Photographs is the tenth episode of Paranormal Order: Deconjuration. It aired on March 13, 2021.
Synopsis[]
The team continues to investigate the mysterious Devilish Mansion after a terrible event. And every step they take, more and more mysteries arise around everything.
Summary[]
Fear is clearly stamped on the faces of the three agents on the second floor. The blood around the invisible creature dissipates, while Tristan's headless body keeps pouring blood on the floor. Erin, by witnessing the brutal death of her longtime teammate, ends up developing a permanent trauma with smiles getting completely frozen, with her hands on her face, while Joui ends up being temporarily traumatized with a sequence of consecutive scares for 6 hours. Beatrice, being the only one not to freeze with death, runs in a nervous impulse towards the body, trying to gather the remains of what was left of her companion. She notices that the top of his head is missing, and remembers that it was in the monster’s hand and disappeared along with it.
In that, Fernando and Dante arrive on the second floor, not knowing what happened. When seeing the brutal scene of one of his best friends dead, it is at the exact moment: Fernando switches and Luciano wakes up. With this scene, the military develops an uncontrollable shaking, but temporary. Just as he arrives at Beatrice, Tristan’s body begins to be lifted by one of his legs and dragged away. The florist tries to grab the body, but Luciano and Dante hold her, advising everyone to flee the scene. Joui follows the same idea and shouts for everyone to leave the house. Before they escape, Beatrice takes Tristan’s jacket and descends with the group to the floor below, finding Arthur rather confused and Kaiser wide-eyed with a cigarette in his mouth. Out of nowhere, Joui screams once again, telling everyone to leave the house and slapping the hacker’s cigarette, which takes a scare. He picks up his photos again and realizes that they are empty faces again, before leaving with the group.
When they arrive outside, the moment of the team is mourning: Erin and Beatrice mourn the veteran’s death, while Luciano and Dante try to comfort them. Arthur questions what happened, not understanding anything, while Kaiser takes another cigarette. Beatrice asks if Dante can do something to help them, and the occultist replies that the most he can do is ensure everyone’s safety. Upon hearing this, Joui begins to laugh desperately. His sound laughter is followed by a cry of anger, saying that nowhere is safe and that they are pathetic and useless. Luciano asks everyone to get in the van so they can leave the place. Kaiser stands still, halfway through the cigarette, looking up, while Joui stands on his knees laughing desperately. The military and Dante try to rush their comrades, but when Luciano tries to start the van, it does not work. Opening the hood, he notices that several strands of various parts of the vehicle have been cut, which leaves them trapped at the site. Erin, desperate, tries to see if she can fix something, even though she knows that nothing will be useful.
Meanwhile, Beatrice searches Tristan’s jacket, finding an inner pocket containing a notebook. Upon opening, she finds several notes from the veteran, as pick-up lines to her, compliments to Kaiser and Arthur, a note to not forget Erin’s birthday, and some procedures he intended to do during the mansion investigation. Inside the notebook, she also finds a folded paper with a note saying "Our first mission!". Turning the paper, she finds an old photo of youngers Tristan, Clarissa Leão and Mr. Verity. The group finally tells Arthur and Kaiser what happened upstairs, wondering why the creature didn't continue to pursue them after killing Tristan. They then split up to try to find some way to get out of the place, with Luciano comforting Erin about her friend’s death, Joui and Beatrice having a light discussion about feelings after seeing a loved one killed in front, Kaiser looking again at his photos and Arthur and Dante going to the next house. The last duo rings the doorbell of the house in front of the mansion and is welcomed by a boy named Tim and his older sister Eduarda. Noticing the gun in Arthur’s holster, the girl quickly closes the door.
Meanwhile, Luciano asks Beatrice if he can keep Tristan’s jacket, and she asks to stay with it for a while. He then decides to go to another house next door, talking to an old lady named Graça and her puppy Estrela. He asks her to go call the police, and she enters the house for this. Returning to the group, they continue talking and reading Tristan’s notebook notes, Joui realizes that they will have to enter the house anyway. He has a slight argument with Dante, while beside them, Kaiser looks again at the photos, trying to remember the names of his teammates. Luciano remembers that they have guns, and asks the lady to not call the police, lying that they have already solved the problem. Dante and Joui go to a corner to discuss a little about how the Japanese could behave as a leader to the group, while Arthur joins Kaiser. The guitarist is surprised by Kaiser saying he can’t remember him, even trying. He calls Joui to verify the situation, and the Japanese tries to comfort the hacker, who says that somehow he knows he can trust both of them. Joui resumes his conversation with Beatrice, giving a calm in the florist and telling his feeling with the death of Elizabeth. At the same time, Arthur realizes: Kaiser has only memories of Tristan, Dante and Erin because they are not present in his photos. The two ask Dante to see if there is anything paranormal in the photos, and the occultist with his Third Eye Ritual confirms this. Joui decides to try to burn one of the photos (the photo where he and Arthur are present), but even deleting, it has no effect on Kaiser. At that moment, Arthur feels he is being watched, and when he looks at the second floor window, he can see the yellow eye of two pupils. Kaiser says he can also see the eye, confirming that the two can see. The hacker theorizes that perhaps the same creature of the eye is also responsible for the photos and the dripping. Joui, wishing to return to investigate further, asks Kaiser to accompany him. The group discusses who should enter the mansion, with Kaiser taking action, remembering his friend Thiago and opening the door, entering the house. Arthur, Joui, and Dante follow him, while Erin, Luciano, and Beatrice stand outside. Luciano takes advantage and draws the symbol of his ritual in Tristan’s notebook.
