For the former leader of the Order and of this character, see Mr. Verity (1980).

If these monsters are able to feel something, they’d better feel fear too. Because we’ll be on their way.

Mr. Verity[3]

You can call this Destiny, you can call this God, you can call this Fear... Names don't matter, Kian, and that's why I abandoned mine.

Mr. Verity[4]

Mr. Verity is a main character in the Paranormal Order universe. His true name is still unknown, but this iteration is the most commonly associated with this name, which was used as a generic designation for all agents of Ordo Realitas. He is the leader of the Order and responsible for sending the characters on their missions in all seasons, in addition to having trained several agents of the Order, including his daughter.

It is known that his disappearance is the incident that triggers the events of Enigma of Fear, that makes Mia, his daughter, going after him.

Appearance[]

Signals from the Other Side[]

In 1997, the young 37 years old Verity had his short hair arranged in brown color, a mustache with a brown goatee and chops of the same color. He wore a blue polo shirt underneath his aviator jacket, a gray military pants with a tapered pocket and black shoes. In addition, he also carried a shotgun in his back, with a knife attached to his bandolier.[5]

Paranormal Order[]

Initially, Mr. Verity is presented as an old man in his fifties or sixties, with thin hair and beard, similar to a "typical CEO" cliché of movies, who wears a neat suit and walks always with a correct posture.[6] He would continue to find the team and receive mission information, even disguising himself, as he did in Melindro's Laundry, place that was used to store weapons of the organization.

The Secret in the Forest[]

During the first meeting at the Alpha Tower with Team H to discuss the events that led to the disappearance of Team Kelvin and make the mission's planning to Carpazinha, was described as wearing a suit and continuing to maintain his strong and correct posture.[7]

After the mission's end and the events at Holy Cradle, the agents return to São Paulo at the same meeting point as before. Verity, shaken by the losses of his companions, is described as having a swollen face, with high dark circles that stand out in his desperate and finished eyes.[8]

Deconjuration[]

Mr. Verity is described as a man of tall and strong stature who despite being already in his sixties, still remains in a healthy condition. Verity has short, well-groomed hair, which extends across the sides of his face in the form of sideburns, joining his beard accompanied by a goatee, because of his advanced age both have a gray and whitish tone. He is usually seen wearing a black vest with a white turtleneck shirt underneath, as well as a blue tie and slightly bluer pants, being the same color as his boot. Because of the constant pressure and the responsibility to take care of the Order, he continues with his big dark circles and face.[9]

During the final day in the 20th episode of Deconjuration, Mr. Verity is warned by D-Force in the final battle against Gal, where he was still in his social clothes, but with the sleeves pulled at the elbows and bearing Arnaldo Fritz's old sword.[10] During the fight he suffered several attacks by Gal and also a final explosion from Erin Parker, that partially hurts him, throwing him to Dante's arms and being unable to fight until the end of the day.[11] All wounds would be treated without any apparent scarring.

Calamity[]

In Calamity, Verity presents the same dress, but being much more stripped and messy, his collar and hair are no longer tidy and his goatee beard appears to be larger. It now remains most of the time with sleeves rolled up, and also with skin paler than normal, continuing with his face tired and worried about the next steps of Kian.[12]

Personality[]

Mr. Verity is an extremely courteous and persuasive man, dealing calmly even in the face of the most adverse situations. Even though obstinated in fighting the Paranormal, he usually takes a light approach to whom he thinks still has some salvation, preferring to use dialogue before violence whenever possible at these times - as seen when he freed Agatha in The Paranormal Order, and Dante in Paranormal Order: Deconjuration. It is known that he takes his work very personally and has no problems in creating ties with other members of the Order, referring to them as "family".

