The Beginning of the End is the first episode of Paranormal Order: Calamity. It aired on September 11, 2021.
Synopsis[]
The new team returns to the Ordo Realitas Base to further investigate a diabolical entity and its relationship with the Relics of Calamity. A clue from Arnaldo Fritz's grimoire leads the agents to the mansion of the Famiglia Leone in Italy, where a dark pact awaits them.
Summary[]
Four days have passed since the team’s last mission Carina approaches a bar that has written on the facade "Ape Hangers", and upon entering she sees Balu and Rubens playing pool. During the match, Rubens manages to pocket four balls at once, while Balu proves to be no good at the game. Seeing this situation, Carina decides to play too and pockets the last two balls, while Arthur comes from behind the refrigerator that connects the place with the Ordo Realitas HQ. After exchanging a few words with Ivete, Arthur guides the rest of the team inside the base, revealing the crowded site of new Order factions. Carina recognizes some of them as part of her family.
Meanwhile, in the rituals room, Dante analyzes with Agatha the page from Arnaldo Fritz's Grimoire that was found after the battle against The Needy. He says that the document has inaccessible information, blocked through some paranormal phenomenon. Soon, Arthur, Carina, Rubens and Balu invite Dante to a meeting scheduled with Mr. Verity. Balu seems uncomfortable with the occultist symbols, and waits for his colleagues in the hallway until Dante knocks on the Order’s leader’s office door.
Who answers the door is Clarissa Leão, with a completely different look, using Tristan's jacket on the shoulders and with one of the arms tattooed with a ritual. Upon entering the room, the five see more pages of the grimoire, showing the 5 elements of the paranormal. Mr. Verity first asks Arthur to give the chosen name to the team, now called Team Vultures.[2] When reading the grimoire page, taken by what they assume to be a Symbol of Pact, Dante asks Mr. Verity if he believes that the Devil itself could exist. The group wonders if what happened could be the work of the Devil mentioned in the documents, then argue about how the way it is said to act did not make it look like a monster, but someone with the powers of the Devil. During the report on the group’s passage through Bariguara, Mr. Verity questions why Cícero agreed to open the door to The Needy.
In this, a flashback happens, during the moments after the battle against the creature,[3] where Dante uses a ritual to get inside Cícero's mind, that makes both wake up in a place without light, inside a spiral. Dante insists on knowing if Cicero has ever heard of someone named Juan, or even if he has heard of Kian, which makes it clear that the Gominho couple only agreed to the Devil’s agreement to save their home. The account leaves Balu angry and soon everyone leaves the place.
Back at the meeting at the headquarters of the Order, the group continues to wonder how the creature created by Dante ended up in the interior of Mato Grosso. He then tries to assimilate the new document that contains the Devil’s Pact to the grimoire, which, paranormally, gets new pages with various information. An illustration of the Devil can be seen in one of the new pages of the grimoire, where it is sitting on a throne with several creatures around it, similar to Blood Zombies. On another page, it shows the file of two brothers responsible for the so-called "Devil's Circus", and the last one containing the symbol of Ordo Realitas, where there are some notes from Arnaldo where he said he needed to find the origin of the paranormal and the Sect of the Masks. The group keeps thinking about theories about what all that meant, and Verity tells what he knew about Arnaldo’s story, especially about this case.
Balu notices, in one of the new pages, small numbers, and tells the group about what he found, but he doesn’t understand what they mean. Upon hearing this, Clarissa takes the page quickly and, with a black light flashlight, discovers the coat of the Famiglia Leone and the numbers 04-13-02-11 right below. Carina notices a clear allusion to her family’s safe in one of the letters and theorizes that it is possible that Arnaldo might have left hidden documents at the scene. In this, Carina calls her father, Marco Leone, in Italy, who manages to open the safe with the combination found in the letter. However, he says that in order for Carina to be able to analyze such documents, she would have to return home, as no document leaves the Leone's safe.
After the conversation both say goodbye by the call and Carina then asks Verity about traveling to the Leone's Mansion, idea with which he agrees.[4] Therefore, Verity presents the other nuclei of the Order spread throughout the HQ, coming from different parts of the world to help in the fight against the paranormal. First he presents the Hell Hunters, an anti-occultism group, composed of former S.W.A.T members led by Ryder Staten. Verity also presents to the Vultures the Obscurité, a French gang of Occultists whose main goal is to protect people against the paranormal, they follow a semi-archical structure so they do not have a leader, however, all members respect Marc Menet, who acts by leading the group in most cases. Verity then suggests the team to choose some of its members to accompany them on the trip and, in readiness, Carina goes to meet Carla, her sister who was present there with some other Leone who came together from Carina to Brazil. Arthur asks everyone to think well about the choice, which ends up doing itself when Clarissa arrives saying that she would go along with them to Italy. Soon, everyone go to the airport.
