Aurora, known as City of Flowers, is a small fictional city located in the state of São Paulo, considered a sister city of a European city of the same name. It is the scene of a mysterious series of disappearances investigated by the police officer Larissa Ribeiro, in which seven residents with no apparent connection to each other disappeared overnight. With the gravity of the situation, she decides to contact the Ordo Realitas, who send a group of recruits and the agent Caio Leal to solve the case, leading to the events of The Crimson Aurora Thorns.
History[]
The city has already been the victim of two waves of mysterious disappearances, one in 1977 and the other in 2022.
The Sister City and Flower Saint[]
According to an old book named Sanguis Orchid, in Europe there was a small town called Aurora. The city had people very dedicated to Christianity and was visited several times by an angel, known as Seraphim Red. In the seventh century, a young woman claimed to have made a deal with the angel during one of her visits to the city, in which she would have been blessed with the ability to heal with a mere touch. As red orchids grew from the healed bodies, the young woman became known as "Flower Saint". The woman was worshiped throughout the city and even nearby towns that sought the blessings of the saint, which led to the founding of a cult that became known as Sanguis Orchid or Blood Orchid.
After this event, other European cities tried to recreate the legend, asking for the canonization of other women as the Flower Saint for the Vatican, all of which were denied.
Foundation and connection with flowers[]
In Brazil, Aurora was founded by European immigrants in 1817. Among the immigrants, the Ghular family was responsible for propagating the cult of the Blood Orchid and the tradition of the legend of the Flower Saint in the new city.
Since its founding, the city has had a strong connection with flowers, receiving the official title of City of Flowers in 1917. In 1970, the city sent a request to the Vatican to canonize Lygia Virgínia do Rosário as the Flower Saint, but the request was denied, since Lygia did not have the requirements to become a saint and the title ,already belonged to Saint Doroteia.
