Gonzales Medina

Gonzales Medina was a secondary character in The Paranormal Order. He was one of the two police officers of São Paulol assigned to investigate the mysterious murder of one of the firefighters sent to put out the fire in the Nostradamus High School.

During the investigation at the school together with a team of Ordo Realitas' agents and an involved school teacher, Gonzales ended up attacked and killed by the Degolified.

Appearance

Gonzales was a white man with short black hair and brown eyes, who wore, most of the time, a black police uniform, gray jeans and brown shoes. He had a badge hanging from his shirt and deep dark circles in his eyes. When he transformed into a Blood Zombie, he takes a monstrous form, with red fur, pointed teeth, sharp claws and face all deformed by the attack he took from the Degolified.

Personality

He was considered a friendly person and a dedicated professional in his investigations, but during his last investigation, he was shaken and stressed due to personal problems occurring in his life. In the last moments of his life, due to the motivational message that Thiago Fritz passed to him, he takes a more selfless and dedicated personality to finish solving the case, but ends up dying by the Degolified right after.

Biography

Past

Not much is known about his past, besides he always fought with his cousin, Brian, so that he would stop investigating online riddles, as this was too dangerous for him. And just before the events of the Nostradamus School, he discovered that his wife, Dorotéia, had cheated on him.

The Fire's investigation

The agent finds himself visibly frightened and confused when the three agents of the Order arrive at school for the first time, not understanding why anyone else has been assigned to such a bizarre case. After introducing themselves to Gonzales as agents of the Irregular Crimes Sector (using the fake badges assigned to them by the Order), the three investigators convince him that they are the reinforcements he expected. Although the police officer remains confused because he has never heard of that department and because he has never received more reinforcements than the agent Douglas, Thiago manages to use his interpersonal skills to gain the agent’s trust, resulting in a closer relationship between the two.

As soon as Thiago gets the confidence of the policeman relatively with him, Daniel and Liz, the three get some information on the case. To begin with, Gonzales comments that he has been there for some time, hoping that the city’s fire department would come to examine the site to find out the causes of the fire. However, due to the circumstances of the firefighter’s death, none of his colleagues dares even go to the crime scene. In addition, Gonzales complains that the team assigned to him refuses to work with a case that is minimally strange, and that would probably not appear in a case as bizarre as that.

On the other hand, Gonzales is also restless because of his situation at home, being in trouble with his wife and finding himself eager to return home to resolve these obstacles in his life.

Adding the stress of work to family problems and the terrible state in which the firefighter's body was, Gonzales was in a state of enormous tiredness and restlessness, which is slightly reduced thanks to interaction with Thiago.

After following the clues found in the first analysis to the crime scene, the three Order investigators and their new companion Alexsander Kothe return to the Nostradamus High School looking for the secret bunker they had discovered. However, because of the weakening of the Veil, the twenty minutes that apparently passed inside the library amounted to a few hours in the outside world. Worried that something might have happened, Gonzales, who was in the area and knew they had gone to the library, moved in search of them, entering the compartment despite the strange fog that filled it. Concerned that a civilian was involved in a location that was clearly suffering from paranormal influence, the four try to formulate a quick plan to get Gonzales out of there, now that they have visualized the video on the camera of Mathew Geleerd and know that the weakening of the Veil at the site was elevated. However, as this was the first time the four had dealt with a truly paranormal situation and worked as a team, the investigators ended up getting involved in an argument, which caused them to waste time. A few minutes later, still with Gonzales in the library, the group was attacked by a paranormal creature that would later be identified as a manifestation of the Degolified.

In the midst of the conflict, Gonzales gets shocked, not being prepared to deal with paranormal entities, not even being able to move. The agent becomes the creature’s first target on the place, who kills him without difficulty before directing her attention to Daniel, which is what takes the longest to get away from the other four. Fortunately, Daniel Hartmann narrowly escapes and the Order leaves in the middle of the night, having failed to save Gonzales.

The transformation

Like the body of the firefighter killed by the Degolified, Gonzales' body suffered the consequences of being long abandoned in a weak Veil site. The next day, when the agents of the Order returned to Nostradamus High School to look for more information in the fileabout some students with possible links to the case, they're ambushed by Gonzales, who at that time was already transformed into a Blood Zombie. The members of the Order manage to get rid of him, although this creature has managed to seriously injure Thiago Fritz in the lungs. This injury led to surgery later and Thiago was advised to stop smoking because of this problem.
