I’m the best real estate analyst you’ll ever meet!

Cavalcante Bueno[2]

Cavalcante Bueno was an Ordo Realitas agent, who boarded the same boat as the Florence Family with destination to Tipora Island. He was disguised as a real estate agent from the Front Real Estate Company, saying that he was hired to conduct an evaluation in the Moretti's Mansion, so that it would be auctioned some time later.[3]

Cavalcante first appeared in the 1st episode of The Secret in the Island, being seen watching the sea at the bow of the boat. During the two days he stayed in Tipora, he was carefully analyzing the mansion for paranormal manifestations. However, the day he was supposed to leave, he was missing, with his briefcase on his bed. Hours later, Milo Castello and Olivier Florence found his corpse leaning against some stones of the beach, with his face completely open.[4]

Appearance[]

Cavalcante was a young, fair-skinned man with brown hair, mustache and goatee. He wore a bluish black vest over a blue gray shirt and a red tie. He was usually seen wearing a black hat with a brown strap and black pants, with a pair of boots of the same color.

Personality[]

Cavalcante was a relatively outgoing man when he was around other people, but he spent most of his time working and analyzing the environment around him. It was also remarkable that he used his lip to extract as much information as possible about the situations that were presented, so that he had communication skills that he applied in the exercise of his real estate agent disguise.

Biography[]

Pasto[]

Coming from the northeast of Brazil,[5] Cavalcante has his past as a mystery, only knowing that he was an agent of Ordo Realitas and who was investigating a place known as the Enchanted Lake, in the region of Bahia. There, he met Wanderley Nascimento, a local tour guide. He asked Wanderley to show the site, which was known for many disappearances and occurred that the lake water turned red. When the two arrived at the lake, the water instantly turned red, and coming out of it, a totally bizarre creature made of blood emerged. Many people died at the scene, but Cavalcante, along with a team of agents, could neutralize the creature, being observed by Wanderley, who did not do much for being in shock. It is implied that some time later, Cavalcante presented the Order to Wanderley, who accepted the invitation.

The Secret in the Island[]

Day 1[]

Disguised as a real estate agent hired to analyze the mansion of Constantino Moretti, a mysterious painter that lived in Tipora Island until disappearing without a trace, Cavalcante travels to the mysterious island on the coast of Espirito Santo in an old boat, accompanied by Montel Florence, who had also been hired to analyze and evaluate the works of art left behind in the mansion, taking his family with him. After a brief series of complications with Adrian Vurtoren's boat, Cavalcante arrives at Tipora, where he would present himself for the rest of Montel’s family: Angelina, Olivier and Amelie Florence.

After some time, two residents of the island, Bárbara Lima and Milo Castello, arrive at the beach to welcome the new visitors and end up volunteering to carry the Florence’s suitcases and guide them to the mansion through the island’s forest. During the crossing, Cavalcante, along with the others, is attacked by a wild boar, that catches him off guard and advances into his leg, hurting him badly. After frightening the animal and arriving at the Moretti's Mansion, where the group would stay, all are faced with a completely abandoned environment, covered with paintings on the walls, but elegant and luxurious. Cavalcante would go to his room and stay there until dinner time, eating and returning to rest the day.

During the day, Cavalcante stealthily used his Veil Stability Tester to check the state of the Paranormal at the site, noting in his diary that the island’s veil appeared to be in an almost perfect state, without any risk of serious influence from the Other Side on that place. In addition, the agent was able to locate the secret key panel of the mansion through ancient plants he had found before the mission, and noted that Constantino’s paintings appeared to have some kind of paranormal effect, causing extremely potent hallucinogenic effects in those who observed them. In the middle of the night, Cavalcante heard screams coming from the hall next to his room, and as he ran to check what was happening, he came across Amelie Florence going crazy after contemplating the Phantom Bride's painting, and her friends around trying to calm her down. Cavalcante considered revealing his identity to calm the young girl, but her brother, Olivier Florence, managed to save his sister before it was necessary.

Day 2[]

During the night, Cavalcante managed to find a way to go up to the third floor of the mansion, finding the bodies of Emério and Leila Lima and several completely melted painting. However, amid the melted canvases, the agent was able to find a virtually intact painting of a bride playing piano, and after contemplating it, hid it in his room in the mansion.

At dawn, Cavalcante wakes up and spends the day analyzing the internal and external parts of the mansion, being seen briefly in the outside of the place. Later, he meets the Florence along with Milo and Barbara in the village during the Church Barbecue, maintaining his outgoing personality, being curious and walking together with the residents of the mansion.

At the end of the celebration, he returned with the others going to his room in the mansion again. During the night, he noted in his diary two abnormal experiences he had had during the day; the first was during the Church Barbecue, when the lightkeeper Celestino He interrupted the meal while acting as if he were a child, asking where his father was and questioning if he was with "Uncle Constantino". Upon checking the lighthouse where Celestine lived, Cavalcante discovered that the old lightkeeper seemed to scrape the paint off the painting near his bed, and use it on his cigars to feel the intense feelings it offered. The second abnormal situation was with Barnabé Aleno, the island's merchant. During the day, Cavalcante removed his hat and vest because of the heat, and when talking to Barnabé for the second time, noticed that the man did not seem to recognize him, again asking his name and if he was new on the island, as if the merchant did not remember his face and recognized him only by his clothes. In addition, Cavalcante noted that Barnabé seemed smarter and wiser than the other residents of the island overall, asking if the agent had found a way to access the third floor of the mansion, such as a key or something.

Day 3[]

During the early hours of the third day, Cavalcante noted in his diary that the island’s veil was still stable, also detailing the emergency tracker he had implanted in his Veil Stability Tester. He also wrote that he was feeling extremely nauseous after the barbecue, believing there was something wrong with the boar he had eaten. After finishing his notes, Cavalcante heard noises in the hall of the mansion, and as he left his room, he came across Montel Florence observing the painting of the Phantom Bride. While trying to get him away from the painting, Montel told him that he needed to see that painting and that he needed to go on the third floor of the mansion to retrieve the most important thing he had lost. As Cavalcante had the key, he decided to go up with the analyst, hoping perhaps to find out more answers about the location. However, as the two walked, Cavalcante began to feel even more nauseous, propping himself on the wall so eagerly. However, amid the nausea and sickness, Cavalcante turned his gaze back, seeing Barnabé Aleno going up the stairs of the third floor and coming towards him, knocking him to the ground and injecting a liquid that slowly kills him.

In the afternoon, Milo and Olivier, looking for Amora, went to the beach, realizing that Cavalcante’s hat was thrown there. After approaching, they face a traumatizing scene: the real estate agent’s corpse leaning against some stones, his face completely open, along with a painting depicting the scene exactly as it was, with one exception; a bizarre creature, similar to a black figure, staring at the agent’s corpse.

Trivia[]
