Cursed Items are artifacts imbued with intense paranormal energy, stemming from their deep connection to the Other Side. These items often possess uncommon powers, granting abilities or advantages to their bearers and users. First seen in The Secret in the Forest, in the form of the Holy Cradle Crystals, and further developed in Paranormal Order: Deconjuration, they are extremely rare and highly coveted by both isolated occultists and organizations with knowledge of the paranormal, such as Ordo Realitas or the Escribes.
Despite their great power and value, cursed items are rarely found. Currently, the Order keeps some of these items in their arsenal, available only to high-ranking agents or those proven worthy of such responsibility. These items are released with great caution due to the risks associated with their curses and the negative impact they can have on the bearer or user. Once an agent accepts a cursed item, its influence persists, even from a distance, and can only be ended after a period of detachment, usually between missions.
Some cursed items store Rituals within them. To acquire these, one must hold the item, enter the Transcend symbol, and connect with the Other Side, thus learning the Ritual in question.
Many cursed items appear common at first glance, while others reveal their paranormal nature through visible characteristics such as glowing Sigils, strange sounds, or anomalous movements. Some of these items may have inscriptions or marks indicating their powers, but others can be completely enigmatic, requiring a certain level of Occultism knowledge to be identified, though some can be discovered through experimentation.
Starting with The Secret in the Island, when the Paranormal Order RPG Playbook was partially developed, cursed items began to impose a specific cost for their curse: the constant (and cumulative) loss of Sanity whenever the bearer failed Attribute checks related to their Element. Thus, the curses are currently divided into five main categories:
- Knowledge: Whenever the bearer fails an Intellect-based check, they lose 2 Sanity Points per Knowledge curse.
- Energy: Whenever the bearer fails an Agility-based check, they lose 2 Sanity Points per Energy curse.
- Death: Whenever the bearer fails a Presence-based check, they lose 2 Sanity Points per Death curse.
- Blood: Whenever the bearer fails a Strength or Vigor-based check, they lose 2 Sanity Points per Blood curse.
- Fear: A Fear curse imposes a variable price, which may change depending on the bearer.
This page presents a complete list of all cursed items appearing in the Paranormal Order universe, organized by their appearance order. For each item, information is provided about its appearance, associated Element, effects, known users/bearers, and a brief description of its appearances in the series.

It was Nubi's plush toy, who, at some point, had its head torn from its body. Nubi was one of the ones responsible for the torture and subsequent death of Nina, which turned her into a Degolified, haunting the east wing of the second floor of the St. Menefreda Orphanage.[30] When the D-Force encountered the creature, they had to solve her Enigma of Fear to defeat her, which involved finding the two parts of Nubi's favorite plush toy, reuniting them, and giving it to the Degolified Nina, who wanted it for herself as "revenge". The stone contains a compartment that can be opened, revealing two locks of hair inside, belonging to Jasmin Cristal and Beatrice Portinari.
After Beatrice, one of the most important people to Dante, became an Existed, the occultist fell into complete despair and denial. Trying to comfort her and convince himself that everything would be fine, he ended up cutting a lock of his adoptive sister's hair and placing it inside his locket, along with part of the hair of Jasmin, his deceased beloved.[58] By doing so, Dante began to feel a powerful paranormal aura from the accessory, having, with his own suffering, cursed the locket with a Knowledge Ritual.[59] Shortly after, Dante Transcends using the item.[60]

As extremely powerful weapons, they were used by the Escribe to carry out the Deconjuration Order in "Kian", torturing and physically manipulating the bodies of the agents and Bruno.[102] In Calamity, Gal continued to use them as a pair until, in "Revenge", one of them was taken by Joui, who never used it. Shown only in "Revealing the Deconjuration", this dagger would be the "reward" if the protagonists managed to solve the chapel's puzzle in "Escribes".[107][108] If used to cut oneself, the item reveals a specific scene: the moment when Arnaldo Fritz became The Host.[109][110]
- Element: Fear
- Bearer: None known
- Effect: When slicing oneself with the blade, the bearer experiences a flashback of a specific moment forgotten by Reality but remembered by the Other Side.