Biography[]

Past[]

Verity was born in September 11, 1960.[13] What little is known about his life concerns his many years of service for Ordo Realitas. When he was 25,[14] he joined the Order under circumstances not yet revealed, and there he met one who would be one of his best friends, the actor Arnaldo Fritz. Through missions and cases he participated, he cooperated with several experienced agents, some of them being: Cristopher Cohen, Chizue Akechi and Francisca Parker, also meeting much powerful and influent people from other countries, such as: Marc Menet, Ryder Staten[15] and Marco Leone.

After a few years working for Ordo Realitas, Verity was the leader of an extremely competent elite Scouting team, named Annihilators,[16] and it's known that Arnaldo Fritz, Chizue Akechi and Aaron were part of this team.

Verity describes himself as an "innocent and adventurer" young man when he joined the Order. His first case took place in an abandoned penitentiary that had become a base for occultists. At first, he thought the site was being used for rituals use and did not suspect anything too heavy going on. However, the team he was with, including Arnaldo Fritz, witnessed 6 Blood Zombies devouring an old man and his puppy, in the moment the agents entered the place. It is not known the outcome of the mission and in which region and time it took place.[14]

Signals from the Other Side[]

In October 30, 1997, Verity was with his team, composed by Aaron, Chizue and Arnaldo. By request of Calisto Besatt, the group went to Café's Pizzaria,[5] a little busy roadside pizzeria in the region of Minas Gerais, where Arnaldo told them that would make the study and destruction of some paranormal items that he found in missions. Verity stayed with Chizue and Aaron waiting for Arnaldo, but surprised by the delay of his friend, he entered the backs of the pizzeria, meeting with Arnaldo and his pupil Calisto, in addition of a group of young people that Arnaldo said they would help the Order in the investigation. Verity outlines a smile when he learns of the help and then says goodbye to the group, returning with Arnaldo to the van and leaving.

Approximately in 1998, he had a daughter, Mia, but the details of his relationship and the identity of the girl’s mother are still unknown.

Case: Virgílio "Kian"[]

In the year 2002, after months of investigation, a team of experienced Ordo Realitas agents composed by Mr. Verity, Arnaldo Fritz, Francisca Parker and Chizue Akechi, with the help of Cristopher Cohen,[17] go to the confrontation of the first occultist, called "Kian", and his mysterious Cult of Knowledge, calling themselves Escribes.[18] They overcome the millenarian cult and its leader with a strange ease, but were unsuccessful in saving the lives of victims from the sacrifice of a ritual performed in the place by the occultists.[19] It was Kian’s supposed death that triggered the fall of paranormal cases for 15 years, but, according to Anthony Scelto's diary, "Tirigan", it was part of the plan to make the Order "let their guard down" until Kian returns, since a victim who had been rescued was Leonardo Gomes, who came to harbor Kian's consciousness in his body.[20]

The Paranormal Order[]

In February 29, 2020, Verity sent Thiago Fritz, Elizabeth Webber and Daniel Hartmann to solve a new case. Meeting the group in a big commercial building, Verity informs them about the case they were designated: the death of a firefighter after a fire in Nostradamus High School, also instructing them to use the Irregular Crimes Sector (ICS) badges, created by agents of the Order to facilitate communication and disguise.[21]

On another day during the mission, Verity goes to Elizabeth’s apartment, accompanied by Thiago,[22] where he meets a civilian in precarious conditions, Alexsander Kothe, who was trapped in a cage in the agent’s room. After a great speech on past missions,[14] Verity informs that the team will need to do a "Scout" at the crime scene, because the Order does not have enough resources to hire the services of another team, leaving soon after.

Later, Verity contacts the agents to meet him in one of the Order's bases, the Melindro's Laundry, there the veteran offers the team several equipment that would be needed to perform the Scout,[23] also freeing Agatha Volkomenn, the teenager that had been taken by the agents to the meeting with the leader.

