It's irony of fate... It's really a Divine Comedy.
Divine Comedy is the fifteenth episode of Paranormal Order: Deconjuration. It aired on April 17, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Back to the base after the horrors suffered in the mansion, the team divides their time between medical treatments and honors. But when Dante tests his new ritual, he starts to see Beatrice's dilemma from a new way.
Summary[]
Everyone is tired after the fight against The Lurker. With Kaiser passed out from tiredness and the finding of a symbol marked on Arthur's back, the team begins to debate about returning to the Ordo Realitas Base.
Joui wakes Arthur up and asks him about the symbol tattooed on him. He is incredulous and says he did not put any symbol on him. Luciano pulls out his cell phone and takes a picture of the symbol on Arthur’s back and shows him the photo. He is worried about being watched and closes his eyes. Still exhausted from the battle, Kaiser wakes up and notices something gleaming in the Lurker’s skin. Approaching the monster, he finds a paper with a symbol, a doll’s head and two hexagonal discs, just like the one used to open one of the coffins in the next room. Joui asks Kaiser about the findings, but he faints again before he can answer. Joui carries Kaiser, Erin carries Ivete, and Luciano helps Arthur get back to the van. Luciano returns to fetch the pizzas brought by Ivete, and strangely, one of the boxes is open with a piece of peperroni pizza missing. Erin uses the vulture's van parts to fix the van’s engine. Inside, Arthur, Dante, Erin, Ivete, Joui, Kaiser, Luciano and Beatrice's Existed on the way, Luciano offers Erin one of the cheese breads brought by Ivete, which leaves her shaken by the memory of Tristan.
At front of the Ape Hangers, Kaiser apologizes to Joui for yelling at him during the discussion earlier. Dante looks for Agatha to debate Beatrice's question, but doesn't find her in the Rituals room. Kaiser and Joui arrive in the medical ward, where Marcela questions Joui about how he is alive, even with a shot through his chest. Marcela and Renan begin the treatment of the wounded. Arthur, Luciano and Dante discuss what to do with Beatrice for now and suggest maybe leave her protected in the cells of the Order. Arthur goes to Mr. Verity's office, where he meets Chizue Akechi and Paulo Machado on the room. They explain that Verity is missing and ask for a report of the last mission. Arthur tells of Tristan’s death, and upon leaving, he hears Chizue crying and hugging Paulo. Erin arrives in the medical ward, and talks to Kaiser and Renan a little about G-Force, but mostly communicates everyone about a tribute to Tristan that she would like to do. Renan is shocked by the news and talks to Ivete and Marcela, who are also shaken. Erin approaches Joui and vents to him about their losses. Erin cries and is comforted by Joui in a hug. Arthur is helped by Marcela, and Ivete talks to Arthur and falls into the bed of the ward, completely exhausted. Marcela talks with Arthur about how she joined the Order, referencing the events of the first season with her son, Mathew Geleerd, and telling how she met Tristan. Luciano and Dante go to the main hall and Kaiser goes up to the bar and begins to train his shots. Joui is in the ward with a neutral expression, showing himself disconnected from reality. Kaiser hears a voice talking that everyone is listening to the shots, and looking back he sees Clarissa Leão, that after talking a little, she talks about the death of Tristan who was her best friend. Luciano talks to Marcela, and looks at Beatrice, who became an Existed. Dante calls Kaiser to help him do the Mind Reader ritual in Beatrice, the hacker accepts, but before he goes to talk to Arthur. He arrives talking in a strange way, forcing a smile, which makes Arthur worry about him. Kaiser goes to the hall to help Dante. Arthur talks to Joui about Kaiser’s weirdness and comments on something he will help Dante do, which causes Joui to go to the hall as well, followed by Arthur. Dante begins to draw the ritual, and begins to read Beatrice’s mind, which begins to shine. Then he begins to hear very loud noises, reaching the unbearable. He begins to cry and put his hand in his ears, such pain. Dante realizes that the noises are actually cries of agony, voices repeating their names and telling horror stories. In the middle of the screams, he hears Beatrice’s voice. She begins to shout phrases like:
My name is Beatrice. Beatrice. Remember me. Beatrice. I was marked. I was marked. To know all is to lose all. To know all is to lose all. Beatrice. I lost the mark. I lost the mark. Beatrice. I lost everything. Remember me. Look at me. Beatrice. Don't leave. Keep looking at me. Look at me. I need to exist. Look at me. Look at me. Beatrice. Look at me. Look at me. LOOK AT ME. LOOK AT ME!
Beatrice Portinari[2]
The intensity of the voices and reality inside Beatrice’s head makes Dante faint. He is taken to Marcela, who realizes his rapid heartbeat. She is extremely worried, but slowly realizes that he is recovering.
