Hate doesn't solve anything... Love, family, and the people around you are much stronger than any hatred you may feel.
Elizabeth Webber[2]
Elizabeth “Liz” Webber was one of the protagonists of the series Paranormal Order, present in The Paranormal Order, The Secret in the Forest, Deconjuration and Paranormal Order: Initiation.
Elizabeth was a doctor and forensic scientist, extremely determined, intelligent, and skilled, with an obsession for creating theories and solving cases. Working with her detective partner, Gustavo Dohmer, she helped solve several cases for the Federal Police until she was eventually recruited into the Ordo Realitas by Tristan Monteiro. After losing almost her entire team on her first mission, she accompanied Team H in the investigation that led to the destruction of Holy Cradle, where she became trapped in a temporal vortex for 22 years. Upon returning to São Paulo, she began to follow the trail of something called the "Deconjuration Order".
Later, Liz investigates and ends up being captured by the Escribes, a group connected to this Deconjuration. After being rescued by a team from the Order, Elizabeth was ambushed by the occultist group once again, and she was killed by Gal in the 6th episode of Deconjuration, as the leader of the Escribes drives Joui Jouki's katana into the agent's chest, killing her slowly.[3]
Appearance[]
The Paranormal Order/Initiation[]
Elizabeth was a 28-year-old woman, thin, measuring 5' 7" tall.[4] She had fair skin, black hair, dark brown eyes described as big and heavy, and a dot beneath the left corner of her mouth. Liz was portrayed by her actress, Gabi Cattuzzo, as someone who wouldn't stand out in a crowd in terms of her appearance, being considered normal in various aspects. During The Paranormal Order, Elizabeth wore her short hair with the bangs swept to the side. She usually wore a white lab coat with her badge displayed in the front pocket, over a greenish-blue shirt. She always carried her camera hanging from a dark blue strap around her neck and often used disposable blue gloves. Liz also carried a briefcase containing her materials. In Initiation, unlike The Paranormal Order, Elizabeth didn't display her badge or her camera on her attire; she kept them with her, hidden.
The Secret in the Forest[]

In The Secret in the Forest, she wears her hair longer, partially tied up in a bun, with straight bangs covering her forehead. Elizabeth still wears her white lab coat and blue gloves, but now she's wearing a pink shirt underneath and without her camera around her neck.

Still during the campaign, now in Holy Cradle, Liz wears an outfit crafted by The Tailor, which consists of a white long-sleeved blouse under a tunic of a slightly desaturated green color. She also wears an asymmetrical brown skirt that goes up with a strap over her right shoulder. She also had a brown band around her cuffs.
In the 16th episode of The Secret in the Forest, Liz spends 22 years[5] trapped in a temporal hypnosis caused by the God of Death, which causes her hair to become long and white, and her skin becomes wrinkled as well.
Deconjuration[]

Now at 50 years old, Liz's hair was entirely white, her skin more wrinkled, and her gaze even more tired, described by the player herself as a look that "nothing would surprise anymore." She wore a brown overcoat over a beige button-up shirt. Elizabeth was tattooed by the Escribes with phrases all over her body. The only phrase that was revealed was on her face and it said: "Everything was spinning, once again I woke up...". After Joui Jouki read and ended up revealing this, Liz herself demonstrates knowing the "origin" of the phrase and what it referred to.
Personality[]
Past[]
Liz was much "brighter" when her mother was alive, being happier and more optimistic. After her mother's death, Liz was very afraid of experiencing the loss of loved ones and therefore acted cold and distant towards strangers. Liz also felt bothered by disorderliness, like parties, protests, or gatherings at home; she usually drank heavily to feel comfortable in such situations. She enjoyed clichéd romantic comedies even though she knew they were unrealistic, preferred a simple and ordinary life, listened to classical music while at home, and loved organizing crime scenes during her work.
The Paranormal Order[]
Liz was very perceptive and diligent in her investigations. Highly intelligent and always alert, she was considered one of the best detectives by her colleagues, noting down any details that might be useful in the future. Above all, however, Elizabeth was quite brusque with those she wasn't close to, being rude with others in conversations and often showing insensitivity towards death and others' losses, displaying a rather selfish personality. She also easily blamed herself for mistakes made in investigations for the Order, especially when they resulted in deaths – whether those of her friends or civilians involved in the particular case. She blamed herself to the extent of collecting items like Daniel's flask and Alex's glasses to remind herself every morning of how she failed to save them.
