Living double lives, Ordo Realitas agents, spread across the world, secretly investigate and prevent the paranormal from being formed, fighting against those who only wish to bring chaos to the world.

Introduction of the Universe

Ordo Realitas, Order of Reality or just Order, is the main organization responsible for maintaining the well-being of Veil and protecting it from Occultists who seek to weaken it in search of power and ambition of their own. The Ordo Realitas was once a secret organization with the aim of combating paranormal influence and hiding the existence of paranormal entities from the common world, but due to the advancement of occult knowledge, this had to change.

Organization and Recruitment[]

Current symbol of the Order

Currently, Ordo Realitas has its main base of operations located in the city of São Paulo, in the basement of the facade bar, Ape Hangers. During the Order's past, all agents referred to themselves as "Mx. Verity" to protect their true identities. However, currently, only the Leader of the Ordo Realitas is referred to as Mx. Verity.

Agents working for the organization are typically recruited on a low-key basis and are trained by senior members before their first direct contact with the organization. Usually these people are ordinary citizens who have already experienced some kind of contact with the supernatural, and, either because they have curiosity, personal motivations or determination to fight against the paranormal, they become potential recruits of interest to the Order. Among the functions of the agents of the Order are:

  • exterminate all supernatural creatures they come into contact with;
  • assist your mobile teams with information and battles in the field;
  • catalog and report the cases and investigations they face;
  • prevent activities of occult groups;
  • avoid unnecessary exposure of civilians to the paranormal as much as possible.

In the case of incidents that require the immediate attention of members of the organization, it is common for a team, normally composed of at least three people,[1] to be sent to the place of interest to conduct investigations. For cases known to be more dangerous and complex, teams with more agents and containing at least some veterans are sent. Previously, the teams barely had contact or even knowledge of the existence of the others, however, after the changes suffered in the structure of the organization between April and October 2020, there was a greater interaction between the agents. With the Order's new methods being updated and changed, their way of searching for and finding new paranormal cases and actions has also changed, with the Research Team utilizing the S.I.R.C. to detect occult activities.

Irregular Crimes Sector (ICS)[]

Access to restricted or prohibited places, permission to carry firearms, or authority to assume jurisdiction of police investigations. These are some examples of bureaucratic things that an Ordo Realitas agent needs for any mission that involves, directly or indirectly, at least one civilian; these are also things that, normally, such agents would not have easy access to. However, thanks to the ICS (Irregular Crimes Sector), this is all made accessible.

Distintivo Falso

The Irregular Crimes Sector is nothing more than a front division of the police that, as the name suggests, deals with abnormal crimes, or rather, paranormal ones. Having been created by the Order itself, this pseudo-organization is used by agents to deceive guards or civilians who inadvertently question their authority.

It is known that, currently, Felix Fontana is the director of the ICS.

Mxes. Verity[]

Throughout the history of the Ordo Realitas, numerous agents have been considered "Mxes. Verity". In the past, whether for safety or simply self-preservation, their identities were kept secret from each other. Masks were worn and this universal false name was used, making everyone apparently equal, except for one specific exception: the leader, the "real" Mx. Verity.

Currently, agents are aware of each other's identities. However, the one who holds the title of Verity is the one who leads the others.

Responsible for making critical decisions, coordinating operations, training agents, designating teams, managing resources, managing important relationships and, above all, acting as an example to be followed, the real Mx. Verity is not only the leader of Ordo Realitas, but also is the Order itself.

Listed below are all known Mxes. Verity, so far.

Previous Mr. Verity[]

This Mr. Verity was the leader of the Order back in the 1980s. He was the one who recruited and trained the current Mr. Verity, passing on the leadership to him after his death.

Current Mr. Verity[]

The current leader of the Ordo Realitas. Mr. Verity joined the organization around 1985, when he was just 25 years old.[2] Having been in the Order for almost forty years, Verity has participated in several missions, eliminated countless creatures and occultists and trained multiple agents. Currently, however, his whereabouts are unknown.

Chizue Akechi[]

Chizue Akechi, also known as Mrs. Verity, is the oldest living agent of the Order. Having been part of the Annihilators and faced several creatures alongside the current Mr. Verity, Chizue is like the current "vice leader" of the organization, as she has the same basic functions as a Verity and still maintains that title.

Mrs. Verity[]

Mentioned in the official and canonical mission The Terminal of Doom, Mrs. Verity is the one who gives the mission briefing to the agents (player characters). Described as "a calm and centered person", it is unknown whether the title refers to Chizue Akechi or someone else.

