Biography[]
Past[]
Amelie Florence was born in Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul,[7] in August 29,[8] 1998, being the first daughter of the Florences, Angelina, brazilian, and Montel, french. About three years later, Olivier Florence, her younger brother, is born and the two grow up together.
During her childhood and adolescence, Amelie constantly suffered from nightmares involving a strange woman in white on a cliff. To try to appease this situation, she slept with her father until she stopped having this nightmare. However, some time later, she again had this nightmare, and when trying to ask for help from Montel, he ignored her, saying that it was just some story. This made Amelie create a huge grudge for her father, and in anger, while sleeping and having this nightmare again, she stared at the woman in white and threw her off the cliff, thus stopping having this nightmare.
The Secret in the Island[]
Amelie, already at the age of 23, travels to the island of Tipora in an old boat, accompanied by her parents, brother and Cavalcante Bueno, a real estate agent. The Florence chose that island as their destination because Montel intended to analyze and evaluate the paintings of Constantino Moretti, a mysterious painter who resided on the island until he disappeared. After some complications with the boat, Amelie arrives in Tipora, already disturbed by the lack of technology of the island. Adrian, the boatman, asks Amelie and Olivier to take a lunch to the lightkeeper, an unstable individual who attacks Olivier after being awakened by the brothers. Soon after, Bárbara Lima and Milo Castello, two residents of the island, arrive, volunteering to help carry the Florence family’s bags. After a conflict with a wild boar, the group arrives at the Moretti's Mansion, where the Florence would stay. They are faced with an old-fashioned yet elegant and luxurious environment. After a few moments of investigation, the four youngers decide to separate, and Amelie stays with Bárbara investigating the house while the boys go to the village to buy ingredients for dinner. Amelie and Bárbara find several notes, letters and records, as well as a painting with a ghostly figure. Now reunited, the four youngers, intrigued by the mysteries of that mansion, gather and analyze all the evidence, deciding to go to the library where they find a horror story about a painter who murdered his wife. They realize that someone needs to look at the painting of the figure alone, and Amelie decides to go. It is to the terror of the young woman that from the painting comes the Phantom Bride, a manifestation of Noralma, who interrogates and slowly drives Amelie crazy. Olivier manages to calm the sister in time, and after dinner, everyone prepares to sleep, terrified by the paranormal encounter.
The next day, Amelie wakes up in her brother’s room. She looks out the window and notices Cavalcante around the mansion, which raises her suspicions. She then wakes up her brother, the two leave the room and go to the kitchen to have breakfast with her mother and father. After talking, Amelie, Olivier and Angelina decide to go to the beach. Amelie goes to her mother’s room and while she is changing clothes, she goes through her things, discovering a paper that describes Angelina’s interest in divorcing Montel. Soon after the discovery, Amelie winds up her mother, puts on her bikini and hides the document. The two leave together to the exit of the mansion to meet Olivier, who was talking to Bárbara in the garden. The four go towards the beach and, upon arriving there, Angelina heads to enjoy the beach and the three call Milo. Inside Milo’s house, the youngers argue over the documents they found. Until in an unusual way, everyone is interrupted by shouts, and when they go to check, they see that Angelina was being approached by wild animals.
After an intense fight, where Olivier and Milo left badly injured, Amelie leaves with her brother to Návia's house, the village doctor. Joined by Vagner Freitas, the Florence arrive at Návia, leaving Olivier next to Milo to be looked after by the doctor. Due to the critical state of Milo who had been poisoned, Amelie decides to help Bárbara in the search for ingredients to produce an antidote. On the way, the two meet Pedrinho and Vitinho bothering Bisteca. After confronting them and locating the remaining ingredients for the antidote, Bárbara reveals that there is a secret on the island that everyone hides from Milo, so it was good not to let Pedrinho speak as he pleases. Returning to Návia, the two give her the plant and save Milo. At dusk, at the Church’s barbecue, Amelie prepares some dishes for the group and sits at one of the tables to talk more about the mansion and everything they discovered. They discuss their theories and after being interrupted by a strange appearance of Celestino, Bárbara takes everyone to Helena Gama's house, who had stayed to prepare a new outfit for Amelie, who kindly thanks the girl and wears her new outfit. At the end of the fraternization, they return to the mansion and Amelie accompanies her mother to the room, giving her advice on the situation of the family. She comes down and joins the others. Bárbara makes a shocking revelation to Milo, saying that in fact he never actually existed and since his birth he has been Miguel Castello, someone he believed to be his twin brother. Amelie and Olivier were with them, but they were quiet and completely confused by the situation. Bárbara and Milo leave the mansion then leaving the brothers behind. The two then decide to go to sleep instead of trying to figure out what happened on their own. However, in the middle of the night the brothers wake up with a noise on the third floor. They once again wonder what that might be and Olivier decides to open the door and look down the hallway, but sees nothing. They think it’s best not to go check on the place at dawn and go back to sleep.
The next morning, Amelie is awakened by Olivier on his room, she gets up feeling sick and very anxious to vomit, going directly to the bathroom. When she leaves, she has a morning conversation with her brother, which is interrupted by the arrival of Milo and Bárbara. The four meet and talk about the previous day, clearing the doubts and still trying to understand more the mansion and the strange events. Amelie and Olivier go to their parents' room and realize that apparently both managed to get along after the conversation they had with their children. Amelie is extremely happy after the new information. After the conversation about last night and the noises, the group begins to search the mansion, looking for more clues. Until at a certain point, everyone hears the horn of Adrian's boat, indicating that he had arrived on the island. They decide to split into pairs, as they should intercept Cavalcante, their prime suspect before he leaves the island. Amelie remains in the house exploring with her brother, until a certain moment, Milo and Bárbara return accompanied by Cavalcante’s colleague, Wanderley. After brief presentations, the group again hears loud knocks at the door and come across some of the island looking for Amora, saying she was missing. So, everyone will help and Amelie, Bárbara and Wanderley head out into the island’s forest.
The three talked worried and looked for Amora, until they heard screams coming from the beach, and arriving there they see a corpse lying next to huge stones, with a hole in the face next to a painting that contained the same painted scene. Amelie is shocked, drawing the delegate’s attention after screaming in despair. He soon ordered the two to leave the scene, ordering only Wanderley to remain there. They leave from the beach. The two leave towards the mansion. However, they go to Bárbara’s house, looking for Lívia's things, suspecting her of keeping things from them. Bárbara moves in Lívia’s room until the two hear the noise of someone arriving and come across Mrs. Lívia herself quite upset. She sees the two and immediately starts arguing with them, yelling at Bárbara and sending Amelie away. Amelie refuses and almost gets beaten by Lívia. The old lady gets angry and locks the door, taking the key with her and locking them both in her house. After trying hard to find a way to escape, the two hear Wanderley’s voice in the distance. They scream for help and are freed by him. The three leave for the mansion, exhausted after the long day. Along the way, the two begin to distrust the man, who denies any accusation or question asked. While arguing, Amelie is stopped by Olivier, who arrived at the mansion worried and hugging her sister, they then prepare to sleep and leave together again to Olivier’s room, the three youngers sleep while Wanderley rests in the next room.