The Secret in the Forest[]

In April 11, around 10 AM, Verity met a new team in the Alpha Tower, at Faria Lima Avenue, in São Paulo. The group was Joui Jouki, Cristopher Cohen, Cesar Oliveira, Thiago Fritz and Elizabeth Webber. In meeting, he says to the group that over the last 30 years, the Veil was becoming more strong and resilient, and the Occultists were closed to extinction. The world had come very close to having reality completely healed.[24] However, worrying things were happening; in recent months, paranormal events began to occur at a frequency and intensity never seen before. The Veil was in the most debilitated state ever recorded in history. Giving to the group a photo, Verity introduces to them Team Kelvin,[25] a highly experienced team that disappeared after being sent to Carpazinha, city located in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. In other photo, he gives the image of a Spiral Symbol marked in the victim's forehead, which is what drew the attention of the Order to the case.[26] Along with the images, he also delivers the last report sent by Team Kelvin. At the end of the meeting and with a quick wish for luck, Verity leaves, leaving the team preparing for the trip.

After the mission is concluded, Elizabeth, Joui, Cesar, Arthur and Verity meet in the Alpha Tower, in the center of São Paulo. Verity was already visibly down and with visible grief for the deceased team members,[8] since Thiago was son of his best friend Arnaldo Fritz and Cristopher his friend and longtime companion. Even so Liz confronts him, pouring into him the frustration she felt and handing him the mission report. Mr. Verity starts to vent, saying that he does not understand why all the missions of the Order have resulted in failures and deaths. He says he no longer sees any alternative but to appeal to a new approach with the Other Side. With this, the group and principally Elizabeth are surprised by Agatha Volkomenn, in Gabriel Opspor's body, with a smug smile on her face.[27]

Deconjuration[]

Six months after the events of The Secret in the Forest and the building of an underground base below the bar Ape Hangers in São Paulo, Verity gives a new mission to a new group, composed by Beatrice, Erin, Fernando, Luciano, Tristan, Arthur, Kaiser and later Joui. In a meeting, Verity explains the case of two agents that were missing, probably by a paranormal interference, Elizabeth Webber and her apprentice Gustavo Dohmer. After telling the details and designating the mission, Verity bids farewell for the team.[28]

Later, Verity, that was in the Order's base, is questioned by Kaiser that found a document signed by Verity himself to erase all informations about St. Menefreda Orphanage, that which according to the investigations made by the agents was possibly where Elizabeth was taken. Going deeper, Kaiser finds bank slips signed by Mr. Verity, however, the account was named "Fritz". Verity is surprised by the course of the case and gives the agents a photo that clearly showed Arnaldo Fritz with a priest and a nun surrounded by childrens, one of them clearly being the new Order agent, Beatrice Portinari.[29] After reuniting the entire team, they question the leader about the location of the site, but Verity says he never even knew where this place was. With this, after a brief discussion, Arthur asks access to the cells of the Order to question an occultist who grew up in the Orphanage, and with confidence Verity gives him permission.[30] But he decides to go with the agents to explain the situation of Dante and how he was captured, upon arriving in the cell and analyzing the behavior of the occultist, the leader reports that he does not see Dante as a dangerous person and releases him to go with the team to the orphanage.

After the return of the agents, Verity accommodates them in his room along with Naomi Akechi and Chizue Akechi. The group reports the result of the mission, announcing Elizabeth’s death, the description of the tattoos of the occultists and the word "Deconjuration". Verity is incredulous with the new information and hearing the name "Kian" he becomes extremely nervous, claiming that in the past, he killed Kian with his own hands even though the agents said that saw him in the orphanage. Verity advises the team to rest before going to the ceremony in honor of Liz in the cemetery, so that after that more informations about Kian is discussed. Joui asks that Dante be assigned to the investigation and free from prison, Verity approves the idea and integrates the occultist to Ordo Realitas. A little later, Mr. Verity arrives at Elizabeth’s grave, and says goodbye to the agent, saying that she was not an easy person to deal with, but was one of the best investigators the Order ever had.[31] At the end of the farewells, all the agents headed back to the base.