Calamity[]
Throne[]

Illustration of the Throne in the Paranormal Order RPG Playbook
- Main page: Relics of Calamity Ā§ Relic of Blood
A solid and robust structure, shaped like a throne. Its surroundings are consumed by carnage, monstrosities, and obsession.[111]
This item has not yet appeared physically. Its only appearance in the series was in an illustration found in one of the pages of the Diary of God, in "The Beginning of the End".[112] As for the Relic itself, it is known only that it can choose to force itself onto its next bearer if it decides they are "worthy" to be its "heir".[113]
Lancinating Axe[]
A heavily ornamented halberd-like axe. At the end of its long handle is a carved panther head. Its curved blade is marked by veins that seem to run along the metal like cracks filled with a dark liquid resembling coagulated blood.
This is Balu's axe, which belonged to his brother. It was cursed after the agent struck a blow on The Devil's shoulder, who "gifted" him with this curse.[114] The item remains in his possession to this day.
- Element: Blood
- Bearer: Balu
- Effect: When hitting a target, the weapon inflicts deep wounds, dealing +1d6 Blood Damage.
Fan of Fatality[]
A simple fan made of dark opaque fabric and black spokes. It is completely destroyed and torn; in what little remains of its appearance, the kanji ę» (death) and the symbol of the Deadly Speed Ritual can be seen on the fabric.
It was one of Rana's fans, which, after her death, was cursed with one of her known Rituals. In "Pact", Dante found it in the refrigerator of the Leone's Mansion, after it was left behind by the Mutilated Zombie, who had been disintegrated by the occultist.[115] It was then taken by him, and the next day, studied with Agatha, together discovering its properties.[116] However, until now, no member of the Team Vultures has used it to Transcend.
- Element: Death
- User: None known
- Effect: Allows the user, upon Transcending with the object, to learn the Deadly Speed Ritual.
Elemental Protection Amulets[]
Protective accessories that vary in appearance.
They first appeared in "Amphitheatrum". Several of these amulets were in the weapons room of the Leone's Mansion, each having different Elements associated.[117] Each member of the Team Vultures had the option to improve one of their weapons or take one of these items. Balu chose to take a buckle that granted protection from Blood,[118] Rubens took a necklace with a pendant, also of Blood,[119] and Dante took a ring of the same Element as his teammates.[120] The three amulets remain in the agents's possession to this day.
- Element: Varies
- Bearers: Balu, Rubens Naluti and Dante
- Effect: Grants the bearer Resistance to Damage 5 against a specific Element.
Relic of Energy[]

Current form of the Relic of Energy
- Main page: Relics of Calamity Ā§ Relic of Energy
An ethereal, non-solid form, like a lightning bolt or an endless flame, always in constant motion and transformation.
The Relic of Energy does not have a unique physical form due to its chaotic and unpredictable nature, transforming from bearer to bearer.[121] In its first appearance, during the events of "Ordo Calamitas", at the base of Ordo Calamitas in AD 67, it manifested as what had once been a metallic cube, but at that moment, was just a bright figure, emitting a kind of blinding purple energy, with a distorted aura around it.[122]
The Relic was stored in its own room when, suddenly, the members of Ordo Calamitas were cornered by The God of Death into the same room.[123] Feeling drawn to its presence, they formed a circle around the item.[124] The Relic began to change shape constantly until it chose Gaius as its bearer, transforming him into Amphitruo.[125]
During that historical period, after leaving Gaius, the Relic passed through other bearers, whose circumstances of encounter are unknown. The most notable were Aeneas, Liber, Silenus and Plautus.
In 2009, the Relic manifested again, this time for Arnaldo Fritz, in the form of his pocket watch, as revealed in "Games".[126] The next day, it was used in an attempt to stop Kian, transforming Arnaldo into The Host eand causing the fire at the St. Menefreda Orphanage.[127]
In "Choice", after Joui landed the final blow on The Host, his katana began bearing the Relic of Energy.[128] Currently, without a bearer, the item is in the possession of Ordo Realitas.
- Element: Energy
- Bearers: Gaius/Amphitruo, Aeneas, Liber, Silenus, Plautus and Arnaldo Fritz
- Effect: Transforms its bearer into The Host.