Initiation[]
Liz maintained the investigative side she had in The Paranormal Order, but her aggressiveness was tempered. Liz appeared straightforward, sincere, serious, and focused, always prioritizing the mission above all else, while still respecting others. Liz could be seen as individualistic, but she didn't go so far as to be selfish, as she was honest and even had a bit of empathy for others. She could easily get stressed, but she didn't let it shake her, continuing with her tasks and objectives, even when angry or shaken.
The Secret in the Forest[]
After her first case, Liz becomes more serious but not very different from before, even becoming more rude and insensitive at times, especially with new agents like Joui and Cesar, although she eventually shows more care for them. Liz felt extreme guilt for everything that happened around her and always had the feeling that she shouldn't get attached to anything or anyone, as losing those people later would hurt even more if she had once meant something to them. Because of this mindset, she refrained from caring about many people around her and exhibited extremely harsh behavior, fearing that if she did the opposite, she would become attached to those individuals. Elizabeth also tended to take risks in situations where she shouldn't, even disregarding superiors or professionals, albeit with good intentions. This is evident when she enters the kitchen of Casper's Diner, suspecting that the cook was being mistreated.[6] With Thiago's sacrifice, Liz demonstrates becoming attached to people very deeply, as just the possibility of her friend's death is already a significant emotional blow.
Deconjuration[]
After the events of her second case and the disaster in Holy Cradle, Elizabeth sinks into her guilt, isolating herself from her comrades out of fear of hurting them once again. However, a significant change in her demeanor becomes evident. Liz now tends to be more understanding, even opening up to Dante when she encounters him, despite him being an occultist and a potential enemy. Liz now seeks to help and protect others more than just herself.
Skills[]
- Clues analysis: Liz had a remarkable ability to analyze traces left behind, turning these traces into significant clues for an investigation.
- Forensic Science: Due to her background as a forensic scientist, Liz possessed a solid knowledge of subjects such as biology, chemistry, and others.
- Advanced medicine: Alongside her scientific studies, she became proficient in combat medicine, allowing her to provide aid to allies using tools during battles.
- Police skills: In every case, Liz was always equipped with the right tools she might need, regardless of the mission. This made her very meticulous when it came to her belongings.
- Body Language: Liz knew how to minutely read a person's body language, analyzing everything from their clothing and accessories to their facial expressions and gestures. This allowed her to discern someone's entire profile at a glance.
Biography[]
Past[]
Elizabeth Webber was born on January 3, 1992, in São Paulo, to Lucille Webber and an unnamed father who, according to her mother, was just a casual fling she had. Consequently, Lucille decided to raise her daughter alone. Elizabeth never met her maternal grandparents and never got to know her father or any paternal family. When Elizabeth was a child, around 5 to 10 years old, she and her mother were having ice cream together in a park in São Paulo when they were attacked by a Blood Zombie. Fortunately, they were saved by Arnaldo Fritz and Mr. Verity, with Verity protecting Lucille and the girl while Arnaldo took down the creature. At the age of 18, Elizabeth's mother was involved in a fatal car accident under suspicious circumstances – surprising Liz, who knew her mother was an excellent driver and that an event of that magnitude wouldn't be possible.[7] The case became even more mysterious as the body couldn't be identified due to severe damage. Consequently, Liz decided not to pursue an astronomy course but to study forensic sciences instead. Working for the Federal Police, in January 2020, she came across the case of Leonardo Gomes.[8] After realizing that the state of Leonardo's body couldn't have been caused under normal circumstances, Liz decided to investigate independently. She visited the location where the body was found and encountered Tristan Monteiro, who took her phone number. Later, Tristan explained to her the origin of the supernatural and the existence of the order. Liz soon became part of the Ordo Realitas, viewing it as a way to prevent similar things from happening to others and as a means to uncover the truth about her mother's death.[9]
The Paranormal Order/Initiation[]
In the early hours of February 29, 2020, three individuals received an email, one of them being Elizabeth Webber. The email contained an address and meeting time at a coffee shop, along with information about a coffee order for Mx. Verity. Following the instructions, she met her two colleagues for the mission: Thiago Fritz and Daniel Hartmann.[10][11] The team was subsequently informed about the case they were assigned to: the death of a firefighter after a fire at the Nostradamus High School, which showed strong indications of paranormal interaction and potential occult involvement. A series of investigations eventually led them to a confrontation with the Degolified. In the end, during the mission within the school's bunker, Elizabeth witnessed the deaths of Daniel and Alex - an innocent civilian wrongly involved in the case - unable to do anything to help. Following this, she began carrying Alex's glasses and Daniel's flask, items that held value for her and served as a reminder of her failure to protect them.[12] However, she managed to save Thiago's life by dragging his unconscious body with difficulty along the path they had previously taken within the school. She called an ambulance once they were outside the premises. Subsequently, Elizabeth endured a tough period in the hospital alongside the person who would eventually become her best friend. After Thiago woke up in the hospital, he persuaded Liz to bid farewell to her mother, something she had never had the courage to do. At the cemetery, after saying her goodbyes and finally accepting her grief, she witnessed a group of young people being attacked by a paranormal creature. Pulled by Thiago, they rushed to help the boys, but arrived too late. Only one of the youths remained, Joui Jouki. Thiago explained everything he knew about the Paranormal to the boy and promised to help him join the Order. As the weeks of Joui's training went by, Liz grew more attached to him; despite her efforts to distance herself, she couldn't prevent the feelings that were growing within her for the young man.
