Alex graduated in history at the Federal University of São Paulo with exceptional grades, being hired to work at the Nostradamus School soon after graduating. However, a few months after his hiring, he was fired under mysterious circumstances.
I don't really remember anything. I don't know anything and I don't know why every time I say this, I feel like crying because I know I didn't do anything! I was judged for something I didn't do!
Alexsander Kothe[2]
Alexsander "Alex" Kothe was one of the protagonists of the series Paranormal Order, present in The Paranormal Order.[3]
He was a history teacher at the Nostradamus High School, who mysteriously disappeared from his workplace, being directly connected with the supernatural case that took place there.
Alex committed suicide during the Scout in the Nostradamus School bunker. After seeing a partner being killed by the Degolified, he goes insane, pointing a gun at his own head and pulling the trigger.
Appearance[]

Alexsander was a 23-year-old black man with short dark hair and thin, rounded glasses. During The Paranormal Order, he wore a yellow hoodie with a black print that represented human evolution, a black bag and a wristwatch.
Personality[]
Alexsander was a calm person who sought to understand people's motives and reasons before anything else, analyzing their behaviors and manias.
But after suffering the effect of a Erase Memory Ritual, Alex constantly had flashes in his mind of horrible things that happened during his work at the school, images that filledf his head and made him afraid of what he might have done during his memory lapses, as he did not believe he had the ability to hurt another human being.
Throughout the investigation with the Agents of Order, Alex was quite restless and impulsive, often making decisions that went against the group consensus, being considered "crazy" by them due to the views that plagued him.
After witnessing a paranormal creature in front of him, Alexsander developed a second personality, Ricardo Almeida, a professional Tetris player, fearless and confident in his abilities.
Skills[]
- Historical Knowledge: From being history teacher, Alex had a good knowledge of world history and random curiosities about it.
- Expert in Architecture: Because of his formalization in the area, Alex had an advanced architectural knowledge, knowing how to read and analyze building plans in a precise way, as is seen in the attempt of the agents to infiltrate the Opspor Construction Company.[4]
- Archaeology: Also from being a history teacher, Alex had a great knowledge about different cultures, customs and ways of life of various human societies from the most varied parts of the world, although this was not shown in practice throughout the RPG.
Biography[]
Past[]
Alexsander Kothe was born on August 12, 1996, the only child of Elise and Marques Kothe.[5]
Always supported by his parents, Alex knew from a young age that he wanted to be a teacher. He loved to teach his friends, often imaginary, about the most varied subjects; having the dream of one day teaching at Nostradamus High School. He completed high school at the age of 15 and at the age of 20 graduated in History from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). At the age of 23 he finished his PhD in History with extensive courses in Art History and Programming, even though programming was not his true passion, but something he brought with him when, in 2004, at the age of 8, he won his first computer.
He never had any childhood trauma, Alex basically lived a perfect life, being gay was never a problem for his parents. After receiving an offer from the prestigious Nostradamus School by its own principal, he was super excited to start teaching, as he saw the opportunity it would create for his career.[6][5]
In his apartment he formed a kind of library, with copies of all the possible human sciences, such as philosophy, sociology, history, geography, among others.[7] One of the books on his shelf is a copy of Daniel Hartmann's biggest hit, The Tales of a Needy Creature. His favorite tale was the tale 27, "The Wolf".[8]
Shortly after his graduation, Alex taught history at Nostradamus High School, one of the most renowned schools in São Paulo. He was manipulated by the principal Álvaro Augusto to leave Lina Kunsti, one of the students of the school, in remedial classes in his subject, because, according to him, there would be "extracurricular plans" for her.
