The Devilish Mansion is a key location in Paranormal Order: Deconjuration, being a large two-story house, designed by Mandraque Ângelo[1] and completed until 1970. Subsequently, around 1997, it was reformed and its price was reduced by the Front Real Estate Company,[2] the same from the New Dawn Building.[3] Located at the town of Canadense next to São Paulo, inside the Blue Condominium, the 11th Street, House 27, this mansion is known as a haunted house after the disappearance of its four residents, two of them being the adoptive parents of Leonardo Gomes. The local was visited by the Ordo Realitas team D-Force during an investigation into Leonardo’s past and his connection with the Escribes.

Description[]

Currently, the residence stands out from the rest of the condominium with its evil aura, dirty, cracked and abandoned stone walls, dusty windows, a slightly grayer grass and next to it a large empty pool adding a morbid air. Despite this, its interior is in better condition, with the furniture preserved, a little dust and with the electricity working, although its lamps are apparently burned.[4]

History[]

Mandraque and Vanessa Ângelo[]

The house was built in the late 60s by Mandraque Ângelo[1] and completed until 1970. The architect and probable occultist lived in the house with his wife, Vanessa Ângelo, despite being absent most of the time, leaving Vanessa alone with the many cats who also lived in the mansion. Vanessa’s activities in the house were suspicious, as well as the figure of the woman herself being sinister, always walking in long and dark clothes, veil and gloves, being almost impossible to see her face. Vanessa made many dolls and delivered to several children in the neighborhood,[5] with hitherto hidden goals for the neighbors at the time. It was later discovered that Vanessa also made small marble statues with the features of the Wretched Semblance of Kian.[6]

Possibly orchestrated by Mandraque, Vanessa begins to seek what is necessary to perform what she calls the "Passage", performing through the process she calls the "Deconjuration", which is very effective in deconstructing the veil. It optimizes tests for the "Vessel of Knowledge" and writes in her notes: "Your supreme power will be protected the way you deserve, my love". The woman then goes in search of a Vessel, soon coming across Virgílio Scelto,[5] one of the guards of the condominium and resident of the house next door, perfect, for being young and strong. Following the plan of her beloved, Vanessa kidnapped four children and turned them into Existeds. One day, after hearing screams from inside the house, Virgílio went in and stayed there for several days, returning later to find his brother, Nestor Scelto, who says he looked different, as if he were someone else pretending to be Virgílio and then disappears, never again being seen by Nestor. With the continuation of the plan to continue the Passage, comes the most difficult stage, as Vanessa herself quotes in her notes: she takes the lives of the existing children and uses a ritual to force them trapped as entities in the mansion. Such a feat, as Vanessa quotes, would be enough to reach the necessary barrier and thus be able to reach the "eternal magnitude". After this conclusion, the "witch", as she was called, had a plan to get rid of the bodies of the existing children, already lifeless: she would feed her nine cats, who had not been fed for a few days and thirsted for blood. The facts and their temporal order are unclear after the events, but it is implied that the Passage was complete and successful and Vanessa feels guilty for what she did and is followed and observed by the cats until her collapse. She plucks the eyes of all the cats and hangs herself in one of the rooms, having her body devoured by the animals, already blind. With no one daring to search the house, Vanessa is reported missing in the year 1970 and the place is known as the Devilish Mansion, not having residents for more than a week until 1997.[5]

Salazar Lourenço[]

In 1997, the land of the house was bought by the Front Real Estate Company,[3] who reformed it and lowered its price,[7] allowing Salazar Lourenço, a lone photographer, to move to the location and recorded some audio tapes with reports of his stay. The photographer narrates that he began to hear some noises probably caused by the age of the house.[8]

Another night, after hearing whispers, Salazar ends up discovering that several people leave the forest and try to enter the house, he then tries to take a picture of these people but fails, then programs a camera with motion sensor to take a good photo in his place,[9] and in this photo it's possible to see Virgílio Scelto, now older, accompanied by two other people.

Somehow, Salazar ends up finding a body inside the walls of the house. In addition, he finds photos he does not remember taking, notices tattoos appearing on his body and voices of several children saying that he will join them, which leaves him panicked.[10] [11] In his last record, Salazar is completely out of his mind, talking repeatedly about how he only exists when it is recorded.[12]

Fátima Mare, Heitor Mare, Frederico Mare and Leonardo Gomes[]

On April 15, 2005, the property was acquired by Heitor Mare through the Front Real Estate Company. Heitor along with his wife, Fátima Mare, and their adoptive children, Frederico Mare and Leonardo Gomes, which was adopted a few days before the acquisition of the property, move to the mansion. The couple’s stay in the house was troubled, with Heitor stressing too much thinking about his music, Spiralem Melodiam, Fátima worried about hearing and seeing strange things in the house, blaming Frederico for everything that happened abnormal. Meanwhile, Leonardo made contact with Álvaro Augusto, Tirigan, who showed to the young strange symbols. The climax of the situation was close to June 5 of the same year, when Leonardo’s parents disappeared, abandoning the young man who returned to the orphanage.[13] Almost all records regarding Leonardo’s adoptive parents and the mansion were censored or erased by some kind of occultist ritual, making them indecipherable.