Initiation[]
Some time after the conclusion of the mission at the Nostradamus High School, Elizabeth encounters Mr. Verity in the same park where she was attacked with her mother when she was young. The two briefly converse in a dialogue that leaves Liz thoughtful, while Verity says goodbye, gets up, and leaves.
The Secret in the Forest[]
A few months after the tragic end of her previous mission, Elizabeth joined Thiago and the newcomers, Cesar Cohen, Cristopher Cohen, and Joui Jouki to investigate the disappearance of another Order team, the Team Kelvin, and the death of Rafael Montes, a driver found with a Spiral Symbol on his forehead in Carpazinha, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul.[13] The investigation leads them to a lost city, Holy Cradle, where time runs at a different speed than the rest of the world.[14] Upon discovering the hidden evil behind the peaceful town, Liz and the others venture into the center of the Infinite Labyrinth to destroy the Dimensions Parasite, a Paranormal creature that Liz believes could destroy their world.[15] In a confrontation with the ultimate form of its protector, the God of Death, Liz becomes trapped in a temporal vortex for 22 years, aging rapidly to the age of 50.[16] Liz witnessed the monster being killed after the sacrifice of her best friend, Thiago. Upon returning home, she resumed her pattern of alcoholism and depression.[17]
Deconjuration[]
After numerous deaths, bloodshed, and 22 years of her life lost at the hands of the God of Death, Liz distances herself from the Ordo Realitas, exhausted by the organization, and begins investigating the Deconjuration Order, mentioned in one of the papers she found in the Holy Cradle Bunker. According to her, all the cases she had participated in until then were related to this "Desconjurating," and the symbol behind it was planning something much bigger compared to anything she had seen before. Alongside her former police colleague, Gustavo Dohmer, who became interested in the matter, she embarks on an esoteric investigation, delving into various cases that could be linked to the same group of occultists, until her mysterious disappearance.[18]
With her sudden disappearance, the Order sends a team of agents to try to find her, including Cesar Cohen, Arthur Cervero, and Joui Jouki - former members who worked with her -, as well as Fernando Carvalho, Erin Parker, Tristan Monteiro, and Beatrice Portinari, sending them to the New Dawn Building, the last place she was known to have been before vanishing completely.[19] At the location, inside the apartment Liz had rented, they manage to find some interesting information, such as a diary where she drew symbols and made notes, the old document found in the Holy Cradle Bunker, newspaper clippings about supernatural cases, a recording, and a letter to her apprentice.[20][21]

Guto,
If you're reading this, it's too late.
Take all my notes on the damn Deconjuration and BURN EVERYTHING.
Do not come after me, flee this building IMMEDIATELY!!! At this point, they should be coming. RUN.Letter from Liz
In the letter, Liz tells her apprentice to run and burn all her notes, because "they" were coming, and if "they" found them, the whole plan could be jeopardized. It's evident that, with her disappearance, they didn't manage to escape in time, ending up being caught by these previously unknown individuals.

