You can call this Destiny, you can call this God, you can call this Fear... Names don't matter, Kian, and that's why I abandoned mine.

Warrior is the eleventh episode of Paranormal Order: Calamity. It aired on November 20, 2021.

Synopsis[]

The war has begun. While Ordo Realitas cross fire with the Escribes, Joui, Carina and Dante head to the center of The Colosseum to fight Kian and his markeds.

Summary[]

With the agents of Ordo Realitas, the markeds are very close to defeat Kian. Verity gives a motivating speech and talks to all agents before they spread across the Colosseum. The Magistrate comes up and talks to Team Vultures and Verity, trying to convince them not to fight. With her failed attempts, she just accepts the battle. As part of Team Vultures heads to look for Agatha Volkomenn, the agents of Obscurité, Hell Hunters, Famiglia Leone and Team Delta gather in the colosseum to fight Kian's escribes and existeds.

Antonella Leone kills an escribe while Alef misses a grenade blowing up several Existeds. The members of Obscurité go up with Verity's team. Marc Menet and Aaron attack together and kill one of the opponents, but Lorraine and Emmanuelle are attacked, and eventually, die. However, during the battle that results in the defeat of Kian’s Escribes and Existeds, no other members of the Order and their allies die.

The Vultures hear some grunts from Agatha and when they enter the colosseum's arena, they see five figures: in the old body of Luciano, now with a long beard and glowing sigils on his body, Kian holds Agatha by the neck. The teenager struggles with the Calamity's Grimoire on her hands. On guard, there are three other people: two with the same face; however, one with fancy clothes and another with a helmet of Roman warriors - which reveal themselves as respectively, Damir Lukic and Boris Lukic —; and a last one, with a recurring appearance to a bald creature, which is revealed as T-Bag.

Before the Vultures arrive, Kian talks and heals his markeds, leading them to the Colosseum. There, they meet Agatha with Arnaldo Fritz's Grimoire. None of the team’s markeds attacks her, though Kian himself teleports ahead and grabs her by the neck. At this time, Team Vultures enter the Colosseum. Kian speaks and creates illusions to keep his markeds at his side. The Magistrate appears and holds Kian, so Team Vultures could gain time.

The battle between the Markeds finally begins.

However, during the fight, Joui Jouki is the first to try to convince the members of Team Kian to turn against their master, demonstrating that the illusion previously created by Kian — that showed members of Team Vultures accepting an agreement with the Devil — was a lie. Next, it was Carina Leone's turn to ensure that she wouldn't attack them, disarming herself. The Leone says that, unlike what Kian said to them, Gal was betrayed by his master, mentioning that he had been saved by Team Vultures through a choice made by The Host.

Dante is the last to try to convince them by releasing them from his tentacles and using a ritual that demonstrates some of his memories on Damir Lukic. Proposing a truce, the Vultures assure that they would stop the Devil after the battle against Kian. Teaming up with Team Vultures, T-Bag, Damir and Boris Lukic put together a strategy.

Kian returns after defeating and killing the Magistrate. He realizes that his markeds have switched sides and tries to attack them. But before he could kill T-Bag, Mr. Verity jumps from the second floor, and with a hidden truth that even Kian can’t figure out, he manages to stop the Realizer of the Calamity. Team Vultures and their recent allies go after Kian, attacking him.

Carina takes the Calamity's Grimoire and the page needed to complete it. Kian uses the Blade of Fear to pierce Boris. Carina then completes the Grimoire. The Leone feels like she’s holding on to infinity, the impossible. Carina Leone has the truth in her control and erases from existence all the rituals and skills to conjure them from Kian. Kian’s tattoos blink and both Kian and Carina scream with their eyes glowing in shades of white.

The fight against Kian begins. Without rituals, the Realizer of the Calamity goes with brute force. He punches Verity in his stomach, but Team Vultures and their newfound allies team up to attack him. Joui tries, but Kian holds his blade. Verity commands him to kill him; However, even so, Kian cannot. However, when Kian releases the blade to put Damir, agonizing in pain, to the ground, Joui manages to mark the Kanji of death in his back. Boris Lukic dies, having his head stomped by Kian.

Dante heals Damir Lukic. The tattoos on Kian’s body begin to fade. Kian focuses on Joui, grabbing him, and beats him in frustration. He already knows he lost. Kian was defeated by the Order agents; by the love they feel for each other. Joui Jouki dies with the certainty that Kian knows he will fall soon.

Far away, holding a black box, Arthur arrives at the Colosseum, having witnessed the last moments of life of one of his best friends.

Trivia[]

  • This is the 50th episode in the entire Tabletop RPG branch of the Paranormal Order universe.
  • In this episode, a new battle system called "War" was used, where the players received sheets from some agents of the Order, Obscurité, Hell Hunters and Famiglia Leone, and helped to coordinate the characters of their teams, acting and playing like them during the war between Ordo Realitas and the Escribes.
  • In this episode Luba closes his cycle as Joui, having appeared in 40 episodes in total (two of them played by the master), thus surpassing Kaiser in terms of screen time.
  • This episode was scheduled to be the last of the year 2021 and the first part of Calamity, however, the scene of Joui’s death was impactful to the point that the master himself could not continue the episode, so he ended up being postponed to November 27, 2021, making this episode the only one so far to end in the middle of a fight.