Joui and Arthur leave Beatrice in the cell, and go talk to Kaiser because he’s acting strange. Luciano also goes after the hacker while Erin goes to the table where the others are. Luciano then returns the Polaroid from the violet drawing to the Kaiser, who is embarrassed. Arthur begins to call people to Tristan’s memorial, breaking the news to Samuel, who is completely discredited that just he came to pass away. He is so shaken that he decides to stay in the research room. Going to the office, Arthur calls the veteran agents, but Chizue, very nervous and concentrated, is undecided to participate, but eventually Paulo convinces her.
Erin begins the homage by singing one of Tristan’s favorite songs. When she finishes singing she sees Clarissa falling into tears trying to go unnoticed in the corner of the hall, without success. Erin gives an emotional speech and receives a collective hug from the group. Clarissa approaches, revealing the origin of her friend’s jacket. She reveals that the jacket was from Verity, and the old man would have given it to him on her and Tristan’s first mission. She says the jacket is the representation of the deceased veteran and symbolizes the essence of sacrificing for friends. Clarissa states that as long as his spirit is alive, the Order would be alive. Chizue approaches the group and converses a little. Kaiser, trying to socialize, suggests playing truco, and everyone agrees, to his surprise. They go upstairs and Arthur starts making drinks at the bar. Joui heads to the ward and waits for Dante to wake up. The occultist begins to become somewhat conscious saying that Beatrice is locked and death is her only freedom. Arthur makes a cinnamon whisky for Erin, and Kaiser goes down to call Joui. He converses a little with him, but soon after Kaiser goes up alone. Joui begins to talk to Dante, who, when he begins to open his eyes, can not see anything. Joui perceives the pupils of the occultist’s eyes totally white.
Dante, realizing he was blind, despairs and gives a very strong punch to Joui, who does not give up and threatens to give a rear naked choke to try to calm him, successfully. Joui runs to the bar and calls Arthur to open the cells, and soon the two go running. Luciano starts talking to Erin about how he remembered the things that happened with Fernando, and when he says that, Fernando appears, claiming that he does not remember anything. Dante and Joui talk a little and enter the cell where Beatrice was imprisoned, Dante talks about taking her to the orphanage, and they decide to go.
Erin and Fernando arrive, and go towards the van, meanwhile, Kaiser begins to transcend with the doll head, and learns the Feel Through Ritual, that after drawing the symbol on a target and putting another symbol on himself, he can listen and see what his target sees and hears for five minutes. This is the same ritual that was marked in Arthur’s back. They find Kaiser and everyone goes to the orphanage, upon arriving, Dante guides them to a large tree on top of a hill, and gives an emotional speech, from his memories, remembering that he and Beatrice always stayed in that place. There, he read The Divine Comedy to Beatrice, that always always listened to while braiding the boy’s hair. He, along with Joui’s help, gives a final shot of mercy to Beatrice’s head, erasing her for good and finally letting her rest after her torture since she turned into an Existed.
They bury Beatrice’s body and Dante talks about the irony of not seeing how much she was suffering, and now he sees nothing more, being a real divine comedy.
The team covers the grave, and one last time Gaspar recites the Divine Comedy to his sister, Lilian, and they all sleep a little in the van. When he finishes speaking the passage of Beatrice along with Dante to paradise, he falls and sleeps in the tree. Kaiser and Joui talk a little off about the hacker’s new ritual, and he gives the Lurker's page to the Asian. The agents notice Dante asleep and wake him up, and soon all depart back to the base of the Order, with Fernando driving the van.
At a certain point, Joui picks up his backpack, goes down a street and follows his way to a school where he teaches gymnastics to children. He announces that he will not be able to teach for a long time and that he will leave a friend in charge of them. They, now without Joui, arrive at the base of the order, Arthur calls Dante to sleep in his house, and Kaiser heads to the research room, looking for information about Anthony, discovering that the occultist has the surname Scelto. He researches about this surname, finding an elderly couple, Nestor Scelto and Graça Scelto, who would have been dead for over fifteen years. He tries to research about Bruno too, but doesn't find anything he doesn’t know about his ex-best friend. Dante, with the help of Erin and Arthur, goes to transcend, but he cannot see the symbol and therefore does not feel it. However, when he bends down and gropes at the symbol, he manages to concentrate and transcend. Erin also transcends and feels stronger. Dante and Arthur go to Dante’s apartment, which picks up some clothes and an old copy of the book The Divine Comedy, and then they go to the dwelling of Arthur, Ivete and Kaiser. They bathe, brush their teeth and later sleep.
Upon waking, Dante asks Arthur for the paints and, in the book, draws the symbols and paints them forming a kind of Grimoire. Fernando asks for a Cooler, and goes to a crack house, but when he gets there, and he recognizes some people, he starts to cry a lot, and he runs to his house. In the end, everyone on the team is coming back to the Order's base to continue their mission on the Devilish Mansion.

- This episode is the first on Deconjuration in a series, where the cover image is a scene that did not occur in the session. In this case, we see Erin Parker working on her grenades, a fact that occurs long before the then current events.
