he asks where his enemies are headed, and in one last act of loyalty, Rana spits in his face. Joui releases her neck, which falls to the ground causing the portal to close, and is ultimately torn apart by Joui’s katana.
Rituals[]

Notes and references[]
Notes[]
- ↑ It is known that Rana possessed this ritual because, after her death, one of her fans was cursed with it. In all known cases so far, a transcendible item cursed by someone's death carried one of the rituals of its creator.