Back at base, Verity, accompanied by Chizue and Agatha, explains more about Kian to the team: this is the name of the first occultist in history, having more than 4000 years of existence. He is responsible for the Cult of Knowledge, a formal name given to the Escribes. He stayed alive using rituals and sees himself as an immortal being, a god of Knowledge, Verity believed that killed him in 2002, together with Arnaldo, Francisca, Chizue and Cristopher, when he used the name "Virgílio", on a mission to intercept an occultist group.[18] While arguing with the agents about some information he had discovered about the case, he realizes that something is wrong, whispers and noises are heard outside the room and then Verity quickly realizes that the base of the Order was being invaded. He removes the frame from the wall and triggers an emergency alarm, also revealing a safe with several weapons. The agents take their equipment and leave the room. Leticia informs Verity that all cells of the base are being opened. And after everyone opens the door to the main hall, they are greeted by various occultists dressed in white clothes, ropes tied around their necks and masks on their faces, with their leader standing out in the center, a black-skinned woman with braided hair and who used a flashy Mask of Despair. One of the occultists was holding a sword to Ivete’s neck, footsteps are heard coming from the direction of the cells, and to everyone’s surprise, Nathaniel, one of the most dangerous occultists who were imprisoned, leaves with a smile on his face.[32] After these events Verity barely appeared in the Order in the following days.

In the Final Day of Deconjuration, Verity, joined by Clarissa, Alexia, Samantha and Aaron, intercepts the battle between the D-Force and Gal, quickly blocking a blow delivered by the Escribe, that was going to kill Arthur, but the leader arrives in the last second,[10] saving the agent's life and saying:

Eyes always open!

Mr. Verity

Something that Arnaldo always said to Verity,[33] he was wielding the old sword that his partner used, the veteran then begins to participate in the fight against Gal, hurting him but being counterattacked soon after, taking much damage and being thrown back by the occultist’s Ereshkigal. After an intense battle, where Alexia and Samantha end up dead and Erin Parker explodes, an attack that hit Verity partially caused him to pass out during the rest of the events,[11] making him not seeing Fernando's death and Kaiser's sacrifice, also not seeing Kian returning as a Marked. He is saved by the Sect of the Masks with the help of Joui Jouki, being teleported back to the Order's base.[34]

At the base, Verity, completely wounded and weak, leaves his room, telling Arthur, Dante and Aaron, the only agents who left the battle alive against Gal and Kian, that they need to continue fighting. Dante is furious at this line, asking how they will fight with this force, as they were all pawns in a much larger game. Verity again points out that they cannot let the death of all be in vain, and that the fight against the Paranormal cannot justify a genocide, something that Kian wants to do to realize his plan, they should fight to protect those they love and prevent others from losing other loved ones. Verity for the first time shows his fragile side to the agents, giving a strong hug to Arthur.[35] Verity says that Kian may have an unmatched power, but he doesn’t have a family, and that’s what sets him apart from the Order.

He begins to walk, staggering, towards his office, and there, he, along with Arthur and Dante, meets The Magistrate, while Verity removes the picture from the colosseum again, typing the safe's digital password. The agents see Verity holding up a large black book with gold details, which contained a symbol on the cover. He explains that this is the life work of Arnaldo, who dedicated most of his life investigating the existence of objects known as Relics of Calamity, and wrote down everything he knew in this Grimoire. The masks explain that these relics are Paranormal objects that have an immeasurable power and can only be used by Markeds. Carrying one of these relics is the equivalent of having a complete Paranormal Exposure, something comparable to Kian’s power, also revealing that the Despair Mask, used by the leader, is one of these relics.[36] Verity then says that Kian knows that the Order will go after these Relics, and that he will recruit his own Markeds to get them. At the same time, to protect Reality, the Order will have to search for them to use them and stop Kian. It'll be a battle from two sides: a clash of Markeds against Markeds. A war for the power of the Calamity.[37]

Calamity[]

