The Diary of God, also known as Calamity Grimoire or Arnaldo Fritz's Grimoire, is a mysterious paranormal object barely understood in the story. It is known that, at some point, Arnaldo has found the book and then started to register all his research about the Other Side in it. The grimoire's first appearance happened in the 8th episode of Deconjuration, when Mr. Verity opened his safe in his room during the invasion of the Sect of the Masks in the Order's base. However, the book only appears visually in the 20th episode of Deconjuration, when Mr. Verity shows the grimoire to Arthur Cervero and Dante, telling them that the previous owner had left it for him before he died.
The grimoire is the key element in Paranormal Order: Calamity season, as it is able to give important informations about the Relics of Calamity and the main mysteries that involves the Calamity itself.

Properties

The grimoire is a thick book made of dark leather with golden details in the corners. It has two gold adorned locks, besides the golden occultism symbols in the cover. The book is a paranormal object that reveals more pages when other page belonged to it is annexed inside.

When it was completed, the grimoire was described as a book that makes no sense. It shouldn't exist at all. As it was a piece of the impossible, the endlessness in form of pages. When opened, all the pages became black with golden sigils from the Other Side and they started swiftly passing as if they had life their own. After empowering the user the ability to control the fate of Reality, it closed and remained closed like an ordinary book.

Pages

Below, we have the pages of the grimoire that we know so far. However, it is not known the cronological order of them. Therefore, the pages were separated according to their content or subject in common.

The most part of the pages were purposely scattered by The Devil for the Team Vultures to find in their investigations. In the ruins of the Ordo Calamitas, The Host also contributed for that. Only the last page of the grimoire was given to the team by The Magistrate.

Other Side Elements

There are four pages in the grimoire that explain the elements of the Other Side and their relations between them.

Blood: "The Blood is the entity of Feelings. It seeks the intensity: pain, obsession, passion, love, hunger, hate - everything envolving feeling an extreme emotion pleases the Blood Entity. The extreme feelings of Blood surpass the Knowledge's reason and calmness."

On the top of the page, hidden with dark light, it's written "The Throne".

Death: "The Death is the entity of Time. It seeks the lived moments, distorting the egocentric perception of each individual's existence for its own satisfaction. The temporal distortion of Death ruins the Blood's carnal perception."

In the page's center, hidden with dark light, it's written "Everything ends. Everything returns".

Energy: "The Energy is the entity of Chaos. Everything that cannot be explained, the intangible, anarchy. The constant change, the heat and the cold, the light and the darkness. Everything that involves unpredictability and transformation pleases the Energy Entity. The transformation of Energy overloads the Death's effects."

On the top of the page, hidden with dark light, it's written "Never the same".

Knowledge: " The Knowledge is the entity of Consciousness. Discovering, learning, knowing, deciphering. Having one's own perception of the Other Side and its entities pleases the Knowledge element. The reason and logic of Knowledge reintegrate and suppress the Energy's chaos."

Around the Knowledge sigils, there's a lot of notes with a handwriting different than Arnaldo's, like "What does it mean to transcend?", "Seems to follow Zipf's law", "How it's possible to read without knowing a language?" and "How can no one solve this?".

On the page's right side, hidden with dark light, it's written "They are watching".

The Devil

"If He, in fact, exists in the Reality as a summoned entity, I'll probably never know. His existence appears to be more like a fallacy to invoke the Fear... But his symbol... one of those that were in this grimoire when I found it. The Pact Symbol, is definitely real."

On the top of the page, hidden with dark light, it's written "Inheritors".

On this page, a big drawing of The Devil sit in a kind of throne is seen. A lot of Blood Zombies surround the throne. The entity has long horns projected to the front and a deformed face with a jagged tooth smile, besides his body from his trunk down is from a goat.

Description: Both missing officers were recently attributed to the mysterious case of the "Devil bros' circus". Twenty four hours after the dispatch, the monitoring department tried to get in touch with them in order to check the investigation progress, and then the incomucability was ascertained. After 48h of the last synchronous contact with Menezes and Cruzes, the status "missing in action" was determined. New investigations must go on to ascertain the officers whereabouts and determine the possibility of defection.