Sanguineous Dagger[]
A dagger that appears to be made of flesh and bone, with bizarre veins covering its surface. It moves slightly, as if alive.
It was found by T-Bag among several rusty weapons in the arsenal of Domus Aurea in "Betrayal".[129] The item remained in his possession until his death, when it was reduced to ashes along with his corpse.[130]
- Element: Blood
- Bearer: T-Bag
- Effect: In addition to its normal damage, it deals +1d6 Blood Damage when hitting a target.
Rusty Axe[]
A rusty axe affected by Blood.
In "Betrayal", it was found and collected by Artemis in the arsenal of Domus Aurea.[131] The item was never used by her and, a few hours later, it was Unexisted by Kian, along with her corpse.[132]
- Element: Blood
- Bearer: Artemis Deordelin Rodrigues
- Effect: In addition to its normal damage, it deals +1d6 Blood Damage when hitting a target.
Bloody Helm[]
An ancient Roman metallic helmet, visibly rusted, affected by Blood.
It was found by Damir in the arsenal of Domus Aurea in "Betrayal".[133] He quickly placed it on his brother, Boris, to protect him.[134] Boris wore the item until his death when Kian exploded his head, destroying the helmet in the process.[135]
- Element: Blood
- Bearer: Boris Lukic
- Effect: Grants the bearer Resistance to Blood Damage 5.
Shinokage[]
A long black-bladed katana with golden Knowledge Sigils engraved along its surface, emitting an intense glow. The Sigils translate to "Shinokage" ('Shadow of Death). The katanas handle is wrapped in black with golden details following the blade's pattern, and its square guard has a simple finish. A small golden tassel hangs from the bottom of the handle.
It was created by The Magistrate, using her ability to Rewrite Reality, and given to Joui[136] after his katana became the Relic of Energy in "Choice".[128] Joui then used the new weapon until his death. After that, the item was taken by Arthur, who kept it with him.[137]
- Element: Knowledge
- Bearers: Joui Jouki and Arthur Cervero
- Effect: In addition to its normal damage, it deals +1d8 Knowledge Damage when hitting a target.
Spiral Skull[]
A completely aged, decayed skull twisted into a spiral shape. Ooze drips from its empty eyes like black tears.
In "Synthesis", it was pulled by Dante from within the Death Mirror in the Ordo Calamitas Ruins.[138] Shortly after, the item was handed to Arthur,[139] and later in "Time", used by him during the battle against the Sphinx Carrion, disintegrating shortly afterward.[140]
- Element: Death
- User: Arthur Cervero
- Effect: When wielded and consumed, it grants its user one additional standard action for the rest of the scene.
Arnaldo's Watch[]
A golden pocket watch, slightly tarnished and with a slightly burnt appearance on the exterior. When opened, a photo of a bearded man wearing glasses a smiling child, also holding a golden pocket watch, can be seen.
This watch, once belonging to Arnaldo Fritz, was found by Rubens inside the Energy Mirror in the Ordo Calamitas Ruins, in "Synthesis".[141] The item has remained in his possession since then.
- Element: Energy
- Bearer: Rubens Naluti
- Effect: The bearer can, at any time, spend 1 Effort Point to reroll any die that rolled a 1.
Pulsing Heart[]
A human heart completely drenched in blood, pulsing as if still inside a body.
It was taken by Arthur in "Synthesis", from within the Blood Mirror in the Ordo Calamitas Ruins.[142] The agent never used it, and during the battle against Kian in "Eyes", he handed the item to Rubens,[143] who used it shortly after.[144] Rubens never returned the object, so it remains in his possession.
- Element: Blood
- Bearers: Arthur Cervero and Rubens Naluti
- Effect: Once per scene, the bearer can use a reaction and spend 2 Effort Points to squeeze the item and halve any damage received.
Lion's Fist[]
A left boxing glove in cyan-blue color. On the front, there's a metal plate with the inscription "LEONE" engraved in large black letters.
