Leila Lima's note^[1]

Leila Lima was one of the employees who worked at the Moretti's Mansion, working as a Maid, serving as cook and cleaner in past events of The Secret in the Island. She was mentioned in notes, letters and documents scattered around the mansion.

Leila first appeared through a photo, found inside the Mansion during the investigations of the new residents during the 3rd episode of The Secret in the Island.

Appearance[]

In a photograph taken from Leila Lima along with Emério Cunha, she appeared to be a smooth-haired young woman, wearing a cupbearer’s attire and an apron tied around her waist.

Biography[]

Little is known about her past, but through documents found in the mansion, it is known that she was born in Maringá, Paraná, and at 27, in 1962 she was hired as one of the employees in the Moretti's Mansion performing functions of Maid. A part of her story is also discovered through the documents scattered around the Mansion.

First Note[]

Honey, can we meet in the gardens tonight? It’s a full moon, the sky is full of stars. Such a romantic mood... We could even pick up a wine from the cellar!
Mr. Constantino is very kind, he himself has already told me that I could take whatever I want.

First note found from Leila Lima, located in one of the mansion’s rooms. In the note, Leila invites her love to meet in the garden of the mansion amid a full moon night, in which she quotes that Constantino Moretti gave her freedom to pick up any items from the mansion.^[2]

Second Note[]

I think I’m going away for a few days. I have nausea, constipation and bloating, I need to rest. Mrs. Noralma was a person of love and said she would take care of household chores while I rest.

Second note found from Leila Lima, located in one of the rooms of the mansion. On the note, Leila talks about not feeling well and with symptoms of nausea, constipation and swelling, for reasons hitherto unknown, and comments with her love about how Noralma Moretti is helping her in this difficult situation with her household chores. She completes saying that she felt accomplished by knowing the couple and provide the moments lived in the mansion.^[3]

Third Note[]

This situation is getting a little complicated. I don’t think we can keep this to ourselves for that long. Mr. Constantino will understand if we are honest, I think he would like it, and give us more time to be together... I’m afraid if he finds out on his own, he might resent us keeping secrets from him.

In the note, Leila comments that they are going through difficult times, and that tell to Mr. Constantino about the secret that she and her love are keeping, it would be opportune to tell their boss, being able to generate some satisfaction to him. For moment that, honesty in telling would bring them benefits in the situation.^[4]

Fourth Note[]

After I began to show interest in painting, Mr. Constantino became much more alert and communicative, did you also notice? He even taught me some tricks and basics of painting, but I need to practice more.
Even after all, it seems that teaching and talking about art still awakens a light inside him...
But in the end, there is no greater gift in my life than you! Every time you offer to cover my daily chores, I have a few extra hours to explore the island and paint some beautiful landscapes. I was even thinking of giving some as a gift to our neighbors, as Mr. Constantino does.

In the note, Leila comments that demonstrates interest and talk about art with Mr. Constantino made him be a more outgoing person and return to be more cheerful, teaching her tricks and techniques of painting, so that, made her arouse interest in practicing such teachings portraying the environments and gifting the residents of Tipora just as Constantino did before.^[5]

Emério, it can only be this.
I’ve taken the medicine they gave me and the natural teas for revertery and congestion, but nothing seems to solve.
We need to prepare for this, and I don’t think we’ll be able to count on Constantino’s help. He’s too far gone since it happened.

Fifth note found from Leila Lima, located in one of the mansion’s rooms. In the npte, Leila exposes that the medications for reversal and congestion that she's taking are not having effects for her improvement. So, they need to use the help of other people, since Constantino Moretti was isolated after the event that left him completely insane.^[6]

Sixth Note[]

Dear daughter
Your father and I would like to see you once more, but unfortunately it won’t be possible. At least, after Mr. Constantino was gone, he left one last gift for both of us. The most beautiful gift of all. This painting is beautiful, it makes us feel good, and kills a little of our longing for you. But we know this won’t last long, and we don’t want you getting involved in it. At least it’s like you’re here too... it’s like you’re here with us.

Sixth note found from Leila Lima, located inside the diary of Lívia Lima. In the note, Leila tells about how difficult it is to be away from her daughter, showing that it would not be possible to be able to meet her again in a brief future. So that her absence is being supplied by the presence of a picture presented by Constantino Moretti.^[7]

Leila's Diary[]

Leila’s diary, located inside the staff room on the 3rd floor of the Moretti's Mansion. Beside her skeleton, it contains documented how difficult her routine was after the departure of her daughter, Lívia Lima, and Constantino Moretti. Informing of the gift of her boss, recommending to make the transition if they wanted to follow them, and that soon this would not be possible.^[8]