The four enter the mansion, which now around 10:00 PM, is really dark. Walking ahead, they notice a red light sticking out in the background. And as they turn the corner, they come across a room already visited, emanating a red light. They discover it to be a room for revealing photographs, with many scattered photos of faceless people. In the sink they find various liquid photo-developing process and an audio tape. With a previously acquired recorder, they play the tape and hear a man talking about people coming out of the middle of the forest and invading the house, and how the police didn't want to investigate this situation. The man says he plans to put a camera with motion sensor to be able to take a picture. Joui asks the group outside to look for a camera in the surroundings, but without success. Erin, who was listening to everything, says she heard her grandmother’s voice during the conversation. Meanwhile, the group from inside the house goes to the second floor, seeing again the scene where Tristan had been killed. Kaiser gives the idea of breaking down a door, but the rest of the group thinks it’s not the best option. Walking a little further, they enter another room, where they find a picture of the mansion, with a note saying "House 27, 1970". They then enter a room with a double bed and search the place. Dante heads to the wardrobe to search, but he notices that there is a crack in the wardrobe door. A crack where a yellow eye of two pupils observes him, along with a dripping sound. He goes into shock, turns his gaze to Joui and then looks back into the crack, only to find nothing else. Joui tries to open the wardrobe too, but finds nothing. They keep digging until they find a paper with an ad for the condo they’re in. Dante decides to add the phone number to syndic Sidney's cell phone contact list that he has, but discovers that the number was already registered, having the name of the contact as Front Real Estate Copmany, the same real estate of the building that the team investigated previously.
Leaving the double bedroom, they go to the first door on the left, but it is locked, going to the right, Joui opens another door and this jams, leaving a gap, and in this crack the eye appears, making the gymnast freeze seeing several eyes, at least fifteen. Kaiser also sees the eyes and closes the door and soon after when the eyes disappear he decides to take a picture of the room and sees, a bed, a table with papers, but when he tries to see what was jamming, he feels a wind through his hand almost taking the cell phone away from him and in a quick movement he manages to pick up the cell phone in the air. Joui gives a very strong kick in the door, almost breaking it, just as if there was a wind it comes back, a voice appears and says “it's not the time yet”, they keep walking and arrive at a door with scratches underneath, but it’s locked. Following, they see a door with two locks and another door leading to the balcony. They go to the door that would lead to the bathroom, but as soon as Joui opens the door, he's pulled by a red liquid, everyone tries to pull him, but it is Dante who manages to save him using the Rupture Ritual, tearing the fingers and disintegrating the liquid that releases Joui, letting him out.
After this scare they continue and enter another room, where Kaiser finds keys on the chest of drawers, they follow in the hallway and enter a room where there is another tape and they play an audio, being the same man from the other tapes. But now he talks about the rumors of the house being haunted, they also find a roll of film to reveal, and a book of photographs, discovering as well as how to reveal the photos. They follow to the corridor where Tristan died and see that Tristan’s blood ends mysteriously on the ceiling, Joui gives an arrow to the ceiling for precaution, but without result, Dante crushes a little chalk and throws on the ceiling, the chalk spreads enough and they see nothing. After that they decide to enter the room and see a room with several books, all of them about the paranormal, they also find an open book, in a page that talks about a ritual to talk to dead people.
Dante tries to look for some information about this theme of the book, but has nothing else, Joui goes back to the hallway and Dante picks up Tristan’s gun that was on the floor. With the key that Kaiser found, they open a room that looked like a warehouse, the hacker finds the laptop charger and after a conversation about calling more people to help them, they find more books, and more photography stuff, most of the books are old, being before 1970. Turning an old stove, they seek something in the oven, and Dante finds something resembling a photo, but it is completely black, the occultist feels that this photo has something paranormal.
Talking on the wire, Erin decides not to get in and stay in the van, and Arthur stays out along with her, Luciano and Beatrice join the group and everyone goes to the photo room. Kaiser and Dante manage to reveal the photo, and see that it is the shaky photo that the man spoke on the first tape they found. They, after revealing the photo, go to charge the notebook, soon realizing that it would take time for the device to charge. Then they decide to look for the room where that photo was taken, looking first on the second floor and, noticing the silhouette in the window, they go down to the first floor.
