Sacrifice is the seventeenth episode of Paranormal Order: Deconjuration. It aired on May 1, 2021.
Synopsis[]
The agents prepare for the last part of the investigation of the Devilish Mansion. But what they don’t expect is a price to pay at the end of the investigation.
Summary[]
Only one more room can be opened in the house, but before opening the door, Ivete and Dante arrive at the house, and they all go to get him, and they meet on the stairs, they explain about what happened, Ivete and Arthur talk a little about Dante, who was near a tree with a hole open in the ground, and after Arthur said it was the body of Beatrice that they had buried there, she says that the hole was open and empty, Ivete leaves the house, and Arthur explains the situation to the group, and Dante asks if Joui remembers of finding Elizabeth's body, after answering that they found nothing, they begin to theorize what they can do with the bodies. And they go straight to the door, they prepare, and Luciano talks to Kaiser kick the door, but when he turns the lock, he sees footprints, and they start following them, Joui, Arthur and Dante follow Luciano’s requests and go from behind, Kaiser, Erin, and Luciano arrive at the bathroom, and they wait, they open the door slowly, and see that the footprints go to the bathtub, after hearing a noise of someone humming and turning pages of a book, before Kaiser enters the room, Dante uses the paranormal vision ritual and begins to observe only the auras, first, he sees a silhouette walking towards the bathtub, and in the bathtub he sees another silhouette, a woman lying naked in the bathtub reading a book, and the silhouette of the footprints begins to drown the woman in the bathtub, and Dante sees her book falling, as the water continues to get redder, as if someone is bleeding heavily, the woman continues to have her head pushed on the edge of the bathtub, Dante asks Kaiser to pick up the book but without success, then, he himself approaches, but finds nothing, they leave the bathroom, and Kaiser has the idea to use his Feel Through Ritual on Dante, trying to make him see and feel what he is seeing, the ritual is a success and Dante begins to get used to seeing two visions at once.
The agents go to the door, Joui, who is last, sees a silhouette at the end of the corridor, he recognizes it and begins to get impatient. The group returns to the door with the two locks and try to use a red key to open it, but realize that this key is not the same size as the lock, however, when turning the black key, they see red footprints going to the bathroom again, the agents upon returning to the bathroom watch the tub water squirting disturbingly, Dante, suspecting something paranormal uses its third eye ritual, and thus, observes again a silhouette of a woman in the bathtub being drowned,[2] and rummaging, explaining to the water flying, but in a specific part of the ground the agents see a format of a book where the water did not remain there, always flowed to the corners. They start trying to solve the puzzle, wondering what would fit the invisible form, so they fit the diary of Vanessa, without success, they try the Little Witch's book in the format formed by water and blood on the floor, also without success, because the right book was from Daniel Hartmann, "The Lurker and other horror stories" that fits perfectly, the silhouette of the woman disappears in the bathtub, and the book opens in the story "The Drowned Woman". Dante, reading through Kaiser’s vision, reads the book.
In the book is described a behavior similar to the pipe and red water of the house, the group begins to discuss what they could do, decide to follow what the book said, close the register and turn on the taps, Erin remembers that on the first floor of the house there was a hydraulic log, Joui calls Kaiser to talk and asks him to perform the same ritual he used on Dante to see through Joui’s eyes, Kaiser marks the ritual symbol on it with a pen, fulfilling the request. Erin and Luciano start to look for and find in the lockers the water register, the agents then organize to go open the water sources, Joui starts talking to Arthur about doing a favor for him, and asks Arthur to carve with his knife the mark of the ritual that Kaiser did. A few moments pass and they open the taps and at the same time, a sucking sound, as if the house was screaming, all the pipes of the house seem to be shaking, and a little later they begin to hear a sound of water, and when Kaiser goes to the balcony, he sees the pool filled with blood.
After everyone leaves, they see the pool filling up, the noise is disturbing, and when it is almost overflowing, a silhouette begins to leave the pool, a monster, the Drowned Woman starts to form,[3] everyone gets ready, Arthur picks his weapon just like Dante, Kaiser uses his "Quick Draw" and manages to shoot first but misses the creature and Joui attacks the creature with the katana, the monster tries to hug Joui, who counterattacks, and after a few wasted shots, the monster gives two scratches at Joui, opening even more his chest that at a glance he gives a sword to her, that hurts her, it is possible to notice that Joui is not worrying much about his protection.
A time of battle passes and Luciano approaches the edge of the overflowing pool to take a shot, he succeeds, but by staying near the pool the blood pulls him in, he holds for now, another time of the fight passes and Dante makes the Rupture ritual doing a good damage to the creature, Luciano can not hold on anymore and begins to be drowned, the creature embraces Kaiser which makes it harder to hit the creature, by that time the creature is already weaker, but still holding, and drowning Kaiser, Erin in an attempt to protect Joui pushes him, and the monster trying to attack Erin, hits a strong claw in her stomach, passing her out, Arthur throws himself at the monster in an attempt to protect his friends, Joui retreats Erin intending not to be harmed anymore, but Dante, going to heal her, stumbles and falls on top of her. As Arthur begins to be drowned by the Drowned Woman, and in all this chaos, Dante heals Erin who was already waking up.
The creature already damaged, desperately begins to throw itself in Arthur almost disintegrating, with half of the body, but he gives a shot that kills the creature that was entering in him, to a little later, vomit a key that was inside the creature. They begin to pull themselves together, and after they realize the key, Joui hears a few more whispers.