This glove belonged to Enzo Leone, and after his death in "Revenge", it was taken by Gal[145] and gifted to Dagan,[146] who used it until his death, thus becoming a cursed item. In "Synthesis", the object was found and taken by Carina,[147] who immediately sensed something paranormal about it.[148] Upon the return of the Order to Brazil in "Eyes", the glove was handed to Dante for study.[149]
- Element: Unknown
- Bearers: Carina Leone and Dante
- Effect: Unknown.
Eye of Injustice[]
A completely white eye with a cut mark.
One of Gal's eyes. In "Choice", Clarissa ripped it out of its socket and threw it on the ground while torturing the occultist.[150] Later, in "Synthesis", it was taken by Balu, who sensed its paranormal nature, and handed it to Dante,[151] who studied its properties upon their return to Brazil in "Eyes".[152]
Anachronic Cane[]
A completely blackened cane. Its handle features a golden sculpted jackal head.
It was Nubi's cane. In "Time", after her death, Balu, noticing the item was paranormal, collected it.[153] It's unknown whether the item was already cursed before or became cursed after the occultist's death.
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Balu
- Effect: Unknown.
Dark Restriction[]

Kian restrained by the Dark Restriction
A small black and gold ring with a white stone at its center that appears to warp reality around it. Small golden chains adorn the ring, connecting to it. Inside, Sigils from the Other Side are engraved.
Under Marc Menet's orders, Yuki and Dominic collected and transported the Dark Restriction, stored in a black sealed box, to the Leone's Mansion, as mentioned in "Time".[154] In haste, Arthur grabbed the object and took it to The Colosseum, where the battle against Kian was unfolding. In "Eyes", the Scoundrel arrived with the box,[155] which was opened by Dante.[156] The ring was removed from the box by the occultist, and after several attempts to place it on one of Kian's fingers, the agents finally succeeded once the Realizer of the Calamity was rendered unconscious.[157]
Immediately, the item activated. The white stone of the ring began to emit an invisible white flame, while the object expanded around Kian's hand. Chains emerged from the ring, and golden bands slid across his body, resembling small golden leaves that began to root throughout his physical structure. It formed a vest in real time, not to protect him but to contain him.
In Kian's hands, a massive black and gold piece formed with the Other Side symbol, binding his arms in a crossed position, forming an "X." His face was covered with a black and gold visor, while golden bands marked with sigils wrapped around the back of his head.
After Kian was imprisoned in a special cell at the Order base, the Dark Restriction continued to act. The chains that wrapped around his body expanded, anchoring themselves to the cell walls. The cell door changed appearance on its own, now displaying a large symbol of the Other Side, as well as the floor beneath Kian, where he is suspended.[158]
- Element: Fear
- Bearer: Kian
- Effect: Completely and paranormally contains its bearer.
The Secret in the Island[]
Consolata[]
A very old arquebus, reminiscent of the 15th century, which, somehow, remains in great condition despite the cracks covering its entire surface that emit a faint pinkish glow from within. The body of the weapon is adorned with intricate golden carvings, standing out against the sturdy wooden base. At the back, there's a small gem embedded, the same color as the fissures. On the handle, a seal bearing the letter "M" is engraved.
Ćngelo Amadeu Moretti's "faithful companion", according to him.[159] This weapon once belonged to the patriarch of the Moretti Family and was stored by him in a locked leather suitcase, hoping it would be found and taken by one of his descendants. Unexpectedly, in "Prosopagnosia", Amelie found the suitcase under the bed in Constantino's bedroom, on the 3rd floor of the Moretti's Mansion.[160] Wanderley, opening the case with the key he had found earlier inside the piano,[161] came across the Moretti arquebus.[162] Immediately recognizing it as a cursed object,[163] the agent, despite knowing its harmful effects, took it because of its utility, accepting its curse.[164] In "Florence", during the battle against the Imaginary Friend, as his final act in life, Wanderley threw the weapon to Milo.[165] However, the boy was killed shortly after, never managing to retrieve the item. Most likely, after the end of The Secret in the Island, the Order collected the object to integrate it into its arsenal.
