Domus Aurea, or Golden House, is a ruined palace in Rome built by Kian and Emperor Nero to serve as one of the headquarters of Ordo Calamitas. Its ruins were connected to the Semper Clausa's ruins via underground routes.

History[]

Past[]

The place was built by Nero and Veritus to be a Ordo Calamitas' base.

Escribe Arrival[]

After the incidents at the Leone's Mansion, Kian ordered the Escribes to go to the Domus Aurea to look for a secret passage, having learned of the place's involvement with the Ordo Calamitas. Alef, after blowing up a wall with a bazooka, discovers the passage. Kian and the Scribes follow until they find an altar with a statue of the Wretched Semblance. After Kian touches the statue, he passes out, waking up minutes later, revealing that the relics are there.

While Kian and the Scribes go after members of the order, the Marked go after where one of the Relics of Calamity used to be, The Devil's Throne. After finding an old prison and traces of blood, they fight Blood Zombies and investigate the room. The Escribes hear a sound and proceed down a corridor, finding a statue of a Minotaur. When looking for the source of the sound, they found The Cyclops, a colossal creature, even without its legs, it was in the middle of a room with some kind of mechanism below it, making it spin. After going around it, they follow through a kind of labyrinth until they find a tablet with drawings that portray a battle against The Minotaur and a lever. Boris pulls it out, thus closing the doors and revealing The Minotaur. The Escribes then go after the items drawn on the tablet to defeat him. After an intense battle, Gal launches his Ereshkigal and decapitates the monster. They then cut off the creature's head and proceed to the room with the Minotaur statue and fit the head into the missing space, opening a door.

Following the path forward, they find a large door, which when opened reveals a room with several benches, red stained glass, a rug in the shape of the Blood Symbol and a throne on a stage. Minutes later, the Metallic Dragons enter the place, Gal being a big fan of the band has a brief dialogue with them and even reluctantly, starts the battle against the Dragons, which after a long fight, later results in death from all the band members and from Artemis. Kian then arrives after the fight asking about how they are, after a brief discussion about Artemis's death, he orders all the scripts to leave and leave him alone with Gal. Afterwards, Kian has a conversation about how Gal helped him complete his plan to become a Marked One, revealing that his sister is alive on Tenebris. Kian then opens one of his hands and an incredible mesmerizing translucent flame appears to Gal, who sees it as if he were observing a glimmer of God. The flame gradually transforms and dissolves, and shortly after that, Kian, without any apparent remorse, strikes him with his Blade of Fear, leaving him in a critical state on the ground, revealing that this is his part of an agreement, made with Clarissa earlier.