After ten months that have passed since the events of the Final Day of Deconjuration, Verity began to work non-stop to strengthen the Order, recruiting new agents and contacting former allies to help in the fight against Kian. In addition, he spends all these months seeking information about the location of the Escribes and trying to contact the Masks that were present in the Order without revealing anything. In September 4, 2021, Verity sends Arthur and Dante to Bariguara, to investigate along with Rubens, Carina and Balu, the mysterious case of the supposed appearance of The Devil. Verity gives the leader role to Arthur and stays in São Paulo to take care of the Order.[38]

After returning, in September 8, 2021, the newly formed Team Vultures reports to Verity their findings. A page from Arnaldo’s Grimoire is found and thus it is discovered that Arnaldo had stored information in the Famiglia Leone's safe. This way, Verity sends the team to Italy immediately. Arthur calls Verity and reports on what happened to the mansion: a massacre of the mob family caused by Kian and his Markeds. This makes him decide to leave the base of the Order in Brazil and go to Italy to the Leone's Mansion, taking some agents with him. The next day, Ordo Realitas had already renovated and occupied the mansion as a temporary base. After discussing with Team Vultures, Marc Menet and Agatha, the agents are sent to The Colosseum. Verity asks Arthur to warn him if he needs reinforcements, claiming to be with teams of allies prepared to be sent for support. The Vultures stay for hours at the Colosseum, until the leader calls Arthur, who reports Joui’s sudden return, and Verity is worried and confused by the information and asks again for Arthur to be careful and call if he needs help. Shortly after, the team manages to open the doors of the Semper Clausa and Arthur sends a message to Agatha to report what happened and to ask for reinforcements to be sent. Agatha responds by saying that they were already leaving and that Verity was too worried to wait for a call.[39]

The Order arrives at the ruins of Semper Clausa and Verity welcomes Joui back into the organization. The leader then separates the agents into squads and asks everyone to be careful. Team Vultures follow the corridor forward and are isolated from the rest of the Order. About thirty minutes pass and the door opens again. Verity, who was along with Aaron, Naomi, Jiro and Olívia, notices a tired and hurt Dante in the newly opened corridor. He reports that they found Arnaldo Fritz and that the veteran was actually The Host, also telling the leader that Clarissa possibly betrayed the Order to get her revenge against Gal. The shocking information leaves Verity bewildered and he follows Dante to find the rest of the team. Joui and Arthur confirm the facts and Verity is clearly shaken. He decides, then, to go after the Metallic Dragons that were with Clarissa. The Vultures go with him, and by witnessing the Dragons' massacre scene, made by Kian's markeds, Verity becomes devastated. However, he keeps looking for Clarissa, finding only the coat she wore, which was originally his and was delivered to Tristan in the first mission they participated in Ordo Realitas. Verity can't stand and breaks down in tears, being consoled by Balu. He wonders where he went wrong and what he should have done to avoid that situation. After this, he takes a cold and focused stance, saying that Clarissa was no longer the girl he saw grow up and that this would be his last battle for the Order.

Upon climbing back to the Colosseum, Verity receives word from Dante and Arthur that Agatha was in danger at the site and the agents at the Mansion were under attack by Escribes. He calms everyone down and asks Arthur to divide the team into two trios. Thus, Arthur, Balu and Rubens go to the mansion while Dante, Joui and Carina stay to fight in the Colosseum.

Verity reunites all the agents at the Colosseum and tells that this time they wouldn't run away. They would give the first step and would win the battle against Kian. The Magistrate shows up saying that this was madness, there wouldn't be balance in that battle and that continuing would be suicide. Verity remains impassive, being firm in his decision to face Kian at that moment. He turns to Joui, Dante and Carina and asks them to find and protect Agatha, saying she was just a girl, despite being too strong. A war breaks out and Verity fights alongside Marc Menet and Aaron on the front lines of the battle. But upon noticing the movement of Kian in the arena of the Colosseum, the leader jumps from the second floor of the stands and faces Kian.[40] He faces the Escribe, looks deeply in his eyes and says:

There's one thing that I've always known, this call for a place that I don't wanna look, this whisper of a truth that I don't wanna hear, but for the first time in my life I'll find the truth... Kill me.

