Cesar, I got blind, but it was a choice so I could see.
Bruno[1]
Bruno[fn 2] was an Escribe that grew up at the St. Menefreda Orphanage, and also the best childhood friend of Kaiser.[3]
He first appeared in the 8th episode of Deconjuration, entering Kaiser's cell to talk with him.[4] Bruno was killed in the 20th episode by Kian, that erased him with an Unexist Ritual.[5]
Appearance[]
Childhood[]

In his childhood, Bruno was a young man of white skin, brown hair, usually combed like a short tuft, and dark eyes. He usually wore a white tank top.[6] Since his time at the St. Menefreda Orphanage, Bruno had a physical build somewhat athletic, being able to protect Cesar from school bullies.[7]
Deconjuration[]

In Deconjuration, Bruno was a tall and strong man, aged 20-30, with short brown hair, and, like other Escribes, his eyes became whitish due to his blindness. He wore black pants, had sashes tied around his waist, and had a hooded cloak that covered the right part of his body.[4] He had several tattoos with horror stories by the right part of his chest, having also in his arms, neck, and one on the left part of his forehead, with the word "Blood".[8]
Personality[]
As a young man, Bruno was described as a gentle boy by Kaiser, enjoying helping others for pleasure. Kaiser reported that once he was in a school class where the duty would be to draw his father figure, in which the hacker began to cry and ran out of school, he says that Bruno was the only student who worried about the emotional state of the boy. Bruno’s former personality was also mentioned by Kaiser’s memories at his school, where Bruno had always known Kaiser’s fear of being observed.
As an adult, Bruno used to be serious and very focused on his goal most of the time, he appeared to be very strong sentimentally, since he saw his old friends and companions Kish and Erika brutally killed by himself, still seemed to show a lot of empathy for Kaiser and miss his old days with his friend, this is demonstrated after he attacked Henri and saved Kaiser from his death saying that there were "Simpler times, huh?". Bruno, having been a traitor to his group, showed no remorse towards the other Escribes, as he himself said after killing Ike.[9] Bruno also assumed a very protective and responsible posture, he was in charge of protecting Hugo and his friends while the group explored the site, besides killing the Existeds from the Blue Condominium so the kids wouldn’t see and be shaken.
Biography[]
Past[]
Bruno was born in the 90s on an unknown date and grew up in the St. Menefreda Orphanage along with many other children. During his childhood, he met at school a boy named Cesar Oliveira Cohen, making a friendship with him for some time. It is reported by Kaiser that Bruno was the first and only friend he had in childhood and that it was he who welcomed him after the first panic attack he had at school after an art class.[10] Cesar and Bruno have since become very close and used to play games between them in physical education classes they had at school. Whenever it rained, the teacher passed chess to the class and the two boys did not play together, instead, they played with other colleagues and made a challenge between them of who could lose first, making wrong moves on purpose to win the bet. This was a kind of prank among the boys that was eventually discovered by the teacher who forced them to play a game against each other with the punishment that the loser would take suspension. Cesar was extremely uncomfortable, since he already had social anxiety at the time and was placed as the focus of attention of the entire class at the time. Bruno, who noticed the discomfort of his friend, made wrong moves on purpose so that the game ended soon and Cesar got out of this situation. In that moment, the two became true best friends.[11] However, after the end of high school, Bruno moved away and disappeared from Cesar’s life.[3]
After the fire of the Orphanage in 2009, caused by a "game" of The Host,[12] Bruno joins the Escribes due to the lack of shelter and food he and many other children had, having to do everything to survive. He started by just stealing places or kidnapping rich people, but eventually he had to commit murders and his actions were escalating and he lost control of his mistakes. In 2019, Bruno calls Cesar for them to have a conversation, in which they end up fighting and never speak again.[13]
Deconjuration[]
Bruno appears at Cesar's cell, now known as Kaiser, to talk, giving him a mysterious chess piece, a black pawn, besides sharing some informations about Kian and his Cult of Knowledge.[4]
In the Blue Condominium, Henri surrenders an extremely injured Kaiser at the ground and holds a knife on his neck in order to kill him.[14] However, Bruno interrupts the execution stating that he should do it himself.[15] Henri then walks away and, the moment Bruno is about to drop his sledgehammer towards Cesar, he switches targets and hits Henri’s face, knocking him to the ground. Immediately, he ducks down asking if his friend was okay and calls his partner, Clara, that heals the wounded agents.[16] Bruno demonstrates disgust at what Kian and Gal plan and claims to be finally "loose from the reins" that the tattoos of the Deconjuration were putting at him.[17] He uses a cure ritual at three members of D-Force and states that even prevented from entering the "Passage" room, he would accompany Cesar and the rest of the team and try to help in any way he could in the battle.[18] He guides the agents to a secret passage in the kitchen and directs them to the underground of the Devilish Mansion, where he states that Gal was along with the children.[19]
Together with the team, Bruno finds himself in a dark place full of fog and scriptures. He explains to the agents that this is the home of Tirigan, and that now the Escribes had been allowed to kill them. The group finds a paper written "Graduation" and, when holding it, his body is possessed by the voice of Anthony, that sends a message to agents and then appears next to Sukkalgir. He informs them that they need to find Hugo, Cassiano and Eduarda and collect the keys that each one has, and disappears leaving the creature chasing its enemies. When Sukkalgir almost catches Kaiser, Bruno throws himself in front and has his head wrapped around the monster’s jaw, which makes him see things that make him very nervous and almost insane. While exploring the underground, Bruno and the team fight against several members of the Escribes, such as Ike, Jushur, Kish and Erika, where during the fight with the last two, Bruno was the target of an Uncontrollable Rage Ritual by Arthur and almost killed Kaiser while uncontrolled. After solving some puzzles presented by Anthony, they rescue the three children and use the keys of each to open the door to the "Passage Hall", where only the markeds can enter, making Bruno stand outside protecting the children while the agents faced whatever awaited them on the other side of the door.
After the events of the 19th episode of Deconjuration, Bruno allies with D-Force and goes to the St. Menefreda Orphanage on their last try to stop the Deconjuration Order. During the confrontation, Bruno had his legs severely injured by Gal, being able only to observe his companions being wounded and killed by the occultist. Near the end of the fight, Kian becomes a Marked and uses Bruno to demonstrate his powers, using on him an Unexist Ritual, that made him disappear in moments, bringing his end.[5]
Rituals[]

