Miguel Cariad[1]
Miguel Cariad was an experienced agent of Ordo Realitas, being part of Team Kelvin, along with his friends, Kenan Thomas and Mariana Larona. The three agents were investigating the Project HC in Carpazinha, a city in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. After the events of the 15th episode of The Secret in the Forest, Miguel settled in Holy Cradle, later becoming The Blacksmith.
Appearance[]
Miguel was a tall and strong man, with fair skin, short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a jacket over a shirt, pants and a pair of shoes, all black. He also had a tattoo that covered his right arm, matching his teammates who also had similar tattoos.
Personality[]
Miguel, like his colleagues, was one of the best paranormal investigators in the country, being very cold and professional in his missions. His specialty was relating to people and obtaining information through his skillful speech and charm.
Despite being very professional, Miguel was the most cheerful and charismatic member of the team, as he liked to drink and have fun when possible. Miguel had the terrible habit of winning over most of the people around him with his charisma.

His life before the Order is a mystery, but it is very likely that at some point before his entry into paranormal investigations, Miguel met and befriended Mariana Larona and Kenan Thomas.
Ordo Realitas[]
Along with his two friends, Cariad joins the Order and is trained by Arnaldo Fritz to solve paranormal cases. The three form a group by the name of Team Kelvin, and eventually gain several years of experience solving cases and capturing Occultists. All of this makes Miguel a respectable professional in his work, along with the rest of the team.
Case of Carpazinha[]
Team Kelvin is recruited to solve the case of Carpazinha, based on the body of Rafael Montes, who had an occultist symbol marked on the forehead. The symbol in question was related to the Project HC, familiar to both Miguel and the other members of the team.
After traveling to the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, the team talks to Victor Rott about the case, which leads him to go with his friends to the bar Ape Hangers. There, he meets a woman named Laura, later revealed as The Blacksmith. Cariad uses his charm to pick her up, and ends up discovering that she had ulterior motives, taking the three investigators, in the middle of the night, to Holy Cradle. In the middle of the investigation, together with his partners, Miguel gets to know a little about the place and books a room at the hotel there.
In the middle of the night, the group ends up having to face a Guilt Parasite, which incorporates the image of their old teacher, Arnaldo Fritz, revealing some relationship between Team Kelvin and his death. The group defeats the parasite and the next day, everyone wakes up, deciding to visit the Infinite Labyrinth, where they speculate to be the center of everything. However, none of them get anywhere, even though they walk for a long time, and in the end, they decide to split up to send a report, leaving Miguel in the city.
In the meantime, while Kenan and Mariana don't return, Cariad explores the rest of the city. He ends up getting to know various places, people, and also the nature of Holy Cradle, developing a friendship with the Blacksmith's Helper in addition to spending more time with the leader of the place, who develop a more intimate relationship with him.
Two weeks pass for Cariad in Holy Cradle, and 20 minutes for Kenan and Mariana, who were back in Carpazinha. Miguel's two friends finally return, meeting up with Cariad. He explains and tells them everything about the place, confused about the time, which didn't match Carpazinha's. Miguel explains that the hours and days pass faster inside the village. The group then begins to discuss, and based on Cariad's explanations, they come to the conclusion that if they mark the spiral symbol, they can guide themselves through the maze. Mariana draws the symbol on Miguel with a survival knife, which manages to guide them through the mist-filled paths.
The group arrives in a dark cave and decides to explore the place in search of answers. In the meantime, they end up being cornered by The Blacksmith and her helper, who attack them, suspecting the team's intentions regarding Holy Cradle.
The team manages to defeat the two in a fight, and Cariad points a firearm at The Blacksmith's head. In the process, he gets his Lusidii form. Kenan and Mariana ask Miguel to kill The Blacksmith so the three of them can destroy the place, and finally move forward with the investigation. After some time thinking, Miguel is taken by the temptation of Holy Cradle and is convinced by The Blacksmith to stay there. He had become attached to the place, and decided to stay there to protect it.
Finally, Cariad shoots Mariana, killing her instantly, reinforcing the message that he would rather live in the paranormal city than destroy it under the command of the Order. Kenan realizes the situation and tries to escape to one of the cave paths, which is revealed to be a dead end. Together with The Blacksmith and her helper, he captures Kenan and locks him in a cell, making him a Source.
Holy Cradle[]
Miguel begins his new life in Holy Cradle, becoming The Blacksmith's new assistant, replacing the previous assistant, who becomes The Miner. Little is known about what happened during his life there, but he lived with The Blacksmith for a long time. The two became a couple, having several children to be used as Sources. Before dying of pneumonia, The Blacksmith passes her position as city leader to Cariad, who becomes the modern-day Blacksmith. As he once worked for the Order, he already knew Team H's intentions the moment he saw them there, manipulating the entire situation to make them trust him. Even in his last moments of life, the only thing that Cariad - The Blacksmith - asked was for them not to destroy the city he loved so much.
