Angelina Florence

Angelina Florence is the matriarch of the Florence family, mother of Olivier and Amelie Florence, and married with Montel Florence, that convinced her to visit the island of Tipora with him on a work trip believing that he would be going to a paradise island.

Angelina first appeared in the 1st episode of The Secret in the Island, going up to the deck of the boat next to her husband, to check the situation of the boat.

Appearance

Angelina is a young woman with blonde hair and brown eyes. She wears a pink coat, dressed over a white T-shirt, along with blue jeans, a pair of black boots and a gray scarf as an accessory.

Biography

Past

Angelina was born in Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, in an unknown year. Between her 20s, Angelina would meet Montel Florence, a Frenchman, during a parade she worked at, marrying him and having two children, Amelie and Olivier.

The Secret in the Island

Day 1

Angelina travels to the Island of Tipora, coast of Espírito Santo in an old boat, accompanied by her family and Cavalcante Bueno, a real estate agent, who, like Montel, had been hired to analyze and evaluate the works left behind in the mansion of Constantino Moretti, a mysterious painter who lived on that island until he disappeared without a trace. After a brief series of complications with the boat, Angelina arrives on the island, demonstrating her discontent for the lack of technology of the supposed "paradise island" on which her family would stay, having one of her daily fights with her husband.

After a while, two residents of the island, Bárbara Lima and Milo Castello, arrive at the beach to welcome the new visitors and end up volunteering to carry their bags and guide them to the mansion through the island’s forest. During the crossing, they are attacked by a wild boar, which is quickly scared away, until they arrive at the Moretti's Mansion, where they would stay, facing a completely abandoned environment, covered with paintings on the walls, but elegant and luxurious. Angelina, after storing her bags in one of the rooms, would stay in the kitchen waiting for her son to buy some ingredients for a dinner, staying in the kitchen until their arrival. After dinner, Angelina would go to her room to sleep.

Day 2

The next day, Angelina, her children and Bárbara went to the beach near Milo’s house, with the youngers entering the house to talk while Angelina stood outside to sunbathe. After a while, she would be frightened by the boar that had attacked her family the day before being attacked by Wild Dogs, with the four youngsters protecting her from the animals until the arrival of Bartô Castello, Milo's father.

After heading towards the house of Návia, the local doctor, Angelina would stay in the village drinking and talking to some of the villagers until she got drunk and went to the mansion, where she would talk to her daughter about the divorce paper Amelie had found earlier, with Angelina venting about her marriage and asking what she should do.

Day 3

On the third day, after the fraternization held at the Church Barbecue, she sleeps next to her husband. After waking up, she spends the day talking and interacting with him noting that his behavior was different from usual, imagining that he had finally noticed the importance of his family in relation to his work.

At the end of the day, Angelina is in the kitchen laughing and eating with Montel, after a while they return laughing and holding a bottle of wine back to the couple’s room.

Day 4

At dawn, Angelina leaves her room accompanied by Montel and soon sees Lívia Lima enraged screaming with the painting of Constantino Moretti, they quickly move on her and try to push her away, during the process her husband suffers scratches and she confronts Lívia retaliating the aggression, until her relatives meddle in the fight and separate the two, with Olivier arriving to calm Lívia. Subsequently, she goes upstairs with Montel to the room to treat his injuries.

Later, both are called by Otávio Nemiera, that warns them about Cavalcante's dead body found in the beach, and that during the day a rally in the church will happen, idealized by Evandro Eiland, and scared, the two talk with the youngers at the mansion and set out together for the village until meeting at the church.

Arriving there, both stand at the bottom of the church, just listening to everything that happened on the spot, until, Bartô, uncontrolled attacks the delegate, so the couple runs away from the church. After everything calms down, Angelina and Montel are called by Evandro to be interrogated, and there they are questioned by Evandro alongside Otávio. At the end of the procedure, at dusk, they return to the mansion to rest.

Day 5

Early in the day, the family is surprised by the sudden arrival of Evandro Eiland at the mansion, arresting Montel, and accusing him that there was evidence of his fingerprints in the painting found where Cavalcante died. During the procedure, Angelina claims that Montel has a condition that prevents him from painting and drawing and the existence of a certificate proving the situation. After locating the document, she goes to the police station to rescue her husband with the youngers.

On the way, amid the forest, they are interrupted with the presence of an infected boar that attacks them. After eliminating the threat with Wanderley’s help, they depart to the village. Arriving there, they notice the presence of animals similar to what they found in the forest, and frightened, Angelina hides inside the police station with the other residents while Evandro and the youngers try to eliminate and discover the origin of this event.

Later, Angelina stands next to the lumberjack, Vagner Freitas, after finding the disappearance of Amora Aleno. At one point, at dusk, the residents notice a large movement in the police station and Angelina goes to the police station where her husband was imprisoned, and they hear Montel’s cries. With Olivier’s arrival at the scene, they manage to enter the enclosure and find Bartô’s dead body with his face completely disfigured in the cell next to his husband’s.

With chaos and despair set in on the island, Montel shouting and warning that "everyone would die tomorrow" and "the creature will return when the bell rings", appearing to be in a state of complete madness, as if something was taken from his reality of sanity. Angelina then remains taking care of him, that goes accompanying her and Amelie to the house of Návia Eiland, repeating about the creature without stopping. There, after minutes of conversation with the group of residents reporting the situation and possible steps to take, Amelie and Angelina leave the room arguing, at which time they talk and reconcile the bond between them and decide that Angelina will remain with the other residents overnight for their safety as their children seek the resolution of the mystery.

Day 6

During the last day in the island, a stormy climate and thick fog are witnessed. Angelina was located in the church closed by barricades, where she was with the other residents of the island protecting themselves from the danger present on the site, where she witnessed the creature being summoned by Barnabé.

Throughout the conflict presented, Angelina is grabbed by one of the tentacles of the creature and being dragged towards it, being saved by Amelie, managing to flee the place after the request of her children.

Day 7

At dawn, at the end of the confrontation, Angelina finds herself with the other survivors sheltered inside Návia’s house. With the arrival of their children there, they go to the mansion to rescue Montel and everyone leaves to the beach and there, they see Arthur Cervero and Walter arriving in a motorboat, Amelie and Olivier stay behind to talk with them, while Angelina and Montel get on the boat of Adrian to leave the island, while she sees her husband, muttering in the corner, proud of what he did, like a mad man.