Daniel Hartmann[]

Daniel Hartmann travels to the Devilish Mansion in search of inspiration to write a new book, Daniel somehow ends up getting in touch with the spirit of the children who tell him their story and the Witch who had killed them.[14] Based on this story, Daniel writes the book "The Lurker and other horror stories", being responsible for the creation of The Lurker. In addition to taking note of the events involving the photographer Salazar Lourenço and draft on a monster with long arms and that is only seen when photographed, he also ends up creating the Drowned Woman, due to the murder story of Fátima Mare by her own son Frederico Mare moved by the rage of a ritual used by Álvaro Augusto, that made him kill his mother while she was bathing.

Ordo Realitas[]

In November 2020, the mansion is visited again now by agents of the Ordo Realitas, who were looking for more information about the connection of the past of Leonardo Gomes and the house with the Escribes.

During the exploration of the site, the team came across a series of paranormal events happening in the house, as the plumbing system expelling a red liquid similar to blood, four coffins studded with one Symbol, porcelain dolls without eyes with another occultist symbol marked, and a supernatural protection under the house. One of the threats of this place was an invisible entity that could only be revealed temporarily, named Traveler, responsible for the murders of Tristan Monteiro,[15] Orpheu and the officers Ana Júlia and Juarez Pontes. After the Traveler’s defeat, they continue investigating the house, discovering the involvement of former agent Daniel Hartmann in the past of the house even before he joined the Order. They encounter one of the monsters originated from the writer’s tales, the Lurker. After a battle with it and its Devoureds, the team is victorious and continues to investigate the house. After recovering, they return and face another monster related to something paranormal in the song Spiralem Melodiam by Heitor Mare. The agents discover that he became obsessed with this song, always wanting to get to the end of it, as much as it is a loop, which leads him to madness. The team then has to face the paranormal manifestation generated from the brutal death of Heitor, the Listened. The team faces off against several of these monsters as Arthur plays the song, which sets the length of the battle. As soon as he finishes, they find a key inside the guitar and are able to proceed with the investigation. After this, the group witnesses the manifestation of the memory of the tragic death of Fátima Mare and discover that her story served as inspiration for the creation of the tale of the Drowned Woman. Again, the agents confront the creature originated from the stories of Daniel, who almost drowns Luciano Carvalho and Arthur Cervero, but was destroyed before doing so. Finally, they open the last door of the house, unraveling the mysteries of Frederico Mare’s past and deciding to go interrogate him at his home.

First Floor[]

Right Entrance[]

This entrance is located to the right of the house and is not present in the blueprint of the house of 1970. There is a pool with a slightly disturbing appearance, being very dirty, clearly not being full for a long time, and a vast space to possibly park cars. Upon arriving at the house, the agents decided to enter through the door to the right of the house, a very large and sturdy door. After two failed breakout attemps of Kaiser, Tristan Monteiro fired three times with his silenced weapon breaking the lock and allowing the agents to enter. Upon entering through this door, the agents came across a large corridor, with an entrance to the living room on their left and a door leading to the tool closet on their right.

Hidden Room behind the Wall[]

Mysteriously, from 1:12 AM until 2:11 AM, a crack appears at the end of the corridor from the entrance to the right. The agents blew up this crack with a grenade, revealing a corpse, along with a dark photo and a tape. Later the agents return to the place, making noise with a cat collar with a bell, and because of this a disturbing noise is heard and twelve metal bowls fall along with a message in blood, which appears asking for blood in the bowls. The agents put blood in eight bowls, which is the wrong answer, and Joui Jouki, the agent who put the blood, feels like he’s been attacked by several cats. The blood poured out in the attack filled the ninth bowl and thus the spirits began to communicate through Eduarda Flom, that was in the dining room. The spirits talk about how the cats devoured the sacrificed bodies of the four Existed children and became addicted to blood and flesh, tormenting Vanessa until her collapse, and cite that they stopped holding the door, so the half-open room of the second floor was released.