Now ready, they go to the last door of the house, Kaiser opens slowly and sees a room, full of posters of metal bands, and in the corner of the room there is a cone, a skateboard and a guitar.[4] While searching the room, they find a diary of a person named Frederico Mare, from the diary falls a paper, similar to the papers left by Anthony in the Orphanage written "Hatred". Kaiser searches for information about Fred, and discovers that he spent most of his life in an asylum, but that he returned to normal society a few years ago, also finding his current address. They decide to go to the address found, and in the room, Arthur sees a guitar with some strings torn, and when he turns it finds a symbol carved in the back of the guitar, and feels that it is transcendent. Joui, Kaiser and Dante talk about doing the ritual that Arthur carved in Joui, but Kaiser realizes that there are flaws in the design of the symbol, then fixes the flaws and decides not to do the ritual. Joui thinks about smoking a cigarette with his friend, who realizes he is out of cigarettes and begins to have an anxiety attack. Both them have a deep talk about being a hero, and eventually everyone goes to the van.
They arrive at Frederico Mare's current address, and they go to the Apartment 42, they call for Fred and he opens the door, a man with shaved hair, with giant dark circles, who lets them enter this totally messy apartment.[5] Dante after analyzing it talking about the house, realizes that it is clearly something that psychologists told him to repeat, talking more with Fred, he says he met Daniel Hartmann when he went to investigate, and use Frederico as inspiration for one of his short stories. Fred begins to tell his memories to the agents of the Order. His parents had a bad relationship, and after a creative block from his father, adopted another son. An unmissable opportunity magically arose to buy a mansion for a very low price, and they bought the mansion, after a few days, a man in a suit, Álvaro Augusto, presented himself to the Mare family, being especially interested in Leonardo Gomes, the child the parents had adopted. One day, in the middle of the night, Fred woke up with a noise and saw a man in a suit holding a book and coming out of his parents' room, the man saw him and opened the book, showing him a strange symbol. After that his father Heitor started acting weird, got obsessed with a song and spent days away from home, didn’t eat right, drank a lot and beat Fred. Meanwhile, the same man, Álvaro frequented the house more and more, this neighbor was the same man who showed him the strange symbol. Frederico later revealed that Álvaro had an affair with his mother, Fátima.
Strange things happened in the house, Fred took the blame for all and got beat for it. Until he saw his neighbor Álvaro doing a kind of "macabre magic" with Leonardo, using the book with the strange symbol. After a while things got out of control and Leonardo seemed to have turned something else, had changed his way of acting, but close to the parents still looked like a cute child. Until one day Fred saw Leonardo and a friend, Anthony, bringing dead cats home and making a mess. When Fátima came home and saw everything dirty, punished Fred in an exaggerated way, who spent a lot of time bleeding.
Frederico was consuming by hatred, was angry at everything his parents did, he just needed a spark to lose control, this spark can be represented by Leonardo and Álvaro himself putting disturbing ideas in his head, but the last straw was a mysterious ritual performed possibly by Anthony. The ritual consumed the mind of Fred who drowned Fátima, his mother, in a bathtub when showering and when Heitor arrives home, he pulls strings from his guitar and uses it to hang him and behead him. Then it seems that he was transported in time, to a place that looked like a pyramid, a great hall with strange things written on all sides, with the statue of a man and a symbol on the floor. The man in the suit takes off his clothes and texts appear all over his body, and says that Fred was the perfect source of Fear for the Deconjuration, Fred witnesses a bizarre ritual,[6] and Leonardo's body transforms.
Fernando questions about Kian to Fred, that says that "Kian knows", and tries to get more information, but he doesn’t know what Kian knows. They go to the van, tired and hungry, and talk a little about the situation, Kaiser calls to the Order's base, and Letícia answers, after a brief conversation the agent says that Mia has new and accurate documents to show them.
The team goes to the cemetery where Elizabeth Webber and Thiago Fritz were buried. They have a conversation before they get to the cemetery. Upon arriving, they talk in a sad mood, with Joui crying at Elizabeth’s grave, apologizing and when Kaiser questions him, he gives his backpack and his bow to Kaiser[7] while holding a mask on his hand. The shadows distort and get bigger, and the Sect of the Masks reveals themselves emerging from the shadows, as if they were appearing from the air, saying it’s time for Joui to fulfill his part of the agreement, from the moment he puts on the mask, it’s the end of himself. Dante punches him hard, they keep arguing. The friends say goodbye and then Joui puts on the mask[8], losing control of himself and disappear in the shadows with the other maskeds. Joui Jouki lost his personality, becoming another mask, choosing to leave Ordo Realitas and everyone.

Trivia[]
- This is the first episode of Deconjuration where there’s a different version of the credits. This time, the eight protagonists appear and disappear one at a time, with Joui being the last and being replaced by the Sect of the Masks symbol. During the credits, there is also a song composed and sung by the musician Matheus VPS, composer of other songs made in honor of the characters of the universe.[17]
- This is the first and only episode that Cellbit shouts to present the episode. This happened because of a joke that arose among the players who asked him to shout the presentation of the sessions, or as dictated by the spectators, the "A very good night".
- The episode's name, "Sacrifice", was chosen by Luba himself, after being questioned by Cellbit in the end if he wanted to put a specific name on it.[18]
