Paranormal Order

Paranormal Order is a fictional universe and brand created by brazilian streamer Cellbit.^[1]

Currently, its main branch is the tabletop RPG episodes exhibited at saturdays 6PM BRT, in Cellbit's Twitch channel. Reruns occur all tuesdays, at same time on Twitch, and on thursdays, the episode was published on the channel Lives do Cellbit on YouTube. Recently, the channel Ordem Paranormal (Paranormal Order) was created for this.

Enigma of Fear, an exploration game set on Paranormal Order universe, is in development since 2020,^[2] and is expected to be released in November 28, 2024.^[3]

Story[]

From the beginning, there wasn't an idea of creating a fictional universe with the currently proportion that Paranormal Order has, but with four friends and a small production team, Cellbit put his first story in the first Tabletop RPG campaign.

The first series season, The Paranormal Order, had its first episode exhibited in February 29, 2020 on the streamer's Twitch channel. When the first season ended, Cellbit started to draft something bigger, with a bigger team, and a new campaign was coming up to reality.

Now with six members (including the GM), Cellbit presented The Secret in the Forest, the second series season. The new story had the goal of having the terror theme, with mystery and suspense - in a full-open expanded universe - and it ended in 16 episodes.

For the next season announcement, Cellbit created an ARG (Alternative reality game), the Deconjuration and Enigma of Fear ARG. This game lasted from October 14 to 17, and in the end, along with the third season announcement, Paranormal Order: Deconjuration, the production of a game set in this same universe was revealed: Enigma of Fear.

Enigma of Fear is a game produced with Dumativa Game Studio, a brazilian videogame developer team. The crowdfunding of this project achieved the initial goal of R$500 thousand in less than five hours after the announcement, and in the end, more than R$4 million were raised.^[4] The game is going to be available to PC (Steam) and other consoles like Playstation, XBOX and Nintendo Switch.^[5]^[6]

For the fourth season, another alternative reality game was created, the Calamity ARG. This game lasted from August 27 to 29, and in the end, along the announcement of Paranormal Order: Calamity, there was the reveal of this being the first season face-to-face, using a studio in São Paulo.

During the season, amid the fourth season hiatus, Cellbit announced more three spin-off seasons, being the first one called The Secret in the Island and the second called Signals from the Other Side.

First Season[]

The first Paranormal Order season, according to Cellbit, was inspired in The Esoterrorists system, from Robin D. Laws, published in 2006. It had only 2 episodes (with the second being splitted in two parts on YouTube), having in the cast Luba, Gabi Cattuzzo, Rakin and LJoga, as well as Cellbit as the Game Master. The story began presenting agents from the secret organization Ordo Realitas (at the time, "Ordo Veritatis"), that were in charge to investigate a mysterious school, source of high paranormal activity signals after an inexplicable fire. Going there, the investigators team not only finds brutal murders and terrific monsters, but a cult that, with the school workers, used the own students as test subjects, trying to create new creature beings and weak the veil even more.

Second Season[]

The second season used the Call of Cthulhu system, originally published in 1981. This one began at April 11, 2020, and lasted 16 episodes, having the initial players and now, additioning Calango and Guaxinim, as well as the special cameos of Felps, Kalera and Leo Santi. In this season, the Order sends their agents to an isolated city, in Rio Grande do Sul's interior, called Carpazinha. In the region, the new-formed team finds a village (called Holy Cradle) created by an occultist scientists group, that used the own habitants energy to feed a "Holy One" in trade of a "perfect city".

Third Season[]

The third season continues the second one, also inspired by Call of Cthulhu. The first episode was live at October 31, 2020, presenting Triz Pariz and João Miranda as new cast players, as well as Kalera joining the main cast and the special cameos of Alanzoka, Bastet and again, Felps. In Deconjuration, the Order agents are chasing the mysteries of a cult that kidnapped not only one of their agents, but also a lot of homelessness people, by request of a "bigger group". Therefore, the team embarks in an adventure against various occultist groups to save their agent and defend their own Reality from a bigger threat.

Fourth Season[]

The fourth season was confirmed at the end of Deconjuration, and announced officialy in August's end. It started at September 4, 2021, where Calango, Gabi Cattuzzo, Guaxinim and Rakin returns, along with Felps that now makes part of the main cast. Those five are the Order's markeds, that are searching the Relics of Calamity to stop Kian, that also brought his own Markeds: João Miranda, LJoga and Triz Pariz returns from the Realizer of the Calamity's side, and two new players make part of this team: Mount and Zero. Luba also returns, continuing to portray Joui being part of the main cast, while Kalera returns as a special guest alongside Abelha and Bastet.

Fifth Season[]

The fifth season was announced at a special event held at June 18, 2022. Using the own Paranormal Order RPG system, Cellbit introduces a new story with new characters, still connected to Calamity, but it could be watched without having to watch the others. At June 25, 2022, Gabi Cattuzzo and Rakin, the series veterans, join Beamom, Cinemagrath and Goularte to solve the mysteries of a missing painter inside a mansion in an isolated island.

Sixth Season[]

The sixth season, being the second spin-off, was announced in the end of the special Revealing The Secret in the Island, at August 20, 2022. Beginning at October 29, 2022, a new story with new characters reunites a group formed by Carolinga, Felps, Gary, Guaxinim and LJoga. The Five must investigate the disappearance of their mentor, that went missing while searching about a creature type named Alien. During the season, Rakin makes a special cameo, portraying the actor Arnaldo Fritz again.

Two-Shot Special[]

Amid the main campaigns, an one-shot special was announced in the second event of Revealed Secrets, in September 17, 2023. Starting at September 23, becoming a two-shot, Cellbit introduces the tabletop RPG of the universe to the world for the first time, having global content creators like Baghera Jones, Foolish, Quackity, Roier and Pac as players. Throughout the campaign, Gabi Cattuzzo also joins the creators, and Rakin makes a special cameo.

Enigma of Fear[]

Enigma of Fear is a future game directed by Cellbit in partnership with Dumativa. Inspired by the RPG events and set in the Paranormal Order universe, the player controls Mia searching her missing father, Mr. Verity, the Ordo Realitas leader.

The idea for Paranormal Order emerged when Cellbit thought that, in reality, ghosts were translucent because of an attempt by the mind to conceal the creature so that the individual would not go insane.^[11]
The game HellSign inspired Cellbit to create the Paranormal Order universe.^[12]