Dante and Beatrice go to the deposit of the house and Beatrice realizes that the place where they were and the place in the photo were very similar, the florist warns Dante and he then goes looking for where would be the hidden camera that the man of the tapes had left according to his own lines on the tapes. Kaiser comments to Joui that at the very moment the invisible creature appeared, his photos had deformed with the strange smiles and as soon as the creature was gone the same photos, they returned to normal, theorizing that the photos are probably some kind of alarm for the monster’s arrival, and Joui agrees, telling Erin everything on the wire. Dante finds a loose brick under the counter, and when he rips it off he sees the hidden camera that the man in the tapes had quoted along with a photo of a crack, where it is noted on it “1:12 - 2:11”, and another undisclosed photo, then he goes straight to the room to develop photos while Beatrice goes to warn Kaiser, Joui and Luciano that they were in the hallway about what they had found in the warehouse, and soon the four head to the room to reveal photos.
Dante comments with the others as he reveals the photo about the time written in the photo of the crack, saying that there are 30 minutes left for them to arrive at this time, and when the photo is revealed he sees three men, but one is highlighted, being Virgílio, or Kian. Dante shows the photo to the group and Kaiser sees on his phone that it is 1:20 in the morning, meaning that the first time of the photo passed and nothing happened, Dante runs to the warehouse to see if there was something or someone in the window but finds nothing, Kaiser sees his photos but also sees nothing different, the five head to the top floor but Kaiser soon remembers the notebook and everyone goes down again.
Kaiser notices that the notebook is already charged, the device asks for a password and the username is Heitor M., with the photo of a guitar, the hacker theorizes about the password being in the music room, where there were guitars, so as soon as Luciano, Dante and Beatrice were going to the music room, Joui hears a sound echoing in the hallways and scared, alerts the group, Kaiser looks again at his photos, but there is nothing different and Dante realizes that the photo of the crack resembles the walls of the hallway, he calls Joui to go with him and before they go Kaiser asks the two to take any photo that is faceless in the photo room, in case the creature appears, it would appear a face in the photo they took, he gives each of his photos to Beatrice and Luciano and gets one, then Dante and Joui go to the photo room, taking a photo and going to look for the crack.
It’s 2:00 in the morning, Dante and Joui keep looking for the crack in some wall and it’s Joui who finds it. The two realize that the crack seems to be on the opposite side of the deposit but when they go there, there is nothing on the walls, only in the corridor. Joui thinks of kicking the crack to see if something happens but hesitates, then Dante uses a ritual to destroy the wall, managing to disintegrate it a bit, but not to the point of actually destroying it. Joui takes the grenade that Erin had given him and puts it on the wall to blow it up, he manages to blow it up and a big hole opens.
Joui and Dante see the inside of the house with buried remains, Beatrice, Luciano and Kaiser run up to them upon hearing the blast noise from the other side of the house, and they find another audio tape along with the remains of someone in that place. When listening to the tape they think of exposing the photos to heat to reveal them and then the quintet there argues about burning with a lighter or a flashlight, but soon what they decide is to burn with a lighter.
Kaiser then takes the photo totally black, turns on his lighter and begins to approach the photo, but soon he begins to tremble and he has a strange feeling, he drops the lighter and takes again his photo, it is with the same macabre smile the other time. He warns the group telling everyone to hide, everyone runs but Joui and Kaiser stay. Joui remains inside the room, hiding in some stones that had fallen when he blew up the wall while Kaiser hides under the table of another room, and while Dante, Luciano and Beatrice were leaving the house, the door closes. Erin, who was outside with Arthur, tries to open it for them to leave, but to no avail.
Steps can be heard in the corridors, Dante squeezes a chalk and throws it in the direction where the sounds of footsteps were coming and runs in the opposite direction, Beatrice hides on the sofa of the room, Erin and Arthur stay inside the van and Luciano tries to break the window to leave, He makes noise in the process, but he can't open it. He then shoots at the window, managing now to break it, but when he was leaving, he feels something strange, and soon Luciano begins to be levitated by the invisible creature. He tries to jump out the window but is pulled by the leg and ends up beating his mouth in the floor and hurting himself, Beatrice sees this scene happening and leaves her hiding place screaming for help while she pulls out her crossbow, Joui hears her cries and leaves his hiding place heading towards the room while Luciano continues to be dragged, Dante also hears and breaks the window of the room where he was and soon leaves the outside of the house, going towards the room where everything was happening, the creature turns Luciano abruptly, he is held by the shoulders and he begins to have several flashbacks of moments of his life, and soon he feels that the creature dropped him, they hear strong steps as if there was someone running and Joui is pushed by this creature, and now they don’t hear anything anymore and the photos are back to normal.
Dante appears at the window asking if Beatrice is okay and Kaiser leaves his hideout, meeting Joui in the hallway. The two head to the room and Luciano gets up with a wound in his mouth from the knock on the window, but has his wounds healed by a ritual done by Joui. Kaiser goes to the music room in search of a clue to the notebook’s password and searches the instruments of the room, finding the body of a doll with a symbol inside a guitar and her head inside the piano room, he goes to the notebook room trying to bruteforce the password but he fails and goes back to the rest of the group. Once again, he takes the photo totally black, turns on his lighter and begins to approach the photo, which is revealed to be one of a picture of Sumerian cuneiform writings and one being a statue of Leonardo Gomes, they hear one more child’s laugh and then arrive at a room with black candles everywhere and four coffins, three of them chained and locked and another released, and the episode ends.