Map of Brazil: The region of Mato Grosso is circulated. There is a note that says: "I managed to deal with Juan Davo in Bariguara - his plans were a failure, no sign of The Devil. However, he became an awful creature. I hope Eusebio gets well. You've been missed in this case, V. I hope you come back soon."

Grimoire page: " The Davo brothers definitely were involved directely with the Pact Mark appellant in all of the appearances with evidences of the Devil in history. Lucas possibily fled with his brother, and then became obsessed with "bringing the Devil back". What is the Devil? It is some sort of a ritual or agreement? Maybe the "Devil" is just a name for an object extremely powerful that can be invoked? The devil really exist?"

Newspaper snip: "AFTER ALL, WHAT IS THIS "DEVIL'S SHOW" ABOUT? Although some people still believe that this show is a urban legend, the infame "Devil Show" seems to create a restlessness in the neighborhood. Many of people said that had lived many traumatic events in this clandestine circus, that, accordingly to depositions, supposedly "melts and disappears from existence". The police of the city do not seem to be taking..."

Police station - Registers: There are two snips of registration forms in the police. The first one says:
"NAME: Juan Davo - GENDER: masculine BIRTH: 04/15/1938 - EYE COLOR: brown".
The second one says:
"NAME: Lucas Davo - GENDER: masculine - BIRTH: 09/13/1941 - EYE COLOR: brown".

Both of them have past involvement in crimes, such as simple and qualified theft, embezzlement, kidnapping, murder and prison escape in 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964.

Post-it: "Brothers who escaped from prison. The "Pact's Mark" was found on the cell". There is an arrow pointing to a photo that contains the symbol of the Pact marked on a wall.

Note: Underneath the photo of the devilish circus, there is a note that says: "Juan Davo tried to open a new circus by himself, but it was a failure. Why? Lucas was the true accountable?"

Sect of the Masks

A page that contains the symbol of the Despair Mask with diferents notes and sigils of the other side. The calligraphy of the text is not the same as Arnaldo, and it is similar to the calligraphy in the notes in the page about the Knowledge element. In alfabeth letters, we can read:

"The Other Side Sigils of Knowledge marked in a kind of pentagram with several circles of invocation and triangles, that supposedly should indicate transformation. If this is actually one of the Relics symbols, this Relic seems to provide purely the Knowledge element used by occultists.

Maybe it is plausible to believe that this Mark represents the own consciousness from the Other Side, and not only the human mind enlightenment.

Some old legends tell about chosen people able to comunicate with these entities and even receive some answers about the most indecipherable truth. Some ancient stories tell that some answers led them to insanity while others seemed to join the silhouettes after making some kind of deal or agreement."

In sigils of the Other Side, we can read: "NOSTIS OMNIA PERDET OMNIA" in red on the top and in black on the middle of the page.

In this page, there is a drawing of some hooded figures with ropes in their necks. In the center, one of this figures is wearing the Despair Mask. In the text below, we can read:

"And there are not few reports that affirm seen these "shadow people" - they are present in innumerable cultures, constantly ilustrated with despair looks. Whispers also are repeatedly mentioned, indescribable words accompany the presence of these frightful silhouettes - some eccentrics reports details even the presence of ropes tied around their necks."

However, all information found about the "Shadow People" indicate that these creatures never directly seem to affect or change the environment which they are found, as they were just observer entities, following restricted and unbreakable rules."

In the middle of the paragraphs, hid by black light, we can read: "The Owner's Despair". Besides that, a pencil drawing of two silhouettes is seen in the corner, representing the shadow people with their despair faces and ropes in their necks.

Death

In this page there is a drawing of a hooded figure touching a man that cries some black liquid. The hooded figure seems to get out from a distorced substance similar do the black ooze, that expands around them. Below, there is a text with the same caligraphy of Arnaldo Fritz, that say:

"How do so many different cultures continue to report so many transcendental experiences of "watching their own life in the blink of an eye" before dying or in near-death experiences? These reports seem to fit in even more in my research narrative - and give a new meaning to the concept of time, existence and "soul". Could it be possible to have a glimpse of other lives besides your own? What does it mean to give consciousness to one's own Death? If we could see the future, what does it mean to be free?"