After a few more events, such as the first transcendences with Agatha and the disagreement between Luciano and the team, Kaiser, Arthur, Joui, and Beatrice, along with the newest member, Dante, go to where Liz was supposedly located, the St. Menefreda Orphanage. After a considerable amount of time exploring and facing Escribes, the group manages to find her location through challenges proposed by Henri, who says she's trapped on the second floor of the base, which strangely turns out to be true.[22]
She is found imprisoned with Guto in one of the cells in the orphanage's prison, where other severely injured individuals are held, seemingly mistreated. Her friend Guto is acting as an Existed.[23] Eventually, Liz is rescued by Joui, Kaiser, Arthur, Beatrice, and Dante. However, before they can escape, the group is surrounded by the Escribes and their leader Gal. Gal mentions that he was waiting for the agents' arrival, that each of them has a role to fulfill, and that the path is set. Gal then uses a Mind Control Ritual on Joui, taking control of his movements, and forces him to kneel and hand over his katana, which he uses to kill Liz by stabbing her in the chest.[3]
The Letter to Guto[]
Before dying, Elizabeth left another letter written to Guto, which was never revealed and only came to light after the death of the character, out of the universe, in a special farewell live for the character made by Gabi.
Calamity[]
During the first Transcendence ritual of Carina Leone, equivalent to 50% paranormal exposure, a silhouette slowly unveils itself as Elizabeth Webber in Carina's mind through Gabi's Mark. She reveals to Carina that hatred is not always the solution and that the love she felt was stronger than any hatred she could experience.
The Secret in the Forest - Parts 1 and 2 (Potential Future)[]
Five years after what was her death, Elizabeth would marry Thiago Fritz. In a ceremony at sunset on the beach, with all the Order agents as guests (including Christopher, Kaiser, and Joui), they would share their matrimonial kiss.
Two years after that, following a difficult but uncomplicated birth, Liz and Thiago would have a daughter together: "a beautiful girl", as the doctor would say, named Lucille Webber Fritz, in honor of Elizabeth's late mother.
Lucille would be a prodigy with the violin, playing spectacularly well and even participating in talent shows and concerts. Eventually, she would have a son, whom she would name Arnaldo Fritz, after her great-grandfather.
At 63 years old, Elizabeth would face Thiago's cancer diagnosis, with heart tumors. However, with Liz and Lucille's support, he would overcome the illness. After his recovery, Liz and Thiago would promise each other to fulfill one dream per year, and they would do so well into their seventies and beyond.
However, this was taken by Death, by Time. After the effects of the Gof of Death's Descending Spiral, Elizabeth's Potential Energy was consumed. All the moments, all the encounters, all the experiences... everything was stolen from her: everything that could have been and wasn't.
Quirks and phobias[]
Constant Nightmares: Elizabeth often dreamed about the day she was attacked with her mother, Lucille, but whenever she tried to see what happened before everything unfolded, she would wake up.
Arachnophobia: Fear of spiders. It was acquired during the encounter against the Aracnasite that had "kidnapped" Thiago Fritz during the 3rd episode of The Secret in the Forest.[24]
Nightmare[]
I'm resting my head on my desk. I lift it up and see that the room I'm in is brightly lit. It's illuminated because the walls are on fire. And the fire... it licks all the walls of the room, but the room... it's not hot, the fire doesn't touch me. However... I hear not only the fire burning and crackling, but voices coming from within it, and the voices are familiar. I hear Thiago's voice. I hear Daniel's voice. I hear Alex's voice, Cris's voice, Gonzales's voice... I hear many vivid voices, and then... a silhouette starts emerging from the fire. A dark silhouette. I can't see a face, I can't distinguish who it is. This silhouette... it reaches out its hand to me, and I... reach my hand back to it. When I touch the silhouette's hand, I see my mother's face, and she starts catching fire too. My mother begins to melt and turn into a large pool of sludge on the floor. The same black sludge from Holy Cradle. I kneel on the ground, and I can hear my mother's screams coming from inside that sludge. When I look deep into that sludge... all I feel is the urge to touch it. And as I touch the sludge, the dream ends.

Relationships[]
- Alexsander Kothe: In The Paranormal Order, Elizabeth initially saw Alex as just a civilian who didn't deserve to be caught up in the turmoil caused by the occultists. Despite this, due to the aversion displayed by her colleagues towards Alex, Liz ends up taking a contrary stance towards him, repressing him whenever possible. In her final battle during the cleansing of the Nostradamus School, Liz ends up blaming herself for Alex's death, much like what happened with Daniel, and she keeps his glasses as a reminder. However, in Initiation, Elizabeth respects and treats Alex well as a teammate; she even lets him spend the night at her apartment and is deeply affected by his death. In "Hotel", when Liz is attacked by the Guilt Parasite, she confronts a manifestation of Alex in her nightmare, and she becomes emotionally distraught, feeling remorse in his presence, especially when Alex reflects on her behavior and reminds her of her mother's death.[30]
- Arthur Cervero: Prior to the events of the 6th episode of The Secret in the Forest, Liz felt uncertain about Arthur's intentions due to his association with a gang and his opposition to her as a police officer. However, after all that unfolded, Liz realized that he had a good heart and was at that moment disoriented by everything that had happened. After spending 22 years trapped in the grasp of the The God of Death, she distanced herself from him, fearing to harm him with her investigations into the Deconjuration. Yet, she maintained the affection she felt for him.
