GM[1]

I warned you.

Melissa Trovi[2]

Melissa Trovi was one of the protagonists of the Paranormal Order series, present in Gruesome Christmas.[1]

Melissa, determined to visit her mother, chose to take a bus instead of a plane, after all, she was not very fan of being in the clouds. However, this decision led to an unexpected turn of events, and her final fate was the Goodwill Moon's Camp.

After being chased along with the other survivors by the Night Mutilator, Melissa gets into a heated discussion with Jorge on the possession of the mask of the Menhuntress, and during the discussion she is killed with a shot to the head fired by Jorel.

Appearance[]

Melissa was a slim young woman, 5'5" feet tall, white skin, blue eyes and blonde hair with pink-painted locks, which fell partially on her forehead in the shape of a bangs. She had an athletic body, thin, arched eyebrows and a delicate nose. Melissa wore a cropped with horizontal lines in white and pink tones with pink buttons in heart shape. On top of that, she wore a long-sleeved pink short jacket with white hearts, roses and red detailing, leaving the area of her abdomen exposed. In addition, Melissa wore a mini skirt-short jeans that left part of her thighs exposed. She also wore pink gaiters with white and red hearts print and on the feet, shoes with, also, heart details. As accessories, Melissa wore a pink frame sunglasses on her head, a silver necklace with a pendant of a pink butterfly wings, heart-shaped earrings and finally a small cross-body white and pink butterfly-shaped bag. She also had four piercings on the ears (two in each) and one on the navel, shaped like a butterfly.[3]

Personality[]

Melissa was outgoing and, although she seemed to be a presumptuous person, she was very friendly with others, even having some facility in forming quick connections, as seen in her relationship with Ayla. She was charismatic, confident and extremely vain, always being fragrant and well dressed. Melissa also showed very suspicious, reactive and a little pushy, this being noticed in her conversation with Deputy Aguiar, when she made certain demands to him.

Biography[]

Past[]

Melissa, from a very young age, did artistic gymnastics. During her youth, she was always the center of attention. Elegant, always well dressed and impeccably perfumed, she stood out as a gymnast and cheerleader, gaining a popularity that made her a reference in her social circle. Despite the charisma she always displayed, there was a curious aspect about her: her deep dislike for airplanes, which led her to avoid air travel at all costs.

When she decided to visit her mother, Melissa chose to travel by bus to avoid facing her fear. However, what seemed to be a simple alternative eventually led her, unexpectedly, to the dark Goodwill Moon's Camp, a place with experiences that, certainly, the High School had not prepared.

Gruesome Christmas[]

On December 21, 2022, Melissa takes a bus to go see her mother, since she hates planes. However, she and 5 other people on the bus are caught in the road in front of the Goodwill Moon's Camp in Inquisidor do Vale, Paraná. With the sudden disappearance of the bus driver and after having their luggage stolen, Melissa and the other passengers decide to go to the camp for help.

While Melissa was investigating the place with Ayla Valença, Breno L. Nojard and Jorge Lagos, the other two passengers, Lucio and Mike, who had separated from the group, appear running away from two enraged dogs, and seeing this scene the rest of the passengers run to the big house in the camp and lock themselves inside. Melissa tries to call the police and gets answered, hearing that the emergency service would send a car to the site to make their rescue. Melissa takes the opportunity to explore a little bit of the Juno House, realizing that it was well preserved and prepared for Christmas festivities. They find gifts and a Christmas tree mounted next to a fireplace with a large portrait of a young woman with a glazed and macabre look, wearing a blood-stained dress.

It doesn't take too long and then, deputy Aguiar arrives to help the group. The deputy tells them to stay safe inside the house while he makes a patrol of the surroundings. Some time later, a bang is heard by everyone and the light of the house is then turned off.

Melissa and the others become afraid and reach for the control panel of the house to check if it is possible to turn on the lights again. However, when they open the back door looking for that panel, they see a hooded figure with a big red "X" floating in front of its face. Upon learning of the killer’s presence, they realize and understand that they need to find the key to unlock the doors that have now all been locked. The figure was lurking, hidden, waiting to be found before the key.

