Thiago Elias, better known as Calango, is a streamer and content creator.
He played Cesar "Kaiser" Cohen in The Secret in the Forest and Paranormal Order: Deconjuration. He also played Miguel Cariad in the episode "Wellspring" of The Secret in the Forest. He returns in Paranormal Order: Calamity, playing a new character, Antônio "Balu" Pontevedra, as well as playing Faustus during the season.
Characters[]
- Cesar Cohen/Kaiser (TSIF and POD): Cesar was a slender man, with a hunched spine, shoulder-length hair, and 30 years old. Besides being a paranormal researcher, he was a professional programmer, being very agile in matters related to computer science and very intelligent in general. He was more concerned with himself, introverted, and with a complicated relationship with his father and teammate, Cristopher Cohen. He was usually a bit rude and somewhat sarcastic, making many doubt his age. After the death of his father, Cesar began to show maturity and more empathy, showing himself more serious and sentimental with his friends. During the case he developed cryophobia, fear of the cold. At the end of the Carpazinha case, he became a full-time agent of Ordo Realitas, where he created S.I.R.C, a system for detecting paranormal irregularities. He died at the end of the third season in a battle against Gal and Kian, where he sacrificed himself to save his partners, shortly after the occultist launched a Unexist Ritual on the hacker, who failed to resist and disappeared into thin air, no longer existing.
- Miguel Cariad (TSIF): Miguel was a very tall and strong man, at the time with 30 years, short hair and brown. He was part of the paranormal research group Team Kelvin with Mariana Larona and Kenan Thomas, being one of the best investigators of the time Order of Truth. During an investigation into Carpazinha, he discovered a secret community, the Holy Cradle, which led him to betray his team and take over as leader of the Lusidii. As the Blacksmith, he was played by game master Cellbit.
- Antônio Pontevedra/Balu (POC): Antony is a tall man of relatively well-defined physical bearing. He has dark hair combed back, and a mustache with a small goatee that does not fully reach his chin. Antonio is a retired former agent of Ordo Realitas, who had been away for about five years and only returned at the request of Mr. Verity.
- Faustus (POC): Faustus was a strong man, and one of the Ordo Calamitas members of the ancient Rome. Faustus was very serious, even in moments of festivity, differing greatly from his partners, and never participated in friendly conversations and always acted formally, especially in relation to his superiors. Faustus also had a strong belief, since he always carried a necklace with a cross, which was wrapped around the handle of his sword. He ended up dying during one of The Host’s games at the 6th episode, having his body taken by Balu, who chose to let Faustus non-exist, just sitting embracing his sword, and thus losing his existence.
Trivia[]
- Calango has had different ways of saying goodbye at the end of the RPG episodes.
- That started after the tenth episode of The Secret in the Forest, where Calango bids farewell saying "tomar no cu", keeping this habit until the end of the season.
- In Deconjuration, Calango proceeds to bid farewell through "'Murilin", a child character invented by him who he sometimes plays in his streams.[1] This remains until the hiatus of the season. On the return, Calango often bids farewell, using an extremely burst sound of fireworks or rockets that he releases through his soundboard.
- Posteriorly in Calamity, in the first two episodes he says goodbye by simulating the sound of fireworks with his mouth; then he goes on to say goodbye by making a small paper airplane during the final considerations of the episodes and throwing it into the air.
- Calango has his mark tattooed in his calf.[2]
- Calango recorded a music playing as Balu. The music is "You'll be in my heart" from the film Tarzan, and the record plays in the end of the 10th episode of Calamity.
- Cellbit makes a mention of Calango in the Paranormal Order universe at the end of the 12th episode of Calamity. At the funeral of Cesar, the young man Hugo appears on the scene and mentions about the G-Force comics, a reference to a RPG held by Calango in the past. The little one shows for Arthur Cervero the magazine number 1, signed by Thiago Ouvias, the creator of the comic series, making a clear tribute to the real name of Calango, Thiago Elias.
- Calango plays Balu in a non-canonical adventure in the Paranormal Order universe, during the second participation of Cellbit in the Balela Podcast, held by Della.
- With the exception of Faustus, his characters have very similar scars on their faces, with Kaiser (after a grenade) and Miguel (after the treason) having large scars burned on the left, while Balu has one on the right.