- Element: Energy
- Bearers: Ćngelo Amadeu Moretti and Wanderley Nascimento de Jesus Maria
- Effect: Whenever this weapon is fired, its damage, purely of Energy, is decided by chance, ranging from 1d6+1d4 to 1d20+1d12.[166]
Signals from the Other Side[]
Alien Rifles[]
Weapons with a highly technological appearance, predominantly metallic in dark green tones. Their designs feature several circular details and engravings emitting a greenish glow, standing out along the objects. The structures of the barrels are reinforced by multiple metal strips wrapped around the weapons. On their top parts, there's a kind of integrated technological device that serves as a sight. Additionally, the items fire green energy projectiles, similar to lasers. These weapons can vary between pistols, shotguns, and rifles.
These are the Doppelgangers's weapons, used only when they feel threatened or contradicted. They were seen being used in "Chosen", when these Aliens wanted Dara to leave the Magal's house to answer the Outsider's call.[167] They were also used in "TV Varminho", by the Doppelgangers from the TV Varminho's Tower.[168]
- Element: Energy
- Bearers: Doppelgangers
- Effect: They fire pure Energy projectiles, negating the need for ammunition, and causing damage of that Element.
Chaotic Skateboard[]
A skateboard with a predominantly yellow base. It features metal details on the edges, reinforcing its structure, and its wheels are red, attached to silver axles. At the center of its deck, there's the logo of The Five, and the word "OCCULT" can be seen just above. What stands out the most, however, are several green lightning-like cracks running across its underside, resembling pure energy. Multiple Signals from the Other Side can also be noticed, translating to "Consciousness", "Occult", "Mind" and "Defense". Occasionally, the skateboard trembles, vibrates, or moves slightly.
Xande's skateboard. It's unclear when exactly it became cursed, but its abnormality was noticed by the occultist in "The Four", when Arnaldo Fritz requested to examine it after noticing its peculiar nature.[169] According to Arnaldo, the skateboard contained a sort of "chaotic consciousness".[170]
- Element: Energy
- Bearer: Xande
- Effect: Having some sort of "life of its own," the skateboard helps its bearer dodge attacks, granting a +5 bonus to Defense.
Severed Finger[]
A dry, skeletal, and rotting severed finger with Ooze dripping from it. It occasionally moves in a stiff and tortuous manner.
It was one of the cursed objects brought by Arnaldo at Calisto's request to The Five in "The Four".[171] It is known to have been one of the fingers of someone with a high level of paranormal exposure. The item was given to Guizo, who binded himself to its curse.[172]
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Guizo
- Effect: The bearer receives one Death Paranormal Power that the owner of the finger possessed. So far, the Power gained is unknown.
Divination Bands[]
A long black fabric band with small spirals engraved along its edges.
It was the second cursed object presented by Arnaldo to The Five in "The Four".[173] As soon as its functionality was explained, Guizo immediately took the item.[174]
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Guizo
- Effect: Distorts the bearer's perception of time, allowing them to see events outside the timeline and making them far more aware of nearby things but oblivious to distant ones. The bearer receives +10 Defense and a +10 bonus on resistance checks against effects within 12 meters.[175]
Nimble Sneakers[]
A pair of black sneakers with white details, such as the sole and laces, designed for skateboarding. They have burn marks all over their surface, and around the shoes, there are violet neon cables wrapped and coiled, emitting a bright glow.
The third item gifted by Arnaldo Fritz in "The Four".[176] Before Arnaldo could even explain its properties, Xande took possession of the pair of sneakers.[177]
- Element: Energy
- Bearer: Xande
- Effect: Amplifies the bearer's mobility, making them faster, more resistant to falls, and allowing them to climb more easily.
Glimpse of the End[]
A pair of dark sunglasses with spirals on their metal frame and round lenses.
It was brought by Arnaldo Fritz to The Five in "The Four",[178] and specifically given to Xande.[179] According to Arnaldo, the bearer should not look at a person while wearing the glasses, only at creatures, otherwise, they would go completely insane.[180] Xande never got the chance to look through the lenses of the item.
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Xande
- Effect: When the bearer looks at a creature or a Marked through the lenses, their greatest weaknesses and vulnerabilities are revealed. When looking at a normal person, they see a countdown until their death, which can change based on the actions of a Marked.[181]
Mental Shield Jewels[]
A shiny golden piercing and earring adorned with Sigils of Knowledge along their length.