Melissa begins to search for the keys incessantly, turning around and dropping various objects, including the portrait of the young lady, until she hears Ayla screaming. The young woman found the killer, who jumped out of a closet and stabbed her with everything. Melissa, hearing this immediately go to see what happened, while screaming for help from the rest of the people who were in other rooms of the house, and Breno, who was nearby, helps Ayla to get up and run, getting face to face with the figure, that hits a knife in his back. Melissa holds Ayla and helps her escape, while leaving Breno behind. Mike finds a set of keys on the second floor and begins testing at the front door of the house, without success.

Breno runs with all his strength and reaches the group, and along with him, the killer also reaches them. They all run to the kitchen and after a few attempts, they open the door. Melissa, who was getting behind because of Ayla, suggests that both separate so that they run away more easily, and by releasing Ayla and running quickly to the exit, she sees that she will escape, however, her friend, who was already injured, doesn't have the same luck. The hooded person opens Ayla’s abdomen and kills her brutally and sadistically.

Witnessing the scene Melissa cries and screams as she runs out of the house, meeting in front of the place with the other survivors, but with mixed feelings: the sadness of Melissa and the heated discussion of the boys after seeing the horrible scene. Without thinking twice, the five survivors follow in a dark direction from the camp, finding another cabin. They see, behind it, a kind of generator, with a manual how to turn on. In the indecision of what to do with the device, they hear once again the request for silence, as if the figure was lurking them in the shadows.

The group then divides: Lucio and Mike stay in the generator, while Melissa and the others go in the other direction, finding a kind of mini-camp. Melissa searches one of the tents, finding a plastic bone; Jorge tears off a tomb, indicated as the tomb of Alice Lucina, finding a decomposing female body with a flesh mask covering her face. Melissa, seeing the mask, gets attracted to her, and when she touches the mask and keeps it with her, Melissa feels an impulse, punching Jorge in the process. Breno finds a valve, which is necessary to activate the generators.

The group meets again, and with the help of the valve found in the mini-camp, they turn on the generator of the cabin. Going up the stairs, they try to break down its door, but eventually, they think about using some of the keys from before, managing to open it. As they enter, the figure once again lurks in the shadows, striking Lucio from behind. Once again, they ask for silence, as if she mocks the group. They are just a joke to him. The group enters the cabin, finding an anti-inflammatory, and Melissa goes straight to the phone calling the emergency service to send more cars. However, unhappy that only the deputy Aguiar is available, she curses the person on the other side and hangs up in the face. The group waits for a while inside the cabin, until they hear the police siren. Through the window, they see the car parked next to them. Breno and Jorge leave the cabin and walk towards the car. And meanwhile, the sound of the silence request... but not outside.

Melissa, Mike and Lucio start running from Jae. Melissa runs and shoots from the cabin, followed by Lucio, leaving Mike behind, who is brutally killed by the killer. The two run towards Aguiar, which ends up involving Breno and Jorge in the pursuit. Jae approaches Melissa and Lucio, but the girl is faster and runs away from the killer, who kills the other survivor. Melissa and the others arrive next to Aguiar, who orders them to get in the car. The figure approaches the deputy, who screams toward, appearing afraid. Just appearing. The deputy shows friendly to the figure. Calling them Jae and mocking the number of deaths, he pulls a mask. The mask of the Night Mutilator. The two killers turn to the three survivors in the car and walk towards them.

The three are kidnapped by the killers. For three days, Jorge, Breno and Melissa were trapped in the attic of Juno House, hoked and gagged, being mocked by Aguiar and forced to drink water, only to stay alive and suffer more. But a glimpse of hope comes when they hear the sounds of people walking under them, trying to open the attic. Breno is the first to get out of the hook, helping the other two to come out, with difficulty. After a while recovering, the three go to the attic door, hearing footsteps and screams coming from below. They try to open with some of the keys of the sauce that they had, managing to open it.