Mr. Verity

Dante and Carina gets worried, but Joui asks them to trust the leader. Kian then reveals that he could not kill Verity for some unknown reason. The veteran uses the distraction and asks the agents to attack. Thus, all present there begin to attack the occultist without stopping, Joui and Carina gets the Grimoire, that was in Kian's hands. Carina, eventually, puts the last page in the Grimoire and makes Kian lose all his rituals.[41]

A battle against an angry Kian ensues and, despite not dying, Verity suffers several powerful blows from Kian, becoming unconscious. He is awakened a while later by Rubens, who arrives with Arthur and Balu at the Colosseum. He gets up lost and notices Joui's dead body next to him, becoming extremely shaken, however, returning his attention to the battle. Arthur tells him that he had arrived with the ring that was inside the box requested by Marc. Verity just says that ring was the only way to contain Kian. After Balu and Arthur, guided by the leader, knocks Kian down, Dante puts the ring on the occultist's finger, thus trapping the Escribe using the Dark Restriction.[42] Verity immediately decides to return with Kian to Brazil to build a special cell especially for him.[43]

Some days pass and the cell is ready. Verity talks with Dante and Arthur about the next step, that they need to get the Relic of Blood as it is the only thing that can destroy Kian once and for all. Thus, Verity says that to defeat The Devil, the Relic wielder, they would need the Relic of Death that, by the Order's knowledge, was in Carpazinha. After that, Verity tells them that a tribute to Joui, Kaiser and all the agents who died in the battle against Kian would be made in the cemetery. Everyone goes there and pays their Everyone goes there and pays their respects to all who died in the fight against the Escribes.[44]

After the tribute, Verity calls Arthur over to Arnaldo Fritz's grave and starts talking to the agent.[45] He asks Arthur to keep this conversation just between them. Verity starts to tell about his past in the Order. He says that at the age of 28 he led an elite team called "Annihilators". In that same time, his Mr. Verity, the man who recruited and trained him, passed away. Verity says that when thinking in retrospect, he's not proud of its effectiveness in the Annihilators team, wondering how many occultists who killed needed to have even died. He reveals to Arthur that he knows how he'll die and by confronting Kian, this truth that he tried so hard to forget came back. Verity goes on to say that he had already fought his last battle for the Order and was going to a place that does not exist. Arthur insists with concern that the Order needs him, but Verity says he needs to face his own fear. Finally, the agent becomes anxious and Verity comforts him by saying that he should be strong because his family needs him. The two hugs and warn each other to keep their eyes always open.

Enigma of Fear[]

At some point, after years of various Ordo Realitas agents who were assigned to investigate the "Strach case" ending up disappearing, such as Calisto Besatt, Mr. Verity himself decides to investigate the Strach family and their involvement with an event known as "Emergence of the Haunted" in the Perimeter.[46] In some mysterious way, the leader of the Order disappears too.

Knowing of their leader's disappearance, Ordo Realitas sends a team to find him, being composed by Verity's daughter, Mia, her dog Lupi, Samuel Norte and Agatha Volkomenn.[47]

Rituals and Abilities[]

Rituals[]

Mr. Verity didn't demonstrate any ritual so far.

Abilities[]

Verity's Secret: Mr. Verity has known a truth for many years, letting him know how he'll die. The man was always afraid of confronting such a truth, that connects him to a place that shouldn't exist and to the Diary of God. This "secret", for some reason, makes impossible for Kian to kill him.[40]

Strategic Intelligence: Due to his years as an agent and leader pf Ordo Realitas, Verity has an enviable strategic knowledge, being able to analyze the enemy and give commands to his allies, who, upon hearing the order, gain an extra attack using their intelligence, equivalent to 5d20.[48]

Cursed Items[]

Verity's Jacket: A brown leather jacket worn by agents of the Order over the years. Originally belonging to the Mr. Verity from 1980, the piece was passed down to the current Verity, who kept it until handing it over to other agents. After events involving various bearers, the jacket was recovered by Verity after Clarissa's betrayal. Its properties are unknown, but it is believed to offer some form of protection.