Living Room[]

The living room is also the main entrance of the house, it is a large room that has a musty smell with a light cigarette tone. In the living room, there are two large yellowish sofas, two puffs that seem to be part of the same set of the sofa, a cabinet with glassware and some bottles of wine and, in the corner, there is a large television with a broken screen. Some of the agents used the living room to spend the night in the house. On the blueprint of the house of 1970, this room was originally the kitchen. This room also was where it took place the fight against the Traveler, that resulted in the death of the officer Juarez Pontes and Orpheu, in addition to the fight against the Listeneds.

Pantry for tools and laundry[]

The tool pantry, which is connected to the laundry room, is full of tools and cardboard and wood boxes. The agents' group 2 (Beatrice Portinari, Erin Parker, Fernando Carvalho and Tristan Monteiro) were the first to explore the site, finding several Celeb Time magazines dated 1996 to 1997. In the laundry room there is a washing machine, a tank sink, a closet that holds the hydraulic register and the electricity panel of the house, a back door and an entrance to a room that is apparently empty.

Later Beatrice and Dante return to the tool room, following the trail of a photo that appeared to be similar to the area, and find a brick half loose, behind it had a camera and a photo of a crack in the wall with a mark of "1:12 - 2:11".

"Empty" Room[]

At first glance the room appears to be empty, but the room changes in some circumstances. Named "Children’s Room" on the 1970’s house blueprint.

You realize that that room, which was once completely empty, is now emanating a red light...

GM

Red Room[]

The red room is a dark room of photo revelation, she was like this after the agents returned home after the first incident of the Traveler. The room shone with a red light, with several mirrored photographs, all are of faceless people, the room and products to reveal photos. The agents used the room to develop some photos. The room was used in 1997 by Salazar Lourenço, who used it from 10 PM until 2 AM.[16]

Dolls' Room[]

This place is a room full of dolls, they are all old and their eyes have been torn out, in the back of the room there is a closet and a chair. The room is named "Children’s Room" on the blueprint of the house from 1970. The room was like this after the agents lit a "purifying incense of knowledge" in the room for special events on the second floor. The agents found in the closet a book called "Remorseful Witch" along with 4 rows with 4 dolls each and a row without any dolls. The book asked for 4 dolls representing 4 dead residents. The first doll was found in the living room, a doll worn with witch clothes and a knot in the neck. The second doll was in the closet herself, but it was invisible and was revealed when the agents took a picture, it is a doll with black clothes that hides its face. The third doll was found in the bathroom on the first floor, a doll without clothes with large blonde hair. The fourth doll was found in the music room, her head was inside the piano and her body was inside a guitar, she seems to have black tears because of the dirt. By bringing the 4 dolls to the closet, a ritual symbol appears marked on the dining room table.

Reading Room[]

The reading room is located next to the living room, it has a table, two armchairs and two bookshelves, the place is filled with books, belonging to the family of Leonardo Gomes, with a number of main themes: "Advanced Musical Theory", "How to raise an adoptive child", "How to gain money at home" and some English handouts. The agents' group 1 (Arthur Cervero, Dante, Joui Jouki and Kaiser) were the first to explore the site, there they found an old recorder without any tape, a notebook telling a little about the house with some papers missing. This room is named "Kitchen" in the blueprint of the house of 1970.

Kitchen[]

The kitchen is located next to the reading room, it is a simple kitchen that at first seems normal. The agents' group 1 (Arthur Cervero, Dante, Joui Jouki and Kaiser) were the first to explore the site, there they realized that the sink was dripping a red liquid similar to blood, Kaiser opened the tap and the liquid began to gush violently and pull Kaiser, but he managed to close the tap causing the liquid to cease and return to the sink. The kitchen is named "Living Room" on the blueprint of the house of 1970. During the events of the 18th episode of Deconjuration it is revealed that beneath the refrigerator there was a secret passage leading to the sewers.

Bathroom[]

It is a very simple bathroom, has a very dense smell of mold because it has no window and the air exhaust system does not work. The agents' group 1 (Arthur Cervero, Dante,Joui Jouki and Kaiser) were the first to explore the site, they realized that the toilet was open, with a red liquid inside that began to rise, causing the agents to retreat for the time being.

Later, Kaiser, looking for one of the dolls in the doll room, returns to the bathroom, which is apparently normal, he decided to fill the bathtub that quickly turns red and a doll without clothes, with blond and large hair appears, when Kaiser takes the doll the liquid attacks him and tries to drown him. Joui, with the help of Arthur, Dante and Luciano, manages to rescue Kaiser.