Agents[]

Teams[]

Currently led by Mr. Verity, agents of the Order often gather in teams to investigate cases. Some of these teams are listed below.

Scouting Teams[]

Prior to the reform of the Order's methods, there were two types of teams: investigative teams and scout teams. The first type of team investigated locations, solved cases and forwarded to another specialized team to annihilate creatures and monsters present in the location without leaving a trace. It is known that there has been a merge of the roles of the teams and that now all of them must be able to investigate and annihilate creatures in their cases.

Not all scout teams were fixed, so elite members banded together for isolated cases wearing "Mx. Verity" masks and codenames, remaining anonymous to each other. Usually agents specializing in scouts were connected with heavy weapons and military background. Listed below are some known scout teams and their members.

  • Annihilators: An elite team led by Verity when he was approximately 29 years old. It was a very experienced team that destroyed and annihilated all the supernatural beings and occultists they saw along the way without any failure.

Bases[]

The Coffee Stain[]

After receiving a mysterious message from an anonymous person, Elizabeth Webber, Thiago Fritz and Daniel Hartmann are summoned to a specific location early in the morning for unknown reasons and objectives. The chosen place was a small coffee shop located in a less busy part of the city, known as "The Coffee Stain", which is owned by Ordo Realitas. The small establishment is run by a veteran agent, name unknown, who helps and motivates agents to keep working on cases.

It has a small entrance hall that is considered very comfortable, with a few tables, chairs and the main counter. The coffee machines are in a doorway behind the counter, as are several sectors of corridors and maintenance stairs, and, at the end, an entrance to the parking lot, where the barista parks his van. For his recognition as a member of the Order, Mr. Verity demands that the agents order a peculiar type of coffee, specifically, a "Medium Mocha Coffee with Espresso Shot of Chilean Grains". In this way, the clerk will refer to "Mx. Verity" and deliver not the singular order, but a cup of the agent's favorite drink, whether it be one of the various coffees, teas or juices.[3]

Melindro's Laundry[]

Melindro's Laundry

Still in The Paranormal Order, another place of possession of the Order is presented, a small and simple car wash. There, the Team meets with Mr. Verity for the second time, in order to arm himself and prepare to face the paranormal in the Nostradamus School bunker. The place serves as a "warehouse" for various types of weapons and other objects for the fight against the supernatural, such as revolvers, shotguns, armor, etc.[4]

Alpha Tower[]

A huge building that is located in a very busy area of São Paulo, which is not exactly owned by the Order, but is used a lot by it for meetings and meetings between members. The building is approximately 12 stories high, and in the case of Team H (before it was named that way), the meeting was held on the eighth floor, accessible via the site's third elevator. According to Cesar, the "security system is pathetic" for such a large and important building.[5]

Japanese Restaurant[]

Located in the Liberdade neighborhood in the city of São Paulo, this place is a Japanese food store where Team Kelvin received their last mission. Summoned by Ordo Realitas, the agents met with Chizue Akechi, who was responsible for assigning the group's missions after the death of Arnaldo Fritz, their former mentor, around a round table in which new information regarding the Project HC was exposed.[6]

SP Ape Hangers[]

Mapa Base da Ordem em Livro de Regras

After a long time, with the veil getting weaker and the supernatural getting stronger, the Order started to drop the old tactic of having several small, distinct bases scattered in random places to start creating some incredibly large bases with several resources and agents working, but fewer and more difficult to find. So far, in Paranormal Order: Deconjuration, only a single base has been revealed, being hidden in a bar called "Ape Hangers", a name given to honor the old bar of Ivete, abandoned because of the events of the Case of Carpazinha.[7]

Leone's Mansion[]

After the massacre of the Famiglia Leone, the Leone Mansion became a temporary base for the Order while they carried out their investigations in Italy.

Café's Pizzaria[]

A roadside pizzeria in São Paulo, which in 1997 was secretly used by Arnaldo Fritz and Morato Vertaler, with the intention of identifying, studying and cataloging occult materials. It had a secret room with several investigative documents about paranormal creatures. It is not known if it is still used by the Order, since Arnaldo was the owner of the establishment.

Trivia[]

  • Both the term "Ordo Veritatis" and "Esoterrorists" have been replaced by "Ordo Realitas" and "Occultists" to avoid future copyright issues, as these names originate from the system "The Esoterrorists".
  • Ordo Realitas has two theme songs: "Order" and "Ordo Realitas"
    • "Ordo Realitas" has the leitmotif of the Mr. Verity's theme.
