Clara

Clara was an Escribe and former agent of Ordo Realitas, who got involved with the Escribes to try to reverse the state in which her daughter Beatrice Portinari was.

Clara first appeared in the 5th episode of Deconjuration, being seen in one of the rooms of the St. Menefreda Orphanage by D-Force. After allying with D-Force along with Bruno in the 18th episode, she was stabbed to death by Henri in the Blue Condominium, on Canadense.

Appearance

Clara was a fair-skinned, dark-haired woman, and like other Escribes, her eyes became whitish due to her blindness. She wore a long brown robe and walked barefoot. She also had several Escribes' tattoos on her body.

Biography

Past

According to Beatrice’s investigations during her suppressed memoirs, Clara was an agent of Ordo Realitas. She was a friend of Arnaldo Fritz and adopted the young girl just before the fire of the St. Menefreda Orphanage and the supposed death of her mentor and friend. After the procedures that Gal and Leonardo Gomes performed on Beatrice upon her return to the Orphanage, Clara devoted her life to suppressing whatever they freed within her daughter, going so far as to become a Escribe.

Beatrice’s last memory of her mother is she being desperate in a ritual while accompanied by a blonde man with a serious look, later identified as Leonardo Gomes. This appearance fit those who are possessed by Kian, also presenting writings tattooed by the body and yellow eyes.

Deconjuration

While exploring the Orphanage, Orpheu begins to stir when arriving near the ward and as soon as the door is opened it quickly enters and lands on the shoulder of a woman wearing a tunic with tattoos taking care of an injured Existed. Beatrice recognizes her as her mother, and she asks her to not approach. As she approaches, she squeezes something in her hand and disappears in an energy flash, using a ritual. When questioned, she claims that this woman was her mother only with a different appearance than she remembered.

At November 6, Clara accompanies the Escribes to the Blue Condominium, in Canadense, to perform a ritual called "Passage". Clara arrives to help a team of Order agents, formed by Kaiser, Arthur, Dante, Erin and Luciano, using a healing ritual to heal their wounds after fighting Enpap-X. Beatrice’s mother explains to the agents that she only joined the Escribes to save her daughter, who had become an existed after hearing Kian’s "secret". Henri, who was unconscious after being attacked by Bruno, suddenly wakes up and stabs Clara five times, who falls dead on the floor.

Rituals

Change Memory Ritual: Beatrice had 11 years of her memories erased by Clara, creating a barrier that prevented her from remembering while Orpheu remained alive. With its death, the barrier broke and she remembered everything, which caused her to connect completely with the Other Side and cease to exist.

Teleport Ritual: Clara possessed a Teleport Ritual that was used when Beatrice approached her and also when she received the signal from Bruno to help the Order agents after the fight against Enpap-X. At the Orphanage she was seen giving a sad smile, closing her hands on something and then turning from the core out a glow and disappearing in mid-air. Some purple and blue sparks were seen at the site of her disappearance.

Unknown Ritual: After the fight against Enpap-X, Clara manifested and helped treat the wounds of the agents through a powerful unknown ritual that quickly improved even their most severe injuries.