When he realized that such student had disappeared, Alex was taken to the school's Bunker, where he was introduced to the Occultism, discovering that this student was actually being tortured. After being horrified by everything he saw and refusing to participate in it, he ended up suffering a Erase Memory Ritual performed by the principal Álvaro along with Olavo Costa and Matias Dennis, while torturing the student. In an attempt to prevent Alex from hindering them, he was fired under the allegation of having assaulted a student.[6][9][10]
The Paranormal Order[]
On February 29, 2020, when Alex was watching TV in his apartment, a group of three people broke into his home. The members of the Order were: Thiago Fritz, Elizabeth Webber and Daniel Hartmann. The three were investigating Alex's possible connection to the disappearance of some of his former students at Nostradamus School, and after finding out about the strange visions of rituals he had been having, they decide to take him along in the investigation, so they can learn more about the school and what he had witnessed. His visions eventually intensified as he approached the school bunker, where the group comes across a Degolified. After the event, Alex developes DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), originating his other identity, called "Ricardo Almeida".[11]
The team members treated him with constant hostility and distrust, mostly for his ill-timed decisions. But when Alex's entire true history with the occultists is discovered by the group, they apologize for doubting the professor's innocence, and end up becoming allies. Alex is recruited at the last minute for the final mission, as his knowledge of the School, however inebriated, could be useful.
The group prepares for the last action, the Scout, a high-risk, under-resourced mission whose goal was to exterminate all paranormal apparitions of the Nostradamus School. Fighting the last and most powerful monster in the school's basement, Alex loses his sanity once and for all when he sees his latest partner, Daniel, being torn in half without being able to have any reaction.
Amid the chaos, tears and blood, Alex says his last words to the group:
Sorry, Daniel.
Alexsander Kothe[12]
Blaming himself for failing to save his partner's life, Alex points a gun at his own head and pulls the trigger, ending his journey of suffering after committing suicide.[13]
Quirks and Phobias[]
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD): After witnessing the horrors committed by Álvaro and the other two teachers at the school, Alex developed the disorder and always had flashbacks and panic attacks when remembering the scenes he had to face. He developed this disorder before the events of The Paranormal Order.[14][15]
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID): Although Alexsander Kothe did not have any phobia revealed, after witnessing the Degolified kill Gonzales, his brain eventually developed a second identity to deal with it, thus creating Ricardo Almeida, a professional Tetris player. Alex and Ricardo don't share memories, not remembering what the other experienced in their moment of control.[11]
Relationships[]
- Daniel Hartmann: When the team finds Alex in his apartment, Daniel tries to interrogate and understand what happened to him. However, later on, the two ended up not getting along most of the time, considering the negative energy coming from Daniel towards him. In their last hours of living together, the two seemed to maintain a more balanced demeanor compared to the beginning.[16]
- Elizabeth Webber: Initially, he intended to help the group in the investigation and answer Liz's questions, but she treated him unsympathetically and maintained an aggressive behavior towards him, living up to the rhythm of the group. This all led to Alex becoming enraged with her and the rest of the agents, maintaining a toxic relationship despite the late moments of the investigation.[17]
- Gabriel Opspor (Agatha Volkomenn): The kind of relationship Gabriel and Alex had was teacher-student. When the investigation team found Gabriel, who had exchanged bodies with Agatha, Alex tried his best to talk calmly with the boy in order to get information about the case, and intended to release him later 'cause he was only a young student.
- Thiago Fritz: Alex never had a direct relationship with Thiago, but he didn't treat him very well most of the time. However, Thiago is extremely enraged and loses his temper when he sees Daniel, his teammate, shooting Alex, a mere civilian involved in the case.[18] He also contends that Alexsander's innocence or guilt in the school's atrocities should be judged by the law, not the opinion of a three agent's group on their first mission.[19]
Trivia[]
- Alex's favorite show and guilty pleasure was Power Rangers in Space, which he constantly refers to.[20][5]
- The event involving Ricardo, his second personality, does not match reality, since, in fact, it is impossible for adults to develop DID, being something exclusive to children under 8-9 years of age who have gone through trauma during this period; information that Cellbit probably didn't have when he conceived the scene.