By pulling the door, they meet Jorel, Ricardo and Shanyqua, who climb the vertical staircase and meet with the trio. Jorel and Jorge meet again and start arguing about why they are there, with Shanyqua and Melissa coming into conflict as well. However, their attention turns first to Joto, that followed Ricardo and was also at the bottom, and for something that was stinking on the other side of the attic. Jorge, hearing footsteps outside the house, quickly goes down and takes the dog, throwing it to Melissa, who puts it inside her blouse.

After Breno and Ricardo put something above the trapdoor and the Night Mutilator passed through the house, the rest of the group investigates the other side of the attic, finding a dead cop hanging on a hook. Melissa finds a recorder, listening to this same policeman talking about how deputy Aguiar was a monster, that he controlled the police force of the area, that the radio frequency was important and that the two killers were not invincible.

The six begin to discuss about the information that each trio had with them, about the history of Alice Lucina, the rituals she and her husband did, the tomb previously dug by Jorge, among other matters. But then, after Ricardo noticed a staircase next to one of the attic windows, quickly the six organize themselves to get out of the attic there. After some obstacles, with the ladder almost falling, everyone manages to get down.

After getting out, they start walking around the camp, soaked by rain. The group notices the old chest that Jorel and Shanyqua had noticed, but when the girl tries to open it, she doesn't notice a bear trap placed right in front of her, trapping her foot and immobilizing her. The rest of the group mobilizes to get her out, while Breno opens the chest with one of the keys from the keyring, revealing some bizarre items, such as a revolver, the same mask that Melissa had found before, two grenades and a red lock with several symbols. When she sees the mask, Melissa again feels attracted and catches it, feeling the violent instinct back and attacking Jorge. Hhowever, while the fight happened and group tries to help Shanyqua, they don't realize the silence.

The sound of the silence request. Coming as a shadow, the figure passes through everybody, appearing behind Shanyqua and stabbing her in the back. At the same time, on the other side, the Night Mutilator cornered them. Melissa and the others run away, leaving only Ricardo and Shanyqua behind. Only Ricardo comes back with the group, leaving Shanyqua to die in the hands of both killers.

After the escape, the rest of the group continues to run looking for something to help them, finding the bus that the first trio was before. Walking a little further forward, they find the cabin where Ricardo had gotten hooked, where Jorge, when entering, almost steps in a bear trap. When they enter, they see a radio to use. Breno turns on the radio, putting in the frequency indicated by the card of the police officer, contacting someone in the other side of the line: the Blue Condominium Detectives. The person tells them to set up a plan and join together to fight the assassins as they prepare to go to the site, because the assassins could be strong but they are dumb. In addition, Melissa and Jorge find a sensacionalist magazine talking about a certain sales influencer named Jae-Yoon, who got involved in a controversy with another influencer, and then disappeared suddenly, attaching this name to the X-mask killer.

As the group discusses how to fight the killers, they recall a paper talking about a poem of Santa fighting an evil force, and seeing that the drawing of the figures looked like the killers, they try to come up with a plan to confront them. Meanwhile, Ricardo comes down from the cabin and finds both Mutilator's Hunting Dogs. Melissa stands in front to try to distract them with the plush bone she had, succeeding. However, when Joto starts moving inside her shirt and falls, she fails to maintain the distraction, and one of the dogs jumps on her, biting her arm and the other her clothes. Jorge takes advantage and takes the mask from Melissa and runs away. Breno and Ricardo try to help her, but when Ricardo tries to attack one of the dogs, he awakens a bestial force along with flashes of memory and ends up tearing the animal in half. They don’t have much time to think, because the Night Mutilator saw everything and now leaves quickly to find his dog’s killer.

The group starts to run, but Melissa is interested in something else. She heads into Jorge and tries to jump on him with the aim of killing him to get her stolen mask. The Night Mutilator, chasing Ricardo, ignores all of them and follows towards the lake. Upon seeing the fight, Jorel points the revolver to Melissa. She and Jorge agree to give the mask to the armed boy, hoping that this would end the fight. But they didn't expect Jorel to wear the mask. He begins to feel an infestation of feelings. Everything is blood for him. Aflored by the incessant thirst for blood of the Menhuntress, he points the gun at Melissa and shoots, blowing the girl’s head, leaving Breno and Jorge in shock.