- Beatrice Portinari: The two interacted little during their failed escape from the Orphanage, so they never established any relationship. It's possible that Liz passed away without even memorizing her teammate's name.
- Cristopher Cohen: Due to his outgoing, noisy, and sometimes clumsy behavior, Liz had a certain aversion to Cris, often treating him with coldness. Nevertheless, she recognized his qualities and paid her respects upon his death, leaving a photo of her mother near his grave for a while as a symbol of that.[31]
- Daniel Hartmann: In The Paranormal Order, getting to know him better during their first case, Liz developed an admiration for Daniel and his work as a writer, something that even inspired her professionally. After his death, even though she couldn't have done anything to prevent it, Liz blames herself for not saving him from being consumed by the Degolified, and she kept his water flask as a reminder of her failure. In Initiation, not much different from that, Liz respects and cares for him, intervening in his fight with Alex in the professor's apartment.
- Dante: Liz always despised Dante, as she remembered him as an occultist during the death of Leonardo Gomes. However, upon seeing Dante risking his own mind to save Beatrice's life, she apologizes to him, acknowledging that despite being an occultist, Dante is not a bad person.[32]
- Joui Jouki: Her first encounter with Joui was during a paranormal attack he and a group of friends experienced. After saving his life, Liz had to teach him in an order recruitment training, making her a mentor to Joui. Through their actions during the investigation of the Carpazinha Case, Elizabeth became friends with Joui and saw him as someone she must protect. Because of this, she sometimes took on a maternal behavior towards him. After spending 22 years trapped by The God of Death, she distanced herself from him, fearing to hurt him in her investigations about Deconjuration. However, as revealed before her death, Liz saw Joui as a son and loved him unconditionally.
- Kaiser: At the beginning of their first investigation together with Cesar, Liz observes the relationship between Kaiser and his father, Cristopher, and starts to despise Kaiser for the way he treated his father. She saw him as unfriendly given the situation. But after Cris's death, she changes her stance toward Kaiser, realizing that he truly cared for his father and had repressed feelings. From then on, Liz reconsidered respecting Kaiser and learned to value his skills and talents in the Carpazinha case. She also felt jealousy whenever she saw Kaiser close to Thiago, as she considered Thiago her best friend. After spending 22 years trapped by The God of Death, she distanced herself from Kaiser, afraid to hurt him in her investigations about Deconjuration. However, she demonstrated affection for him after their reunion.
- Lucille Webber: For Liz, her mother was undoubtedly an important person in her life. Despite the absence of her father, Lucille always tried to take good care of her daughter and avoid relationship conflicts between them. The death of her mother was a devastation for Liz, turning her into a colder and harsher person, and completely altering the course of her future plans. Due to Lucille's mysterious and unexplained death, Elizabeth spent a lot of time searching and researching in her paranormal cases for something that could explain the real reason behind the accident.
- Thiago Fritz: In The Paranormal Order, the two worked together on their first case as agents to try to solve the fire at the Nostradamus High School. During this time, Liz saw Thiago as an unstable person who could end up getting hurt sooner or later due to his involvement with various people, driven by his charisma. She feared he might end up in a situation similar to hers when she lost her mother. In Initiation, due to their contrasting personalities, Liz and Thiago frequently clashed, even having a fight after Gonzales's death. Despite this, they respected each other, and Elizabeth showed concern for him by breaking up their fights and protecting him when needed. Others even saw them as a couple due to their turbulent relationship. In the end, Elizabeth had to save Thiago's life by carrying him out of the school after an intense battle with the Degolified. They eventually visited each other in the hospital, spending a lot of time together in that situation, which brought them closer. Liz considered Thiago her best friend and he held significant importance to her. Losing Thiago was undoubtedly one of the most devastating experiences for the character, causing her to even hallucinate about him after his death.[33]