Vital Transfusion Ritual: After the fight against Henri, Bruno searches the group for the three most injured agents and performs a ritual that heals their wounds, weakening him in return as if he had used his own vitality to perform this ritual.[18]

Relationships[]
- Arnaldo Fritz: During his stay at the St. Menefreda Orphanage, Bruno developed a strong relationship with Arnaldo, whom he considered his "godfather" as it was possible to see in a drawing made by him dedicated to the veteran of the Order.[20]
- Erika and Kish: Bruno, Erika and Kish were best friends since their childhood in the St. Menefreda Orphanage. They remained quite close during their time as Escribes, acting even as a trio, training together. Despite Bruno’s attempts to make his friends turn against Kian, the two never converted and ended up being killed in a future battle against Bruno who was under the effect of an Uncontrollable Rage Ritual, that made him furious and extremely strong. Bruno was visibly shaken by the situation after regaining control of his actions.
- Kaiser: They have been best friends since high school. At one point, they move away because of Bruno’s choices towards others orphans that he knew. But they ended up meeting, before the events of The Secret in the Forest, and having a brief conversation where Cesar argues with his old friend already tattooed.[3] In Deconjuration, both reunited after Cesar, known as Kaiser, was captured by the Escribes and held in a cell in the St. Menefreda Orphanage. Bruno handed him a black pawn on the visit and after a brief conversation, he left, that pawn being a memory of his times as friends.[4] This was revealed by Bruno as he saves Kaiser from being killed by Henri,[16] openly restoring their friendship to prevent the Deconjuration.[21]
- Dante: Bruno and Gaspar both grew up at the St. Menefreda Orphanage, however, they never got to create a friendship relationship or something memorable. They meet again on the final day of the Deconjuration, in the 18th episode, talking a little about the past and why Bruno became an Escribe.
Trivia[]
- Bruno originally would be only a random and misinformed soldier of the Escribes, but was adapted to be the best childhood friend of Kaiser after Calango remembered Cellbit that Cesar had a best friend since childhood.[22]