Arsenal[]

Signals from the Other Side[]

Shotgun A shotgun with ammunition attached.
Knife A knife stored in his bandolier.
Pistol A standard firearm.

Deconjuration and Calamity[]

Sword
This melee blade was owned by Arnaldo Fritz and during the events of The Paranormal Order, it was possessed by Thiago Fritz,[49] but is currently used by Mr. Verity.[10]

Relationships[]

  • Agatha Volkomenn: At first, Verity treated Agatha with harshness and intimidation, especially when she didn't know her true identity the first time they met.[50] After deciding to seek better ways to deal with the paranormal, he contacts her through unknown means, accepting her into the organization as an ally.[27] Verity is a little irritated at Agatha's actions, but he knows that having her in the Order is the best chance they have, so he tolerates her.[51] He, even knowing that she is a little immature, understands that the young woman knows a lot about the Other Side and respects her knowledge, even inviting her to official meetings with high-ranking agents of the Order to help with the analysis of documents and questions about occultism. In addition, Verity currently demonstrates that he wants to protect her, trying to avoid as much as possible that the girl gets exposed to dangerous situations, getting nervous and worried on opposite occasions.[52]
  • Arnaldo Fritz: Verity and Arnaldo have known each other since they joined the Order. Both became best friends and went on different missions together. From Arnaldo's notes, it is noticeable that both disagreed about studying the paranormal, with Arnaldo finding it worthwhile to discover ways to defeat it, while Verity found it dangerous to study it and believed that some questions should remain unanswered. However, even with differences, both cared for each other and demonstrated close ties, even considering themselves brothers.[33] Arnaldo says several times that he misses Verity in his research and questions himself several times times whether the partner would be right about them. In the end, Arnaldo trusts Verity to continue the fight against the paranormal and leaves him his Grimoire before leaving and facing the Escribes. Verity has been extremely shaken by the loss of his friend and admires him for all he has done both as a man and as an agent of the Order. Upon discovering that Arnaldo had become The Host, Verity was visibly shaken, and reinforced the idea that his best friend had died as a hero, and everything that happened after the fire of the Orphanage was the work of an entity.[53]
  • Antônio Pontevedra: Verity and Balu have known each other since old times in the Order. He personally asked Balu to return to service for the Order after he had been retired for 5 years. Despite finding the man's abrupt personality change weird, Verity understands and respects the way he deals with his losses and life traumas. When Verity was shaken by Clarissa's betrayal, Balu knew what to say to him to calm him down, demonstrating to help him and being an emotional support to him. Verity trusts him and is grateful for his former partner's support.[54]
  • Arthur Cervero: Verity has Arthur as a trusted and close agent. After the events of The Secret in the Forest, Arthur has shown to be faithful and respectful towards Verity. The leader respected the losses of both Ivete and Arthur, even using the name of the old bar in Carpazinha as a disguise for the current base of the Order, paying homage to the Scoundrels and to the past of both. After the tragic events at the end of Deconjuration, Verity is seen hugging Arthur tightly, an act that is unusual for him.[35] He comforts him and states that the Order is their family and they cannot stop being a family, even if many members have already passed away. This demonstrates the love and affection that Verity has developed with Arthur. Also, Verity is very worried about him and his team when they are on a mission, always calling to see if everyone is ok and being nervous about their safety when they said that Kian passed by the mansion they were in. His concern is such that in both cases he went as quickly as possible to the scene with reinforcements, demonstrating Verity's appreciation for him and the high value of his and his team's lives to the Order. Verity's trust in Arthur comes at its height when he has a private conversation with him in which he reveals that he is leaving the Order to face his own fear and asks Arthur to be strong and take care of everyone.[45]
