Brúlio Cervero[2]
Brúlio Cervero was a secondary character in The Secret in the Forest and father of Arthur Cervero, being the leader of the biker gang Scoundrel Vultures. He first appeared in the 1st episode of The Secret in the Forest, being at the Ape Hangers bar while Team H went there to get some informations.[3]
Brúlio died in the 6th episode of The Secret in the Forest during the fight against the Black Death Carrion, who controlled his mind and made him shoot on his own head.[4]
Appearance[]

Brúlio was a 60-years old big black man, being about 6.56 feet tall, having long hair and beard, with a whitish tone because of his age, in addition to having brown eyes. He wore an open black leather jacket with torn sleeves over a black shirt with the print of the Scoundrel Vultures. He also had his two arms full of tribal tattoos.[3]
Personality[]
Brúlio presented himself as being a humorous and friendly man, doing so in his flashy way, often being considered "rude" for being more direct. Despite this, Brúlio treated well those who respected him, being very stoic and caring for the people around him, worrying mainly about his son, whom he always showed much love and zeal. Brúlio however, when presented to serious situations takes a firm and centered stance, not being afraid to face the problems head on, even if it costs your life.
Biography[]
Past[]
During his youth, Brúlio was a rebel who liked to defy the law and did not usually measure the consequences of his actions. He was very friendly with Rodolfo, and together, they made drag races in places now abandoned. Because of the inconsequential life, Brúlio often frequented the Carpazinha Hospital, and there he met his future wife, the nurse Amanda, being treated by her and with time developing a relationship. Meanwhile, the friendship between Brúlio and Rodolfo decreased, much because of the violent and vengeful personality of his friend. Around 1992, when he had his first child, Arthur Cervero, the two had already separated and created their own biker gangs, the Scoundrel Vultures and the Haunteds.[5] Ten years after the birth of Arthur, Brúlio’s second son was born, Henrique Cervero.
During Arthur’s teen life, his relationship with his father was complicated, as Brúlio had to deal with his son’s dream of becoming a musician. When Arthur was 22, Amanda and Henrique died due to a car accident. This leaves Brúlio and Arthur well shaken, but due to the serious and tough way of Brúlio, his son didn't like to talk openly about what happened, because he knew of the veiled suffering of his father. This situation between the two generated discomfort in Arthur, who already felt guilty about the tragedy. Thus, the young man decides to leave the city and go to Minas Gerais to study music and focus on his dream, which makes Brúlio be alone with his gang in Carpazinha for 5 years, until his son returns from Minas Gerais and reunites the gang again.
The Vultures' main meeting point was the bar Ape Hangers, being Ivete the owner of the establishment and a member of the gang. However, due to a financial crisis, the Haunteds began to pay much of the bar’s costs in order to annoy the Vultures. Ivete, as she could not refuse the offer, separated the times and days of each gang in the bar. Despite having to respect the schedules established by Ivete, Brúlio was always hostile to the presence of the Haunteds in the bar, regretting not being able to help Ivete in this crisis and playing the bar in place of the rivals.[6]
The Secret in the Forest[]
In a random day at the Ape Hangers bar, Team H comes through the door, approaching and asking for some information about the town, and Brúlio decides that the information would be given in exchange for the realization of some challenges. After a draw in the challenges, he proposes a play of Russian roulette with the members of the Order, and Thiago volunteers to participate, taking the gun and pulling the trigger, only to hear Brúlio laughing and warning that the gun was out of bullets, and the big guy just wanted to test if they were really tough guys. While Brúlio told the agents about the legend of the Lunatic Doctor, two members of the Haunteds enter the bar, breaking the schedule agreement they had established and after harassing Liz and beat a drunk old man, they start a fight against the Vultures. The gang and the Order's team manage to scare away the rivals.[7] After the fight, Brúlio questions Thiago about the reason for the investigation, who says that if he spoke the reason for the investigation would put them all in danger, Brúlio accepts the explanations and directs them to the Carpazinha Library to search more about the legend of the Lunatic Doctor.
The next day, the team shows up again at the bar, meeting Brúlio's son, Arthur Cervero, another member of the gang, but with a much gentler, cheerful and naive way. He was there to perform a show, acting as guitarist for the Scoundrel Vultures band. After a moment of relaxation among all, the group of agents goes after Thiago, who had left the bar a few minutes ago and did not return. Some time passes and Brúlio begins to be worried about the delay of his new friends, causing Arthur to offer to investigate the situation.[8] After a few minutes, he returns scared and yells that the bar was closed, because the Haunteds were coming, but no one pays attention. Brúlio gets confused with the situation, but seeing the frightened and nervous countenance of his son asking to trust him, he speaks in a serious tone to all customers that the bar was closed that night. Brúlio then pulls out his custom Magnum and hands it to his son thinking he would need it. A few hours later, Brúlio hears gunshots, screams and sees the forest next to the bar on fire. He then runs into this chaos and finds Arthur with the Order’s agents, crying at what appears to be someone’s burial. Cristopher Cohen had been killed by something. He helps the group at Cris' funeral, understanding what it’s like to lose someone, and goes inside the bar.
One day later, when the members of the Order return to the bar, he demands an explanation to understand what had happened. They explain everything about the paranormal and the occultists to him, that after understanding what was happening promises to help if necessary. Brúlio gives them one last piece of information when they ask about a specific address, and tells the story of how he and Rodolfo were best friends way before, and that the current leader of the Haunteds had a strange obsession with the big house, the old mansion of the Lunatic Doctor, for some reason. But the Vulture did not care so much about it, until he began to realize the psychopathy of his companion, which resulted in the separation of the two. He reports on the disappearance of Gregório Igorovich and fears that he’s been caught by the Haunteds. The agents now accompanied by Arthur go to the big house, and the leader of the Vultures promises to meet them at 10 PM if they do not return.[9]
After hearing sounds of shots, Brúlio follows, along with the other Vultures, to the site, and arriving there, he sees a huge wooden house, making him discover that there was the hiding place of the Haunteds. He notices the dead bodies of Gregório, Rodolfo and some members of the rival gang, as well as creatures with a red skin, similar to zombies, dead on the floor, something he had never seen before. After a while searching the house, they hear sounds of motorcycles and then, they prepare for the confrontation. An intense exchange of fire between the rival gangs begins, with the help of the agents. In this battle occur several deaths, including Marcelo, but something unexpected and terrifying comes in the middle of the fight: the Black Death Carrion, a mysterious and dangerous Paranormal creature that comes out of the basement of the house, further complicating the situation. Brúlio continues to shoot the rival gang members, before becoming furious and starting to shoot the creature non-stop, damaging it seriously. He remains firm and strong, managing to hold it and counterattack with a punch, however, the monster is extremely agile and strong, managing to stick its claws in the stomach of the vulture, while facing him directly in the eyes. The Carrion then manages to control Brúlio’s mind and makes him kill another member of his gang, Ivan,[10] with a clear shot to the head, and soon after, the creature forces him to commit suicide, pointing the gun at his own head and pulling the trigger.[4]
