[...] One thing is certain: when entering a civilization of Lusidii, you can't leave.
Paranormal Order RPG Playbook
The Lusidii are humans who dedicate all the time of their lives to the entity known as Dimensions Parasite, vliving in anachronistic and isolated cities, such as Holy Cradle and Heilag Vagga, that always forms around the Relic of Death. Living in one of these civilizations means having a connection with the Dimensions Parasite, which creates a kind of Hypnosis around them, making the Lusidii live a shared illusion, where the surrounding environment generates comfort, pleasure and, consequently, dependence. Having direct contact with the anachronistic city will eventually make you one of its inhabitants.
History[]
It does not seem possible to know for sure where or when the first manifestation of these anachronistic cities arose, because the key point of their creation, the Relic of Death, moves through time, not space. However, there are records of these villages of Lusidii scattered around the world throughout human history, with their names always following the same line of reasoning, such as "Holy Cradle", "Sacred Start", "Divine Principle" or "Eternal Beginning" in several languages.
Behaviour[]
The behavior of the Lusidii seems to vary depending on civilization, with some villages treating the "Ignarii", nomenclature they use to refer to visitors, in a friendly and peaceful way, welcoming them to eventually become Lusidii, while others act aggressively and territorially, avoiding the entrance of these Ignarii in the village.
The Lusidii found by Team H on Carpazinha's Holy Cradle followed the first option, acting in a friendly manner with the agents, although surprised by the arrival of new visitors without the presence of a "Pilgrim", the Lusidii responsible for bringing new people to the village. Moreover, the inhabitants of this Holy Cradle seemed to abandon their names after becoming Lusidii, referring to each other only by the function of the individual in the city, such as "The Miner", "The Farmer" or "The Gatekeeper", being always led by the one in the role of "Blacksmith", responsible for guiding the new Ignarii around the city.
All Lusidii civilizations seem to deny technological advances or any kind of relationship with the Element of Energy, even the own fire itself. For example, Carpazinha's Holy Cradle did not have any kind of electricity, being similar to a medieval village, and even the flame of a lighter was enough to stoke the city, which seemed to consciously send creatures towards the responsible for the incident. In addition, time within these villages seems to pass differently, existing in a kind of distorted dimension in relation to the rest of the world.
Characteristics[]
Due to the high paranormal exposure acquired due to the proximity of their civilizations to the Dimensions Parasite, the appearance of the Lusidii is transformed, receiving characteristics similar to those of people with affinity to the Element of Death. The skin of these individuals acquires a grayish color, with the tone varying from person to person, their eyes become completely black and without pupils, with hair colors ranging from black, white, gray and even more bluish tones, their ears become pointed and patterns formed by black stripes appear on their faces, ranging from citizen to citizen.
The Lusidii found by Team H in Carpazinha's Holy Cradle used to use medieval-looking clothing, such as vests and leather boots or other simple clothing, some even using armor if necessary for the function of the subject in the village, as The Guard and the old Blacksmith. The Lusidii were able to return to their original "Ignarii" appearance if they wished, but they used to always feel more comfortable with their transformed appearance.
The Lusidii sent by Nubi, one of the subordinate Escribes of Kian, to the Leone's Mansion in the 10th episode of Calamity seemed to wear clothes with Egyptian inspirations, consisting of white cloths with gold accessories marked with spiral details, in addition to not having greyish skin and having text tattoos all over the body, as well as the Escribes. In addition, this new people seems to have a more aggressive stance than the previous one, even having weapons with spiral shapes that they used in the battle against the agents. Not only that, but these Lusidii, unlike those found by Team H, had an unique language, with phrases and words that sounded as if they were being said backwards.
Trivia[]
- During Team H's mission at Holy Cradle, Elizabeth Webber was the only member of the team that didn't use her Lusidii form, faithfully believing that she was not able to reach it.[1] However, it was revealed on "Revealing The Secret in the Woods" that the character would be able to.[2]
- During Team H's stay in Holy Cradle, their Lusidii form would be "unlocked" through a hidden sanity bar, that was decreasing as the agents were interacting with the city.[3]
