The bell! The secret! The secret! Hear the call! Hear the call! The secret must be kept! The secret must be kept!
Celestino Vurtoren[1]

He first appeared in the 1st episode of The Secret in the Island, trying to catch Olivier Florence when he woke him up while trying to analyze a painting of the lighthouse.[2]
Celestino, during the 5th episode of The Secret in the Island, is found with Lívia in the Moretti's Mansion, in a completely disturbed and animalistic state. During a clash, Celestine brutally murders Lívia tearing her neck in front of her daughter, Bárbara Lima, who enters a state of fury and stabs Celestino to death.[3]
Appearance[]
Celestino was an old man, light-skinned, blue eyes with pupils in different sizes, and gray hair and beard. He wore a black leather jacket, a brown vest worn over a black blouse and a pair of black boots.

During the 5th episode of The Secret in the Island, Celestino is seen at the Moretti's Mansion with a disturbing appearance, with desperate brown eyes, which tremble and vibrate, with the pupils in different sizes and with tears flowing uncontrollably. He also had veins coming out of the inside of his eyes and invading his entire face, in addition to having his mouth dirty with blood.[4]
Personality[]
Celestinpo acted harsh when interacting with other people, constantly talking about a bell and "hearing the call" to keep a big secret, as if he were disturbed by some past event and tried to communicate it to other close individuals.
In the 5th episode of The Secret in the Island, Celestino is seen behaving aggressively, being violent towards everyone around him and attacking them with enormous force.
Biography[]
Past[]
Celestino is an indirect descendant of the Moretti Family, brother of Roberto Vurtoren and son of William Vurtoren, the hitherto guardian of the secrets of Tipora.
In mid-1962, the three faced the arrival of Constantino Moretti in the island, searching for a mysterious paint. After the installation of Constantino on the island and the construction of the Moretti's Mansion, Celestino's father, by knowing the descendence of the new visitors decides to share the Secret of the Island with him. Later, his family was presented by Constantino with a painting depicting the image of a Lighthouse. As a child, Celestino liked the painter very much and visited the mansion next to his brother, occasionally breaking one of the statues present in the Entrance Hall.
At an unknown time, after the death of his father, Willian, Celestino became the lightkeeper of Tipora, being responsible for keeping the secrets and protecting the veil of that place, in addition to keep the Lightkeeper Tradition.
However, after the corruption of his family to the effect of the painting accidentally caused by Constantino, Celestino spends much of his life suffering from the abstinence caused by it, remaining predominantly in the lighthouse and satisfying his need by being exposed to the painting and constantly smoking the substance, not interacting with the island’s residents.
The Secret in the Island[]
Day 1[]
Upon the arrival of the new visitors, Celestino is seen sleeping in his room by Amelie Florence and Olivier Florence who went to bring a lunch box, but he is awakened in the process and goes on top of Olivier, shouting about the need to keep the secret. Subsequently, he is soothed by his nephew, Adrian Vurtoren.
Day 2[]
The next day, Celestino is seen at the Church Barbecue, appearing alone saying he is alone without his father and talking about Constantino, calling him "Uncle Constantino". After being reassured by Adrian, everyone wonders about never having seen the lightkeeper so far from the lighthouse.
On the way back, he says something about a secret that can only be said once a day, and about not following the noises of the night.
Day 3[]
On the afternoon of the third day, Celestino is seen sleeping in his room by Bárbara Lima and Milo Castello who went to bring a lunch box to him, but in the process he is awakened, but doesn't notice the presence of visitors in his room, where they sneak out of the place.
Day 4[]
There is no information about Celestino’s condition, but it is noted that with the weakening of the veil on the island, the level of his abstinence from the paint rose, causing him to hunt and take the animals to his room to satiate his will to feel flesh, slowly turning into a beastly creature.
Day 5[]
During the next day, due to the weakening of the veil after the death of Cavalcante Bueno, the paint has become more powerful with a more aggravating effect to users. Soon, Celestino went crazy and turned into a beastly creature by being constantly in extreme contact with the substance. Because of this, with his transformation, it ended up generating the infection of the Tipora.
Seeking to satiate his withdrawal, he goes towards the Moretti's Mansion seeking to satisfy this feeling. Once there, he comes across Lívia and murders her by brutally tearing her neck with his claws. Subsequently, Bárbara, with a fishwife, kills him by stabbing him several times on the stairs in a fit of rage.
Quirks and Phobias[]
Paint Addiction: Celestino has an obsession with the paint used by Constantino Moretti to paint his paintings.
