Dominic Sy Pierre

Dominic Sy Pierre is a member of Obscurité, an independent gang of occultists from France who fight against the paranormal, making a cameo in the 10th episode of Calamity. Together with Yuki, he was called to deliver a box to Leone's Mansion, under the orders of Marc Menet, and stayed at the place to protect it from an invasion along with members of the group Hell Hunters and Arthur, Balu and Rubens. Dominic is connected with a Mark from the Other Side.

Appearance

Dominic is a black man who has almost blond golden braids with a whitish color, on his arms he has several scars that are made with cigarettes, representing each person he killed. On his hands Dominic wears black fingerless gloves. He usually walks around wearing a burgundy-colored overcoat with a high collar and yellow trim, with shoulder pads, over a dark blue dress shirt, in his only appearance he wears black pants and chains around his arms that connect to his gun. When in combat, Dominic uses a large scythe, with a brown handle wrapped in pink bands, which connect to his chains, enabling long-distance attacks. Additionally, Dominic carries a golden revolver on his waistband.

Personality

Dominic proves to be most of the time a very relaxed man, speaking calmly, loosely and without formalities, both in casual situations and in extreme danger, demonstrating a certain apathy with the people around him, with the exception of Yuki. Dominic cares a lot about his friend's well-being, showing great concern, anger and even despair when he realises that Yuki is in danger.

Biography

Past

Not much is known about his past, just that he grew up in Paris alongside his father, where he joined the Obscurité and later befriended Yuki Saito, becoming best friends.

Calamity

During a mission in Paris, Marc asked Dominic and Yuki to bring a box from the Catacombs of Paris to the Leone's Mansion, so both of them went to Italy and fought in the first wave of attacks of the Escribes, taking out much of the enemy.

With the arrival of Arthur Cervero, Balu and Rubens Naluti at the mansion, Dominic helped in the second wave of attacks, killing some Mummies and supporting the fight against the Sphinx Carrion, leaving the fight victorious. After the confrontation, the two members of the Obscurité delivered the box to Arthur and returned to Paris to continue their mission.

Abilities

Otherside Element Affinity: Dominic has an affinity for Element of Knowledge, allowing him to cast Knowledge rituals without requiring ingredients. And also being able to use Knowledge rituals as a standard action, rather than a full action, in addition to being able to develop a certain affinity with paranormal powers of Knowledge.

Precognition: Dominic has a kind of sixth sense, sensing incoming attacks around him, gaining +5 defense for close-range attacks.

Power Attack: When using 2 to 6 EP, allows the user to add +5 attack hit for each EP used, or add 1 damage die for every 2 EP used.

Volatile Attack: Whenever attacking with a two-handed weapon, the wielder may use 1 EP causing his Strength modifier to damage doubled.

Bring it On "Heads Up": By usingg 2 EP, Dominic makes an Intimidate test against DT 20, if he passes Dominic taunts the target until the start of his next turn. While taunted, the target is at -10 when attacking any target other than Dominic.

Mercenary "The best defense is a good offense": By using 2 EP (effort points), Dominic can perform two main actions on his first turn.

Hard Shell: Dominic adds his Vigor to the block's damage reduction and gains bonus HPs.

Trivia

• Dominic is allergic to smoke, as stated by him before burning the bodies of the Escribes in the garage of Leone's Mansion.
• Dominic does not drink any alcoholic beverages other than whiskey.
• For the creation of Dominic, Abelha was inspired by the singer Yunk Vino and in the character Killmonger from Black Panther for appearance; and in the actor Omar Sy for the name.