Ordo Calamitas

In this page, there is the symbol of Calamity and diferents notes from Arnaldo. "In this search for the origin of the Paranormal, maybe I have been naive to think that I would only find allusive informations about the entities of the Other Side. It was evident that at some point, I would run into those similar to us in the past. The oldest registers of those that dedicated their lives to study and combat the Other Side have a transversal physical point in common. Maybe the popular saying was really right... All the ways brought me here.
Hidden in a place created by Reality, known for many, stained by blood, ruled by chaos and that refuses to ruin with time.
Sometimes we face the answers in the eyes and even so we can't see them. If there is a heart in the center of Reality, nourished by the hypocrisy of our struggle against the Other Side, that place would hold the answers I need to find. A place protected by Balance."

Over the Calamity symbol, hidden in black light, there is the Tenebris symbol, and also the note "Flavian Amphitheater".

General notes

"Sometimes I find myself conflicted... Is it really so dangerous to compile so much knowledge about the Paranormal in one place? Maybe Verity is right. Too much knowledge in the wrong hands could cause a... catastrophe. Nevertheless, it's not every day that you come across a cult dedicated to an entity with records dating back thousands of years... my research to find the beginning of everything will not be in vain. From somewhere, all of this started, and that has to be the answer to protect Reality once and for all. The evidence from this last case is too important to be destroyed - I believe I'll have to pay a visit to old friends and use their safe. I can't think of a better place to safeguard this information."
In the bottom corner of the page, hidden in black light, it is written: "04-13-02-11," and the emblem of the Leone family is also revealed with the black light.

"The existence of something like that, for thousands of years. This changes everything! I need to see it with my own eyes. Verity, if you're reading this, it means you were right.

I'm sorry. You always told me that some questions should never be answered... but I feel that something terrible is lurking. Kian and his followers should be more powerful than we encountered. Why didn't he use the Relics before if his plan was to destroy everyone? What did he need to achieve?

I need to find the Masks. I need to find an answer. I will register each step of my new discoveries in this Grimoire, a compilation of all my findings from the Other Side stored here. If there is any safe place to store the knowledge from the Other Side, it is in this Grimoire. If the worst happens, at least I know that one day you will continue our struggle.

In the corner of the page, there is the current symbol representing the Order, and below it, hidden in black light, it is written: "Ordo Realitas".

Relics of Calamity

There are four pages that speak of each of the known Relics of Calamity, how they manifest, who carries them, and who inhibits them. The handwriting on these pages is neither Arnaldo's nor that of the other author who writes about the Sect of the Masks and the element of Knowledge.

Blood: "The Relic of Blood wielder is the Devil. The wielder of the Relic of Blood can control the physical manifestation of creatures from the Other Side regardless of their element. In other words, they can summon any creature that has ever existed whenever and however they want. The Relic of Blood can choose to force itself upon its next wielder if it decides they are "worthy" of being its "heir". When free from a Wielder, the Relic of Blood takes on a solid physical form that transforms its surroundings into a realm of carnage, monstrosities, and obsession. This form is known as the "Throne".

The wielder of the Relic of Blood can offer or accept a "Pact" - an agreement capable of creating a bond of obsessive dependency, resulting in a mutual exchange between the Devil and the dealer.

Only the Relic of Death surpasses the Relic of Blood."

At the top of the page, there is the Symbol of the Pact drawn in the center, and several other sketches of the same symbol around it.

Death: "The wielder of the Relic of Death is unknown. The Relic of Death manifests in cycles. It is destined to destroy and be reborn. It is physically impossible to contain the Relic of Death in one place as it moves through Time and not space. Therefore, the Relic of Death can exist in multiple places simultaneously. When free from a Wielder, the Relic of Death manifests in an unknown manner, but in its surroundings, an anachronistic civilization is always formed, declared with the same name, translated into numerous different forms: "Eternal Beginning", "Holy Cradle", "Sacred Start", "Divine Origin".

