Otávio Nemiera[1]
Otávio Nemiera Souza was a resident from Tipora Island, where he worked as an officer.
He first appeared in the 2nd episode of The Secret in the Island, being seen at the village barbecue while passing by to pick up a plate of food, having a brief conversation with Bárbara and Milo.[2] During the 8th episode of The Secret in the Island, he got caught by the Imaginary Friend and dissolved by the creature.[3]
Appearance[]
Otávio was a tall, skinny young adult with dark hair and green eyes. He wore a blue jacket over a white T-shirt, plus a pair of pants that is his gun holster and dark shoes.
Personality[]
Otávio was a very anxious young man and shows to be very nervous with more serious situations, always sought help from Evandro to guide him in the serious cases of the island, also being very friendly with the residents, apologizing for the attitudes of his brother and offering help to others. After the events of "Cliff", Otávio begins to adopt a more confident and focused posture, following in the footsteps of Evandro.

Otávio Nemiera Souza was born in October 18, 1998, on Tipora Island, place where he lived with his parents and his two younger brothers, a family originated from the former employees of the Moretti's Mansion.
In mid-2020, he became a police officer and apprentice of Evandro Eiland, the delegate of the island, becoming responsible with him in protecting the residents. During his leisure time, Otávio used his typewriter present in his home as a hobby to practice and aim for his great dream of becoming a writer.
The Secret in the Island[]
Day 2[]
At dusk, Otávio is seen at the Church Barbecue while passing by to fetch a plate of food, having a brief conversation with Bárbara and Milo complaining about the conduct of his younger brothers, Pedrinho and Vitinho.
Day 3[]
In the third day, Otávio is seen calling at the door of the mansion with Evandro, Barnabé and Adrian seeking for Amora Aleno's whereabouts, that had disappeared. Without much information, he and Evandro go towards the docks.
Hours later, at the end of the day, they meet with Milo and Olivier that found Amora at the beach and a traumatizing scene, spotting the dead body of Cavalcante Bueno, with his face completely disfigured leaning against a stone. Even in shock, he assists Evandro in the negotiations and appeasing the situation upon the arrival of the curious who approached the scene of the crime. Subsequently, accompanies Lívia Lima back to home.
Day 4[]
The day after Cavalcante’s murder, Otávio goes to the mansion with Adrian to question the residents. During the procedure, he feels anxious and shy through the conversation with Amelie Florence and suspicion of Olivier due to the suspicious answers during the questions made. After the interrogation, he informs the new visitors about the rally at the church that will be held the same day later and returns to the village.
During the rally, after a widespread discussion, Evandro requests Otávio to handcuff Bartô Castello for being the biggest suspect of the murder, and when approaching, in a fit of rage, Bartô punches Evandro and a confusion begins. After calming him down, they manage to effect the arrest and go to the police station.
In the course of the trail, Otávio shows himself anxious and confused trying to appease the situation, being constantly contested by Bárbara and Milo not complying with his request to stay away, desperate and not knowing what to do, he departs towards Montel ande Angelina and require their presence at the station to question them.
Day 5[]
At the dawn on the fifth day, Otávio and Evandro go to the mansion to make the arrest of Montel after the identification of his fingerprints on Cavalcante's painting, taking him to the station.
Arriving there, they are faced with an invasion of infected wild animals to the village, and with the help of Wanderley they exterminate the rest of the creatures and notice the presence of a trail of the brownish liquid going towards the forest. Soon, they decide to separate into groups and Otávio, Evandro, Bárbara and Milo leave to find out the origin of these creatures. Along the way, the tracks lead them to the Lighthouse, where they find several dead creatures at the top of the building and the lightkeeper missing, they decide to go to the mansion, once there was another trail straight through the forest.
Upon arriving at the mansion, they see a bizarre scene: Celestino, the lightkeeper, with a beastly posture advancing towards Lívia. However, something seemed wrong with Evandro making him vomit and then fainting, Otávio in need of protecting the others approaches to help in the conflict and managing to extinguish the threat. Wanderley arrives at the scene and assists Otávio calming down and picks up Evandro to take to his sister Návia, to see if he was okay.
Upon arriving at the village, Otávio notices the agglomeration in the police station but goes towards Návia to help Evandro in the house of the doctor of Tipora. Realizing the death of Bartô and the state of crisis present in Tipora, Otávio sees himself desperate and aimless with the absence of Evandro to guide him, Wanderley motivates him and both go to the police station to calm the crowd. There, he seeks to mirror his actions with those of Evandro, and discover that someone hid the keys to the boat and decide to make an emergency meeting to decide the next steps to evacuate the island. During the meeting, everyone decides to stay in their homes to protect themselves and Otávio is responsible for maintaining the welfare of the village.
Day 6[]
During the last day on the island, at dusk, Otávio is seen running away through the forest from Bartô's corpse that had arisen, along the way he meets with thevisitors who assist him in combat and eliminate the creature. Knowing the possible return of Cavalcante’s body in Návia’s house, Otávio runs off to the village.
Arriving there, at Návia’s house, he comes across the corpse of Cavalcante that hurts him and the group helps him eliminating the danger. Otávio enters the house euphoric to see if everyone is okay, and on the spot, Evandro wakes up from his coma and everyone says Barnabé Aleno was the killer and the painter of the mysterious paintings. They later decide to take Evandro to the church to confront the threat discovered.
In the church, nervous, Otávio witnessed the creature being invoked by Barnabé. Seeking to save all the residents present from within the site, and be the best version of their mentor, Evandro Eiland, he ends up being caught by the tentacles of the Imaginary Friend and being completely dissolved.[3]

Relationships[]
- Evandro Eiland: Otávio is extremely faithful to Evandro and follows him to most places during his shift, obeying his orders and trying to be useful during cases. Evandro is worried about Otávio, but also very confident in the boy.
- Pedro Nemiera: Otávio does not approve of the way Pedrinho acts, always trying to apologize to others for his brother’s actions, although he still thinks he does all this just to get attention and not out of malice.
Trivia[]
- Otávio said in the 2nd episode that while Pedrinho did not commit a crime, they could not arrest him, however, it's discovered in "Prophecy" that Pedrinho was already arrested for threatening to throw Bisteca in the village's well.