Dining Room[]

The dining room is located in the center of the house, being very large with a table that has space for eight chairs, also has a fireplace and 2 paintings. Agent Erin Parker found a doll dressed as a witch hanging with a noose around her neck in the room after turning on the fireplace and turning off all the lights.

After the agents found the 4 dolls and put in the closet of the doll room, an occultist symbol, the same that was marked in the book of the special event room, appeared marked in the center of the table, soon after four voices of children began to be heard, asking to bring them their friends, mentioning the name of Eduarda Flom, a teenager living in the front house. The agents brought her in, with Cassiano Menta and Hugo Longo; that were in the front house, besides Tim Flom, who was hiding in the agents' van along with Beatrice Portinari in her Existed form. By bringing Eduarda she performed a kind of ritual that caused the voices of the children to come out of her, allowing communication between the 4 dead children and the agents of the order. The voices spoke of a witch who makes statues beneath the floor.

Office[]

The office is located next to the bathroom, it has a closet, a desk with an old notebook on top and a printer with a file waiting to be printed. After loading the notebook, they put the password (last 5-digits from Heitor Mare's RG) and open his "Bmail", confirming the printing of the file, being the first part of the melody "Spiralem Melodiam".

Library[]

It is a room similar to a school class, with 4 student desks, a teacher’s desk and a blackboard. On the floor blueprint of the house this room is named as "Library" in the blueprint of the house of 1970. Upon entering the room, the board begins to be scratched and a message appears, asking the reason for the "Useless piece of shit Father" to abandon his family. The reason is the second part of the melody "Spiralem Melodiam", that upon being played, makes a key appear on the edge of the board. In the same room, there was a drawing with 2 children and a dog, and a document Leonardo Gomes.

Second Floor[]

Music Room[]

The music room is located next to the stairs, being a large room with several musical instruments, a piano, a drum and two guitars. Inside one of the guitars was a doll’s body with and occultist symbol And inside the piano there was a doll’s head with torn eyes and a black dirt that makes it look like black tears. This room is named as "Rest Room" in the blueprint of the house of 1970. After Arthur Cervero played the 2 parts of the melody "Spiralem Melodiam" with one of the guitars in this room, a black key appears inside the instrument.

Bedroom 1[]

This room is a very simple room, has only one single bed, a closet, a chest of drawers and 2 doors for 2 different corridors. The agents found in this room a picture of the house from 1970.

Main Bedroom[]

This room is a large bedroom, has a large double bed, with dressers on both sides with lamps on top and a large closet. The agents found in one of the chests of drawers a bible, which apparently has nothing special, and a tear of newspaper with a number of a real estate, the same real estate from the New Dawn Building.

One of the chests of drawers was locked and was unlocked with the key that was given by Nestor Scelto, inside this drawer was a collar with a bell and a paper that talked about taking the lives of the existed children and making a Forced Haunt Ritual that would leave them trapped as entities in the house. This room is named "Main Bedroom" in the blueprint of the house of 1970.

Kaiser used the bedroom to lure the Lurker, pretending to be asleep with Jennifer next to him. At 2:11 AM the creature comes out of the closet next to the bed, which slowly walks up to Kaiser making strange noises and is right next to him. After a few seconds, tears begin to fall on Kaiser, who quickly rises from bed, closing the closet and calling the other agents who first see the Lurker holding Jeniffer, an intense combat begins with the Lurker summoning "devoured forms" of 3 agents, but the agents manage to defeat the creatures without any casualties.

Half-Open Door[]

You start to push the door slowly, it’s heavy and suddenly, it stops, you feel it jamming leaving only a crack, and you see opening in the darkness one yellow eye, another yellow eye, another yellow eye, another, another, another, another, you see what looks like fifteen, twenty yellow eyes coming up and watching you...

GM

This room is not locked, but something does not let it be opened. The agents were able to take a picture through the crack and it was possible to see a bed, a table, a chair in front of the table and a chest of drawers. When one of the agents kicked the door, even with the door almost breaking, it came back with a voice saying "not yet".

After filling the cats' bowls with blood the door was released, revealing a normal room, but with a rope looking like a gallows, hanging, and on the chest of drawers there were 18 eyes of cats torn out, still with blood, and a page torn out, the page appeared to be from the diary of Vanessa Ângelo, that said about playing her part in the Deconjuration. The voices then say that now the agents know the truth about them, the children, and what happened to Vanessa Ângelo, and also say about a man who visited the house to investigate her past and ends up being inspired to write his book "The Lurker". Hugo recognizes this name and takes from his backpack a book called "The Lurker and other horror stories", by Daniel Hartmann.