Some of the last cursed items delivered by Arnaldo in "The Four".[182] Chico quickly took an interest in them and claimed them for himself.[183] MLater, he put on the earring and had Guizo help him apply the piercing on his tongue.[184]
- Element: Knowledge
- Bearer: Chico
- Effect: They generate a psychic barrier around the bearer's mind, granting them 10 Mental Resistance.
Neural Connection Keyboard[]
A white USB keyboard covered in glyphs of the Energy symbol glowing in purple, on each of its keys.
It was the last of the items given by Arnaldo to The Five in "The Four".[185] It was taken by Chico,[186] who used the object several times.
- Element: Energy
- Bearer: Chico
- Effect: When connected to a device, the keyboard generates electromagnetic waves that send system signals directly to the bearer's brain synapses, effectively connecting their mind to the machine and granting them a +10 bonus on all Technology checks while connected.
Fury Larva[]
A slimy Blood larva, about fifteen centimeters long, with long teeth.
This consumable cursed item belonged to Morato, though it's unknown how or when it was obtained. In "Transmission", it was shown to LĆrio,[187] who nicknamed the item "Pepperoni".[188] Later, it was used by the leader of The Five in a failed attempt to face the Outsider.[189]
- Element: Blood
- User: Morato Vertaler
- Effect: Unknown. It is only known that when consumed, it causes the user to become completely enraged.
Quarantine[]
Inverted Ring[]
A black ring with red details; it has the shape of Nidere's body in its structure.
It was being stored by Panacea Industries as one of the Nidere artifacts under study.[190] In "Final Part", it was found by Jeffrey in the meeting room of Igneus Station,[191] who immediately felt the ring was paranormal,[192] and put it on. Upon doing so, the item latched onto his finger, cutting him and causing a drop of blood to fall.[193] At that moment, the Nidere's reversed howl could be heard faintly in the distance.[194] Jeffrey felt connected to the creature, as if chosen by it, experiencing a chill and losing 2 Determination Points.[195]
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Jeffrey Bacon
- Effect: Unknown. However, it is known that if Jeffrey was caught by Nidere, something would happen to the ring, which would serve as a distraction for him to escape.[196]
Mortal Load[]
Ooze of Death[]
A viscous, dark, and putrid-looking ooze.
Present in the pre-made mission Mortal Load, from the Paranormal Cases, the Ooze of Death is a dangerous substance stored in copper jars. These jars were created over 3,000 years ago by "sorcerers" from northern Africa to imprison "shadow creatures." They were smuggled into Brazil by a group of European smugglers and eventually reached the Cult of Eternal Night. The cultists were using the Ooze contained in these jars to turn volunteers into Ooze creatures, creating a personal army. It's important to note that despite its similarity to the Ooze, the physical manifestation of the Element of Death in Reality, the two are different things.
- Element: Death
- Users: Smugglers from the Port of Santos and Cultists of Eternal Night
- Effect: If ingested, the Ooze consumes the user's life, turning them into a Ooze Skeleton.
Eternal Night Scepter[]
A darkened silver scepter with a spiral at its tip.
Included in the pre-made mission Mortal Load, from the Paranormal Cases, this is an artifact used by the leader of the Cult of Eternal Night, the Moon Priest, to control the creatures created by the Ooze of Death.
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Moon Priest
- Effect: Grants its bearer the ability to control or, at least, direct Ooze Skeletons.
Surviving the Horror[]
Hourglass of Death[]
A small hourglass filled with ashes. Its top is shaped like a skull with a spiral on its forehead.
An indestructible cursed item carried by Memento Mori, used to measure the remaining lifespan of its target, which is determined the moment the creature appears in Reality. There are myths about a Ritual capable of destroying the hourglass, but as far as is known, no consistent information exists on this.
- Element: Death
- Bearer: Memento Mori
- Effect: Allows the bearer, by spending a standard action, 2 Effort Points, and 2 Sanity Points, to learn the name of the being tied to the sand in the hourglass and the estimated remaining time of that person's life.
