Carpazinha is a small fictional municipality in the interior of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located in a rural region, with little internet and cell phone signal, in addition to few residents. After the case of Rafael Montes goes to the federal police, this ends up drawing the attention of the Ordo Realitas, which sends its agents to solve this case, leading to the events of The Secret in the Forest .[1]

History[]

The town was founded as Pequena Carpa many years before The Secret in the Forest. In 1915, the Dr. Verruckt flees from Austria and creates the Pequena Carpa Sanatorium, which lasted until 1950, the year in which it was abandoned after the death of all employees and patients at the hands of a paranormal creature.[2][3] During those years at the sanatorium, in 1918, a man named Virgulino Batista arrested and tortured his wife and daughter in their home. The citizens discover this and lynch the man, burying him alive in his own backyard.[4] During the 1980s, the town's name is changed to Carpazinha for an unknown reason.[5]

At the end of 2019, the events of research by scientists for the creation of Project Holy Cradle took place, and with the end of this project, many people began to disappear from the city.[6] It is later discovered that the disappearances were related to people moving to a secretly neighboring small village called Holy Cradle.[7] In 2020, the case about Rafael Montes and his family caught the attention of the Ordo Realitas, which ended up sending the Team Kelvin, as that the team already knew the symbol marked on the victim's forehead. They arrive in town and just send a initial report before their mysterious disappearance.[1] A month after that, a new team is sent, composed of agents Cristopher Cohen, Cesar Oliveira, Elizabeth Webber, Joui Jouki and Thiago Fritz.