Upon boarding the plane they choose their seats. Balu, realizing that the first class seats are empty runs up to one of them, Carina prefers to sit in a corner and read the documents to understand them better, Dante andArthur go to the last seats at the bottom of the plane and talk a little about the son of Arnaldo, Thiago Fritz. Rubens, who had sat in the first class, near Balu, after a time alone, is questioned by Clarissa about Johnny[5]. He changes his expression, making it clear that something has happened to his partner, while Clarissa tells him that they cannot let the same thing happen to them as happened to Johnny. She also tells Rubens to channel his feelings into focus to defeat the Occultists.
Team Vultures finally arrives in Italy, and when leaving the airport they go directly to the Leone's Mansion. Upon arriving in the yard, Carina tells the group excitedly about her family and quickly goes to the door to open it, waiting to be greeted by her uncles, cousins, father and mother, however, when opening the door of the imposing mansion, she is faced with something she never expected to find: several bodies scattered on the floor and a hall full of blood and death.
The team quickly goes on alert and Dante makes a trap to warn them in case someone enters the mansion behind them. The agents then head to a hall on the way to the secret Leone base below the mansion. Upon entering the room, they encounter three Blood Zombies in transformation process.
At the exact moment, Arthur quickly shoots the first monster that doesn’t seem to have much effect. While the creatures attack Balu, Clarissa takes advantage of the distraction to fire a blast of fire with her Uzis. Rubens Balu also shoots and explodes one of the Zombies. Balu manages to take down one of the monsters and deal extreme damage, giving the creature two axe strikes. Dante uses his Decadenza ritual in one of the zombies, that defiles the monster. After failing to attack the last of the Zombies, Clarissa slips between Arthur and Balu, and finishes him off with a blast of gunfire. After the battle ends, Carina finds a paper with a message: "The gift has been delivered", together with the Symbol of the Pact. While examining the bodies of the Zombies, Dante sees some coat of arms of the Leone's family in some and tattooed texts in others, containing horror stories and words of death.
Clarissa, without patience, enters one of the rooms and kills alone many Blood Zombies present there. Carina goes towards the various refrigerators that are in the refrigerator of the mansion and pulls one of them, revealing a staircase that leads to a bunker. Everyone goes downstairs. Upon entering one of the base rooms, they see several bodies and two Blood Zombies. Carina tries to sneak into the room, however, Balu rushes and walks ahead of time.
Carina, still stealthily, throws two knives almost perfectly at one of the creatures. The first slices part of the monster’s face that contained thorns in its head, and then finish it with a second knife that plunges into its forehead before it can react.[6] Arthur shoots with his pistol almost killing the other Blood Zombie present, who upon feeling the presence of Carina attacks quickly. Dante finishes the monster using his Decadenza ritual.
After the death of the creatures, Dante heals Carina's wounds and they start looking for things in the room, just finding papers with the same symbol and message from the previous ones. Dante notices signs of fighting in the bunker. They then go to a hallway that has two doors next to it and, at the end, a half-open safe. Dante uses a ritual to listen inside the safe, and notices a monster inside. Arthur locks the safe for security and they search for clues in one of the rooms on the sides of the corridor, where they find the security camera footage. By watching the cameras they see the Leones being decimated by Escribes and, still watching the recording, already in the safe, they see a man who has several bright tattoos on his body, a long beard and shaved hair. Arthur instantly recognizes him: Kian. He was accompanied by several escribes, and among them a group of five people stood out, but the vultures only recognize Gal and Rana, who performs a teleport ritual to lead the escribes to the mansion.
Carina then goes towards the safe and, after opening the big door and entering the room, she has a tormenting vision, the face of someone she saw her whole life, which was like a symbol of strength and leadership. Marco Leone, In the process of transforming into a Blood Zombie, furiously rides up on her, but before he can reach her, he is pulled into the air by the neck, as if something is holding him with an invisible collar. And something starts to happen...
A symbol begins to emerge from the wall. Behind what’s left of Marco, a symbol that brings a big crack of Blood, and from inside this crack, a hoodied silhouette [...], The Devil is in front of you...

- The Beginning of the End is the shortest episode of the Paranormal Order series, having 3h16min duration.
- The numbers from Arnaldo Fritz's password, "04-13-02-11", also appear on several other occasions, usually related to Arnaldo or The Host. For example, the numbers "04-13-02-11" were marked on parts of the characters' bodies during one of the riddles of The Host's Room in the 7th episode of Deconjuration. In addition, the fire of the St. Menefreda Orphanage happened on 02/11, and, in the prologue of Calamity, Eusébio Teixeira heard the numbers "0413" in the static of his radio, saying that the device told "the truth".