  • Clarissa Leão: Clarissa, along with Tristan, was trained by Verity since her teen age to become an agent of the Order.[55] The two seemed to have a good relationship, as well as with their colleagues and best friends, Alexia Grifo and Samantha Hale. However, after the tragic death of her two friends, Verity noticed a drastic change in Clarissa's behavior, who became more cold and isolated. During the mission in Italy, the head of the Ordo Realitas discovers that Clarissa betrayed his trust and made a pact with Kian to take revenge on Gal, stating that she is no longer the Clarissa she once was, but a monster like many he has already defeated.[56]
  • Cristopher Cohen: Cris and Verity met through Arnaldo and became very close in the missions in which they were allies. Even because of Cris's resistance, Verity insisted that his friend officially join the Order, which culminated in the permanent entry of the stuntman and his first case in The Secret in the Forest. The leader was very sad about the loss of Cris and always reaffirms his importance for major advances in reducing the occultism.
  • Elizabeth Webber: Verity and Liz always had a complicated and often hostile relationship, as she did not agree with some of the leader's methods and ended up discounting her losses and defeats in missions on him, even threatening to abandon the organization and asking him to not contact her further.[57] However, Verity recognizes her as one of the most promising agents the Order has ever had, even though she decided to step away from the organization and work on her main investigation alone.[28] Verity, despite everything, trusted Liz and her abilities, becoming concerned about her disappearance and directly suspecting paranormal involvement in it due to the woman's experience. After her death, Verity goes to the funeral to pay tribute to her, reaffirming her great importance for the advancement of the Order, honoring her death and recognizing the evolution of the woman in this time she spent as an agent and who lived with the people around her, who managed to change Liz for the better.[31]
  • Mia's mother: There is no record or information revealed about a possible mother of Mia, but it is evident that Verity had a relationship with someone to have the girl, if she is a biological daughter.
  • Mia: Like her father, it's evident that Verity cares deeply about Mia and her safety. He seems to have great confidence in Mia's investigative skills, as she often stops by his office to discuss missions and cases with him.[58] Mia worries about her father's health, insisting that he should rest, even if he is a little stubborn about it.[59]
  • Joui Jouki: Verity helped Joui a lot, especially after the events of The Secret in the Forest. The old man even gave the young man the katana that he used as a weapon.[60] Verity was very confident in Joui's abilities and its potential. After the death of Elizabeth, Verity tries to comfort Joui, who is devastated and unmotivated by what happened, showing that he cares about the boy's feelings. The leader remembers him to fight for those who stayed and that the people who left will stay together with him, which provided the necessary support to motivate him again.[61] With Joui's return, Verity is relieved and happy to have the young man's support back, always reinforcing how strong and important his presence is for the organization. In the battle against Kian, unlike Carina and Dante, Joui fully trusts Verity, even though he had just asked Kian to kill him. Verity, when he realizes that Joui had been killed by Kian, gets extremely shaken. At the end of the battle, his sadness and grief can be seen in front of the young man's body. He says Joui was a spectacular warrior for the Order and what he did for the organization and all its members was not in vain.
  • Kaiser: Because of him being naturally antisocial, Kaiser hardly gets along with Verity. However, the leader acknowledges the hacker's skills to the organization[62] and respects his space and story. Kaiser, despite being mostly aloof, admires Verity, respects him as a leader, and acknowledges his expertise in the paranormal.[63] Verity trusts so much so in Kaiser that he gave him the leadership of the Order's Research Team after less than 1 year of his participation in the organization. After the young man's death, Verity says that he and his efforts for the Order will be forever remembered by all those he helped and saved.
  • Tristan Monteiro: Tristan, along with Clarissa, was trained by Verity since their teen ages to become an agent of the Order.[55] Verity seemed to nurture much affection for Tristan, even giving him his signature coat, which he began to wear throughout his adult life. Verity was greatly shaken by the news of Tristan's death, and upon seeing his bloodied coat on the floor of the ruins of Domus Aurea left behind by Clarissa, he lost his serious attitude and burst into tears.[64]