The civilizations form around Spiral Symbols. The symbols appear to vary from one to another, as if no Holy Cradle has yet achieved the "correct" version of the symbol.

Only the Relic of Energy surpasses the Relic of Death."

At the top of the page, there are several sketches of different spiral symbols from the others.

Energy: "The wielder of the Relic of Energy is the Host. The Relic of Energy always transforms upon finding a new Wielder. It never has the same physical form. The wielder of the Relic of Energy only cares about having fun with chaos, distorting the rules of Reality in their own games. The motivations and purposes of the wielder of the Relic of Energy always seem irregular and contradictory, as if their desires and objectives transform with each new Wielder."
When free from a Wielder, the Relic of Energy takes on an ethereal non-solid form, like an infinite ray or flame, always in constant motion and transformation.

The Wielders of the Relic of Energy always seem to stumble upon it by pure chance or luck, in extremely opportune moments.

Only the Relic of Knowledge surpasses the Relic of Energy."

At the bottom of the page, there is the symbol of the Host drawn in the center, and several other sketches of the same symbol around it.

Knowledge: "The Relic of Knowledge is the Despair Mask. The wielder of the Relic of Knowledge is the Magistrate.
The wielder of the Relic of Knowledge is responsible for maintaining the Balance. The Balance is upheld by seeking out those who become too powerful and consuming them for the Sect of the Masks."
The Sect of the Masks is a conglomerate of the minds of all its members transformed into a singular mind, constantly debating amongst themselves what the Balance is.
The wielder of the Relic of Knowledge, seeking the Balance, always offers an agreement to those who disturb the Balance.
The wielder of the Relic of Knowledge knows everything and remembers everything but cannot act or interfere until the Balance is considered disturbed.
The wielder of the Relic of Knowledge has the power to conceal or erase memories in Reality.

Only the Relic of Blood surpasses the Relic of Knowledge.

In the middle of the page, there is the symbol of the Despair Mask drawn in the center, and several other sketches of the same symbol around it.

Other Side

Upon finding this page, Team Vultures received the information that it would be the last page of the Grimoire and the necessary element to complete the book, as well as the first step to make Kian play by the rules. It is a completely black page with golden details on the edges, the Other Side Symbol in the center, and a text in Sigils from the Other Side, which, when transcribed, says:

"The Reality is a dissociation dimension to the Entities from the Other Side.

Everyone in Reality needs to forget. To know everything is to lose everything.

The manifestation of the Other Side in Reality is summoned

controls

constitutes the Chains of Reality.

All of those in Reality are ruled by the Chains of Reality.

The Marks' entities override the control of the Chains of Reality.

The Relics allow the transfer of control from one entity to another.

The Chains of Reality need to be ruled by an entity.

The control of the Chains can be transferred or destroyed by Tenebris.

is the threshold between Reality and the Other Side.

The Blood is the impulse of the fervor of the entities' emotions in Reality.

The Death must maintain the chronology of Reality. All stories need an end.

The Knowledge must maintain balance for Reality to evoke a purpose.

The Energy determines unpredictability. Not even the Chains of Reality should control everything.

''The Fear all the entities purpose, The Fear is endless."

By fitting this page into the Grimoire, Carina Leone was able to access the Truth and control the fate of Reality. Thus, Carina managed to weaken Kian's power, preventing him from performing rituals. At that moment, her eyes turned white, and she let out a scream of agony. Similarly, Kian's eyes turned white, and his glowing tattoos flickered as he cried out in despair, realizing he would never be able to perform any ritual again.

Trivia

• At the moment Carina placed the black page in the Grimoire, what actually happened was that Gabi could remove something from Kian's character sheet, and what was deleted were his rituals.
• In the Calamity ARG, in the extra riddle, the final answer was just the phrase "What would do the man that read the Diary of God?".
• According to the Game Master, in the Episode 12 of Transcending, it is revealed that the Grimoire is an artifact that Kian does not understand, making him even more furious during the battle against the Order in The Colosseum during the 12th episode of Calamity, as Kian is used to fully understanding the Other Side.