Children Room[]

It is a children’s room with a purple wallpaper with clouds, a bed, a chest of drawers and a small closet, in the room has several children’s toys, such as Legos, building blocks, among others. There were also some boxes with drawings, a drawing of a sun, a bird and a symbol. After the team puts the right amount of the right lego colors in the right boxes, a letter saying the notebook password appears in a drawer.

Coffins' Room[]

You can see a room with a much thicker fog and a heavy air, it looks almost palpable, on the black walls and scratched has hanging chains, black candles to all sides and, in addition to the scratches on the floor, there are four large black coffins, imposing...

GM

The coffins' room is a room with a scratched floor, with black walls, full of chains and candles, drawing much attention for having four coffins in solid wood and noble black, each with an outline in one color. Three of them with a ritual symbol, a ritual of energy and knowledge, which was later revealed to be a Forced Haunt Ritual, chained with a kind of hexagonal lock, one of them is apparently without chains and without the symbol.

The agents opened the coffin with blue outline without chains, revealing a tape that was apparently floating, but that was over an invisible corpse holding a paper. The team hears the tape, where Salazar Lourenço talked about only exist when registered,[17] and reads the paper where it was written on the Polaroids Traveler, a monster that only shows up if a picture of it is taken. The agents took a photo of the coffin and for a few seconds it was possible to see the corpse of a man and the same symbol of the other coffins.

After fitting the yellow hexagonal piece, which they obtained after defeating the Traveler, in the lock of the coffin with yellow outline a weak yellow light appeared in the chains and they began to move quickly, allowing the coffin to be opened, revealing a corpse of an extremely rotten woman, in each of her eye cavities there were 20 "purifying incenses of knowledge", in her arms a diary with a leather cover, and in the region of her legs an old camera and a photo.

After fitting the red hexagonal piece, which they obtained after defeating the Lurker, in the lock of the coffin with red outline a faint red light appeared in the chains, repeating what happened to the other coffin, allowing the coffin to be opened, revealing a corpse of a woman, with a key in her mouth, inexplicably soaked and with an unbearable stench, which was present throughout the house.

After fitting the black hexagonal piece, which they obtained after defeating the the Lurker, in the lock of the coffin with white outline, a weak red light appeared in the chains, repeating what happened to the other coffins, allowing the coffin to be opened, revealing a corpse of a contorted man and covered by a black ooze, in his hands there was a Criptex.

2-Locks Room[]

You go through all this place that you spent so much time, suffering so many things, and you’re finally facing the final door, the last door that you didn’t open from this house...

GM

This room was locked with two locks, one black and one red, when the agents unlocked the two locks found themselves with a room of a teenager, with posters of rock bands and a diary[18] telling the stay of Frederico Mare. This room is not in the blueprint of the house of 1970.

Balcony[]

A simple balcony overlooking the pool and the street. The balcony is not present in the blueprint of the house of 1970.

Bathroom[]

It is a normal bathroom with a sink, a private, a shower and a bathtub. When the agents opened the door for the first time the bathroom was overflowing in red liquid, which tried to pull Joui, but Dante performed a Death ritual that caused the liquid to retreat.

Bedroom 2[]

It is a common room, next to the bathroom, slightly larger than the single room, has a single bed, a chest of drawers and a closet.

Room for paintings and sculptures[]

It is a common room, has a single bed, a table, a chair and a chest of drawers. The agents, after communicating with the four children, through Eduarda Flom, went to the room and broke one of the boards and there they found a gap, in this gap there are several statues in marble[6] from a same man and one of the pages torn from Vanessa Ângelo’s diary, talking about the Passage and her plans for the Vessel.

Room for special events[]

It is a common room, has a single bed, a table, a chair and a bookshelf with several books. The agents realized that the books are all occult and paranormal themes, but one stands out for already being open and having a ritual symbol that has been seen before in the St. Menefreda Orphanage, in the book says that such a symbol or similar was reported to be found in objects that allow communication with someone already deceased.

Later the agents return to the room to solve a mysterious passage in the diary found in the coffin with yellow outline in the coffin room, in the passage quoting to light the "purifying incenses of knowledge" in the center of the house, then went to the room and lit one of the incense, a mysterious yellow smoke appeared and guided them to the empty room, now transformed into the doll room. In the blueprint of the house of 1970, it's the center of the house and is named as "Room for special events".

Storage[]

It is a kind of storage, full of boxes, objects of change, some furniture and a very strong musty smell. The agents found a photo inside a stove, but this photo was completely black. It was later revealed that this photo was black because of a mysterious chemical reaction, which makes the photo only be revealed when exposed to heat, when the agents exposed the photo to heat was revealed the photo of cuneiform scriptures on an ancient stone.[19]
