Past[]

Bartô Castello was born in November 20, 1968, in the island of Tipora, growing up in a troubled family.

In mid-1982, Bartô accompanied some of his friends to the Moretti's Mansion, at request of Evandro. Arriving in the 3rd floor of the mansion, Bartô opened the door of the studio, but as he was very tall, Evandro tried to move away a little to see what was in place, in which he accidentally bumped into Bartô, making him slip and fall with his hand inside a can of paint of the painter. Bartô's reaction left Evandro in shock, with the boy starting to scream desperately, his hand getting stained as if he had been burned by the paint. After that day, Bartô began to hallucinate and hear the bell ring constantly. Through this, he isolated himself from everyone by presenting a person with strange behavior.

After complications in childbirth of his child, Miguel Castello, Bartô considers Miguel’s imaginary twin brother to be real, understanding the difficulty of the hallucinations caused by the paint.

Day 1[]

Currently, at 53, father of Milo Castello and Miguel Castello, he holds the position of Fisherman of the island, being one of the main responsible for feeding and moving the internal economy of Tipora.

On the day of the Florence family’s arrival on the island, Bartô Castello wakes up at his home in the morning and prepares breakfast for him and his son. Right after the meal and talking to Milo, he heads towards the moored boat next to his house and goes fishing, having no further information about him on this day.

Day 2[]

The next morning, while not locating Milo in his house at dawn, Bartô goes towards Bárbara's house in search of his son’s whereabouts. Arriving there, he finds his son and returns to his home. Bartô comments with Milo on the Church Barbecue that would take place in the late afternoon of the same day, and returns to fishing until the time of the event.

In the course of the morning, during a wildlife attack next to his home, Bartô appears paddling towards the shore to help his son being attacked. Upon their arrival, Bartô helps them by killing the animals and taking a poisoned Milo to Návia Eiland, the island's doctor. Bartô runs along Milo through the forest and Bárbara follows. Arriving there, Milo begins to rave, talking about his "brother" Miguel and asking questions about who is Zélia Castello to Bartô, in which he remained silent for all time. After Návia stabilizes Milo, the others find a notebook referring to the birth records made by Olga Eiland, where the last name of the list is noted, Miguel Castello, who had complications in childbirth in 2002.

After the afternoon events and the Church Barbecue, Bartô returns with the group on their way home. On the way, he orders Milo to go home with him, arguing that he would like his presence today. They discuss briefly with each other, but end up yielding sadly and returning to their home in the dark night alone.

Day 3[]

There is no information on the whereabouts of Bartô Castello. But it is known that he was not present in his home for the afternoon, as usual on other days, arising from his fishing activities and his more isolated personality.

Day 4[]

In the morning of the next day, as in the other days, Bartô goes towards the forest to hunt and satiate his abstinence generated by the paint, and during that period, he witnesses someone hooded on the beach going towards the village. Later, he returns to his home.

At dawn the next day, Bartô is in his room and hears his son calling him in the hallway. When they meet, in an agitated manner, Bartôy hides his hands from his son. During the conversation, he delivers as a birthday present a machete, the same one Milo had stolen days ago to protect himself. In the room, where they continue to talk, Milo creates the courage to confront him about who Miguel is. They argue, Bartô denies everything and says he had two children, but Evandro Eiland soon arrives and interrupts him, taking Bartô to the police station for questioning.

During the rally, which took place in the church, Evandro begins his speech that there are no monsters on this island and that the case will be solved in an explainable way. In the meantime, Maíra, the church's nun, and Evandro, accuse Bartô, that in the middle of the discussion raises like a beast, with pupils of different sizes and with black veins in the face, thus starting a confrontation in the middle of the meeting. Minutes later, Bartô is calmed down but he seems confused with his surroundings, not knowing where he is, and asking if "he vanished", if it’s over and where Miguel is. After that brief moment, Bartô is handcuffed by Evandro and taken to the police station.

In the midst of the agitation, Bárbara and Milo follow the police in an attempt to rescue Bartô from his prison, but without success, he remains there for the rest of the day.

Day 5[]
